      I agree, and also subscribed. This is the only recipe that contains all the right ingredients. It amazes me what some folks pass off as "Harissa." Even my own current recipe is a corruption of the traditional. I'm going to be using this as an ingredient in my Merguez sausages.

      as a Tunisian from where harissa was done we do n ot use ever onion pepper garlic coriander caraway salt DO NOT EVER USE CUMMIN EVER IN HARİSSA

      I had hot Thai peppers that I grew and dried. I canned it in half pint jars. Gave one each to my 2 sons and 1 to my neighbor, all who love it "hot". They are always helping me out. I wanted to do something nice for them. Me, I'm using it mostly for my chicken and to put into my seafood sauces. Thank you. I even gave the neighbor the recipe!

      Yes, merguez recipes use harissa which gives it that spicy kick.

    I've made Harissa Sauce with Mexican dried pepper (Morita peppers). Morita peppers have a smoky flavor that is addicting. Their smokiness is better than dried or canned chipotles, in my opinion.
