I actually hope the biopic movie is never made. It will never be as good as we hope. I think it's a better movie just played in our heads. (If that makes sense). I think back to THE DIRT. I was so exited. Loved Motley since the 4th grade. I watched it twice? Maybe a 3rd time, and stopped half way thru. It's just never what we want. Some things are better left undone. LOL. Great episode. I agree with Stacey's comments below....this is the only channel we can count on for no hate, and in today's social media climate, that is a breathe of fresh air. Imo i think the movie needs to be Made because i think that it Will bring more people to listen to kiss just look at bohemian rhapsody even though the movie isn't great at least it makes people especially new people to listen to kiss and experience kiss
I intentionally did not watch THE DIRT because I knew Netflix wasn't gonna do it justice. I'm hoping that since it's moved on from streaming, it will be of higher quality... but yeah I'm definitely not holding my breath! 😂 Honestly, I'll be surprised if it even gets made at all hahaha. Gene really is a good musician. He deserves more credit then he gets. I was actually glad when KISS first took off the makeup. They proved it wasn't the makeup that wrote the songs but it was actually the members themselves who did.
My band mojomoji got a email back in December from Bob Ezrin's assistant. Shes a sweetheart by the way. Anyways. We did a cover written by Sean Delaney Called "Good Man" it was written many years ago for Peter to sing on a Kiss album. Sean wrote it but Peter left Kiss (Or fired) and it bever made it on a album. Anyways. We have been in talks with Bob and his team to produce our music and we sent that song we covered by Sean Delaney to Bob. In the email Bob's team asked if it was ok to send the song we did to Gene Simmons for a possible new Kiss album or even a solo album. Bob loves it. So that told me Kiss isnt done yet. In my own fantasy world it would be so cool to take pur vocals off the song and have Peter sing it and Kiss do a new original music album with Ace and Peter. Cause the music we recorded is incredible. But you for sure can see why Sean wrote it for Peter to sing. Its a Beth kinda vibe and perfect for Peter. So. There ya go. I let the cat out of the bag. Hope Gene doesnt get pissed at me. Heehee. Great great song. God bless Sean Delaney and his talent. Wow ❤ Wed love to. Put the song out at some point if its not gonna be used. All the albums they talk down to were also low points in their career. There must be a lot of feelings around those times. As an artist myself, I hate a lot of my old and subpar songs and projects.

As I am listening to this episode at least I can say I agree with Daphne about how great Paul Stanley's solo album is and "Take me away"(Together as one), is the best song on the album. That being said, Xander, you have to get over Ace Frehley and 10,000 volts. My opinion only. Your choice. But for information purposes, Ace uses the same tone on his guitar on every album. They give interviewers a list of things they are not allowed to ask about certain subjects. There is only one KISS, he was using a what if analogy. I do thank you for some of the information you gave me today on this episode, that I wasn't aware of. Another great episode! I wanted to comment on the way Gene and Paul talk about different records in their catalog. I understand being self-critical but do they not want people to like them? I enjoy COS, love the Elder and really like Unmasked more recently. I've read that Gene said of Unmasked he wouldn't even want to play it for his own mother it was so bad. C'mon Gene...it ain't that bad. They should embrace the diversity in their music and not be so meh about it. There are tons of fans of the stuff they don't like and I could tell you both feel the same way I do. They should at least be more neutral in their comments even if they don't really like it. Soul Station is weak. Let's be honest. Paul's voice is toast so singing those classics is not possible without autotune or now AI. I want the Avatars. A cool idea would be to do a show where they went through every tour as the set goes along starting from a club show at the beginning. The ABBA one is fantastic. Hopefully they do it where it's at least a classic show like '78 and they look real. Not like the cartoon images we saw. Hopefully by selling their rights it takes decisions away from Gene and Paul, who don't seem to know what KISS fans want.
It's a shame that you feel that way about Soul Station, and Paul's voice. Singing those songs for him at the age he is at is pretty damn good. However, he has more than enough time in the day to work on KISS stuff. I am 54 and can still do my job. But if I was worth 350 million dollars and needed assistance to do the most basic part of my job I wouldn't quit if it brought me happiness but the happiness comes from work imho. So not doing the work is weird to be getting pleasure from it. So I think he should concentrate on what he still can do without major assistance.

Rock bands have been using backing tracks since the 70's while playing live, and I am talking about the major bands that you may like so much. I keep my expectations to a minimum for the biopic. I just hope its truthful and not watered down to what makes Paul and Gene look good. My hopes were killed when Motleys The Dirt came out. What a piece of crap. The book is one of THE best rock bios ever released and the movie was more a parody.
I’ve stopped going out of my way to listen to Gene or Paul interviews for many years now. Every time I’d listen to one it was the same old canned lines over and over-if you’ve heard one interview you’ve heard them all. They are like the used car salesmen of rock. Lol. If what they are saying isn’t just downright silly it’s over the top and just meant to sell something or convince people of something else. Nothing feels genuine. Too guarded and concerned with controlling the narrative to just be real and honest. Listening to them just feels like a waste of time. Everything they say is a “I’ll believe it when I see it” moment for me. I love and appreciate all the music and fun over the years, so it’s no big deal. But I can’t get excited over yet another scripted, corny batch of canned salesy answers:) As for the avatars, I don’t think either really has a clue exactly how they are gonna be used. So that’s a wait and see for me. They should probably just stop talking about them and let Pophouse do an official announcement when they are ready and have some real news to share. Everything they’ve said so far seems a bit too vague and it’s hard to take any of it at face value.
A non concert avatar show? Sorry..that would likley be short-lived in appeal beyond the most die-hard of KISS fans. An avatar show that looks like a concert but includes fantastical elements? Sign me up!. Stepping away from the successful structure of the ABBA show would be a big mistake. Pophouse are pro's, but so was Bob Ezrin and he went happily and delusionally down the garden path with KISS to disaster with the Elder. Smart business and creative people can be (and have been) as prone to drinking the odd batch of tainted KISS koolaid as much as Gene and Paul themselves. The magic of KISS has always been their music and live shows. The members not being depicted as musicians in the avatar show sounds like a recipe for disaster right out of the gate. It may be better for Gene and Paulto have little real involvement in the devination of what ultimately unfolds creatively with the avatar show, other than choosing the songs to include. Do they have veto power over the show's proposed design? Sure, as they should, it is their legacy. But please let Pophouse put together a show that will have staying power as a commercially and creatively viable product. This is probably the case as they basically sold Pophouse the farm as goes their IP, likenesses and catalogue.
Don't buy advanced tickets to Gene. There will be tons of great seats everywhere. Just go to the show and walk around and someone will sell great seats for cheap. It never fails. I never buy advanced tickets anymore.
Paul is KISS. Without Paul there is no KISS. So Paul’s album was the best. Everyone even says it’s the most KISS like. So anyone who disagrees isn’t a real KISS fan.

The original script is what they should use for the biopic. Would make for a more focused narrative as well as better paced.

Paul is KISS. Without Paul there is no KISS. So Paul’s album was the best. Everyone even says it’s the most KISS like. So anyone who disagrees isn’t a real KISS fan.
