- The Buff Flash Control app was created to help photographers take control of their lighting setups directly from their phone. #offcameraflash #studiolighting #paulcbuff
KEY FEATURES -
SMART REMOTE CONTROL
Use the HUB remote to find Paul C. Buff, Inc. flash units in your setup. Once added to your setup, you can control the power outputs of both the flash and modeling lamp, turn them on/off directly from your phone, and save your setups for future use.
LINK800WS FIRMWARE UPDATES
Update the firmware of the LINK800WS Flash Unit directly from the app using the HUB remote.
*Note: The Buff Flash Control app is only compatible with the Paul C. Buff, Inc. HUB remote and Paul C. Buff, Inc. flash units (AlienBees and newer). At this time this app is only capable of controlling the flash and model light outputs and saving lighting setups. Additional features are in development and will be released periodically.

Great video! Great new!! Ive just bought the cybercommander and five Einstein's I was waiting for the Hub and the links units. Great news!!
So exciting!!!
This looks great. Would have liked to have seen what it looks like with multiple strobes connected.. off to see if there's another video. If not, please make one?
Can’t wait to start using the app!!!
Another great addition from PCB!
Your Facebook post shows a card for an Einstein unit. How are you pairing the Einstein to the HUB/App? Are you using the CyberSync transceiver?
Hey Jose! Yes. The app is compatible with all previous generation flash units with the appropriate receiver attached. The Einstein or DigiBees would need the CyberSync transceiver. Hope that helps
This is great stuff!!!
I currently have several White Lightning flashes with CyberSync AC Powered Plus receivers and several Einsteins with CyberSync Transceivers.
I have been using both CyberCommander and Cybersense to control my lights
1) If I purchase the Hub Remote for Canon, will this allow me to use the App with the lights I currently have to somewhat replace the functionality of the CyberCommander and CyberSense?
2) Will the App work with iOS
Thanks! Looks great!
Hi John! Thanks so much for the kind words. Yes! The App will work for any of our current flash units (Einstein and White Lightnings included). It will replace some of the features found in both the CyberSense and CyberCommander with additional features being added overtime. Yes! The app is available for iOS and can be found by searching "Paul C. Buff."
This looks great. Is it possible to fire the units from the app? I do it all from my CyberCommander now, just wondering if I can do the same thing from this app for metering purposes. I would go down the list and meter each light
Hi Mel! You aren't able to send a test fire directly from the app, but you can do so with the HUB remote that is needed to connect to the app. For additional questions, please contact our customer service team at 1-800-443-5542 (M-F from 9am - 4:30pm CT) or by email at info@paulcbuff.com and they will be happy to help!
@@PaulcbuffInc Thanks for the response! Now just watching for the Canon version to release ;)
How do you load a setup?
How many lights can be in 1 setup?
Hey Allen! A saved setup can be loaded from the "Setup" section located in the menu on the app. Once you click on the hamburger menu and the list of tabs populate, you can access any of your saved setups from there. In regards to how many lights per setup, we suggest a max of 16. This would allow for each flash unit to be given its own channel (1 - 16). If you have any additional questions, please contact our customer service team at info@paulcbuff.com or by phone at 1-800-443-5542 (M-F from 9am - 5pm CT). Thank you!
Does the app control Einstein units, as well?
It does! You will need the HUB remote (camera brand specific), but it does work with all of our current flash units. If you have any additional questions, please contact our customer service team at 1-800-443-5542 (M-F from 9am-4:30pm CT) or at info@paulcbuff.com, and they will be happy to help!
@@PaulcbuffInc Thank you.
