I've studied dozens of languages over the years, but this year is different: I'm finally going to master Spanish in 2024! In this video, I will detail what resources I will use to master listening, speaking, reading and writing, including this video's sponsor italki! I'll also show you some of my progress through a Spanish conversation with my Spanish teacher and in a short update after having studied for one month.

this reminds me when i started learning Spanish too at first i was not very interested and only did it because it was useful and relatively easy but now i really like Spanish and Latin American culture. later on i learned a lot of languages that are more "exotic" or have a low population. and what i found is that the smaller languages may be interesting from a historic or linguistic point in the end i find that a language is only as interesting as the people who speak it. in the smaller languages nobody really talks about the things i am interested its usually either ports religion local politics and soap operas. sometimes smaller languages offer me more than i expect and other times less than i expect .but Spanish is almost on par with English. and another thing about Spanish is that the Spanish speaking countries are actually very western in terms of culture. they used to make me think they where more exotic .but i think that i as a west European have more in common with someone from Peru than Poland in terms of culture . and while i like more different cultures like Japanese culture because they do things differently and sometimes its better i sometimes have strange moments where i try to explain something in Japanese or make jokes and they don't get what i am talking about. and i noticed that some of my hobbies are not popular over there despite them involving things that originated in japan like retro games. but there seem to be more people interested in this in Argentina than japan because its seen as a waste of time and money and maybe they are right. but i used to think it would be the opposite and i thought japan would be more of a "geeky" country while the Latin American countries would be more focussed on hard work and traditions and look down on hobbyists. i noticed a similar mindset in other Asian and African countries but to be fair most of those countries are very poor and have no time .but you can say the same about the Latin American countries while japan and south Korea are much richer but have a similar mindset to Indians or Nigerians when it comes to this stuff. (sorry japan the country is still great and interesting but for different reasons )

That's an interesting viewpoint. I do find it's harder to learn about cultures that speak languages with not many speakers. I'm excited to see all the cultures that Spanish has to offer. Thanks for watching 😀

I have some older videos where I speak German, but I'm thinking of making a newly updated video where I speak the languages that I've learned :) Thanks for watching!
