The distress for banks was a farce; what we have experienced in the past 2 years is a result of a system that has worked incredibly well. The Fed just had to tighten credit to cool the economy.
What about the Fed lending program for banks that was said to ease financial tensions after the domino effect from Signature and Silicon Valley bank?

I agree. Rising productivity is manna for central banks, allowing faster growth without inflation because each hour of work yields more goods and services at the same cost.

Last year someone asked Janet Yellen about exchange rates over GDP which evolved into a rant about Germany's immigrant policy. Biden's not the only one having cognitive and performance oversights.
I saw some of that reporting and have listened to her on other occasions. Yellen probably can’t retire until forced out as her successor would uncover all of her incompetence.
I cannot even listen to that woman anymore. Aside from her often incoherent ramblings and never-ending contradictions, that voice alone drills right through my brain.

I quit college economics once the book got past the true stuff like supply and demand and got into BS that doesn't work in the real world. Colleges are still using the same textbook by Samuelson.
I'm not an economist yet I know if you have more money in circulation, you devalue the money. We print money to replace money that gets destroyed.

THATS why we 'borrow'. we promise to pay back to the Federal Reserve with interest. the IRS is the collection agency for the Fed Reserve. the reason the fedgov pushes (HARD) to get a SSN for your children, they fedgov is using that 'registration' of your kid's earnings, as future collateral against borrowing money from the FEDRES

The Federal Reserve is a private bank, it is contracted by the treasury to print our money and then we borrow our money from the private bank, that is why we have to pay interest because the government isn't really printing the money.
