Back after the Easter with another easter(n) front battle! We're using another part of the map we used for the previous battle, previously unseen. Soviets are attacking German defenders a few days after their previous victory a few miles away from this crossing. It's hotter, so the greatcoats are off. Suns out, guns out. Enjoy!
Note: All my maps and battles are modified/not part of the original game and does not represent the finished product. Everything you see is yours to experience if you so wish to create it. My version of the game contains no third-party content. Some videos/battles may contain footage of edited damage models and gun ranges. Everything is created in the GEM game engine's editor, allowing me to make fully custom battle simulations.
Due to current living arrangements at the country place I've had to share the same room as my dad, and that man snores like the engine of a Sturmtiger. Combined with hard labour over several days and lack of sleep, I've yet to recover from the Easter weekend. I may sound a bit tired and sloppy at times, but rest assured, I enjoyed the making of this video. Thanks for watching, I'll be more lively in the next one!

Idk why but every fucking Dad snores like a bear. My dad always snored like crazy (sharing a tent was hell). Pretty much soon as my brother became a dad he started to annoy his wife.

I love the artillery effects in this game. The explosions and sounds are so realistic. I’d love if you included some more howitzers or even bisons in a future battle. Maybe even the soviet heavy spgs.Cheers!

That rear guard action was fantastic!
The explosions and destruction are so good. When the Stug lit up, it was just like what I've seen from real war footage. Incredible details! Wish more games had destruction and animations like this. Mortar/Artillery hits look phenomenal as well, I like how the debris lingers. Similar to real life in many ways. Great battle Diplex! (:
I just want to let you know the extra time you spent scripting the convoy movement is really well worth it. It looks amazing! it brings a lot of dynamic to the battles
20:16 I remember I've read in some memoirs about the same scene. A b-4 cannon directly hit a tiger at Kursk, the tank was turned into a burning pile of scrap metal that barely looked like a tank, it was annihilated

This makes me all the more excited to play skirmish or vs bots. It's a shame the devs haven't granted us access to that in the beta yet.
What's crazy is that a lot of battles in the eastern front and pacific, looked similar to this. Bodies everywhere and burnt out wrecks.
The carnage and destruction and level of detail is really pleasing

The audio in this game is phenomenal
That mortar crew started getting really accurate againt tanks near the end of the battle

The stretchers barbers and Grave diggers would be knackered after that amount of dead and wounded needing collecting.

@chico well having explosives on the bridge would be a safety precaution as if the bridge is captured by enemy hands it can be blown up causing the attackers valuable time and resource to build the bridge

Damn tanks did a little only shooting machinegun, thats was so painfull to watch. They ignore stug and AT gun...

Really liked this one, a MG emplacement or two wouldn't have hurt though!
I'm not sure what it is about light armored vehicles but I just love them and their variants, but I realize that they always get knocked out early on. I'm stoked that that Puma survived and put in work on the German side lol.
The AI in this game is refreshingly good.
Vehicle AI is still pretty wonky. Has a habit of randomly decided to turn side on towards attackers because it randomly spots an infantryman off to the edge of the fight.

For a future video could you try a battle using an increased damage model? I’m really curious to see what ‘hardcore’ looks like in GOH
For the future you can place static units like msg and mortars into fox holes it adds a bit aesthetically and adds some more cover they actually function pretty good in them especially the mortars!
I think you need to figure out a way to make the attacking armor more effective the t34 at the end was a great example that showed they'll spend the whole time switching through shells trying to pick a target till they die when they could've decimated multiple targets already
Should've counter attacked and annihilate that soviet gun.
I like the weapon sounds out of red orchestra.

The game would be sick with physics. For example if a soldier got shot on the edge of a crater and the body rolled down

That stug really turned the tide of battle. Without it the eoviet armor could hv done so much more damage.

Awesome video as usual but could you turn up the game volume for the next video. It seemed really quiet for some reason. I know it's mostly so we can hear you narrate but I think it could be turned up a little louder and we would still have no problem hearing you.

As someone who plays Post Scriptum, i say those 2 t-34's lived waaaaaaaaaaay longer than they should have.

The game is looking good. Though I hope they can implement better and more realistic building destruction physics. They still look the same as in MOW.
When the game is released can we expect you to upload your work to the workshop? I would love to learn the editor from your maps and scenarios and also show my dad some of your work without commentary and player intervention.
I will upload every single battle I've made until the day of release onto the workshop so that everyone can study the scripts etc.

Why doesn't the water slow down infantry?

The Panzer IV was still active using the machine gun in the front the turret was just knocked out hence the T-34 targeting it

Canister shot for the small caliber at guns would be great for late war period. That way they could be still useful against infantry. Don't know how doable that would be in terms of coding and stuff...

You should script a battle for the bridge at Romelle scene from Saving Private Ryan.
Looks fantastic, just wish the AI was just a little more clever. It wouldn't be to hard to make infantry units that have smoke grenades deploy them when under fire from close to medium range. Then aigen I don't know how hard it would be to program AI not to do it when defending a point.
Proposal
The 1941 battle in the movie "T-34" at the start, where the T-34 ambushes the panzers, and the following infantry battle in the village
