That bass line is Heatwave “Groove Line”. The rap and bass line is “shake that wild thing” which was released on a different issue of the Funky Mix series. I am from the Bay Area and never heard of Juanito in clubs or doing live mixing. It seemed he was very gifted in the studio. He used to rent out his studio too. He had 4 emax which, at the time, made these sample mixes easier to do. No one else did it this good. I wish there was more.
@@JUNIORROCK I used to chat with DJ EFX at Soul Disco Record Pool. He and Juanito used to work together on a couple of records. EFX brother is Mind Motion on KMEL. Mind Motion was their mobile DJ name before that. I talked to EFX a lot when he signed to Nastymix and came out with 4-Way. Then a local record store BPM records opened up and EFX went to record in the upstairs studio over the record store. He went house and made “is it like me dil doe” and did house stuff. I don’t recall EFX doing clubs. But he did mobile and was good in the studio. I miss the days of records when you can go to a store or DJ pool to meet cool DJs. I wish there was a video on Soul Disco. Pretty much any DJ from the 80s and 90s from Northern CA or SF Bay Area knew each other and was connected to as Soul Disco.
