I'm just another beginner that wants to say thank you sir for these lessons. The 1000 ELO level is getting beyond me, but I find I can still follow along and learn stuff. I admire that you can put yourself in the mindset of chess well below your talents. Intentional humility is a sort of genius.
Aman did a hell of a job with this habit series, I like the fact that he is losing games to show us mistakes we should avoid. Very helpful, plus this all cartel story is hilarious
Hi Aman, I just wanted to thank you so much for providing this incredible content. It has signifcantly help improve my play with a solid foundation. Up to Mid 900's now :) Hope you know you are appreciated!
Thank you to everyone on this channel for making these videos. In just 5 short months I've improved from 800 to around 1130. And thank you to Aman for playing well below his level just to prove that these tips actually work even when making the mistakes I would normally make. Can't wait to get just a little bit higher and start the King's Indian videos.
Aman, u do know that, these series goes beyond chess right? It transcends into life, work, health, play etc. And if we develop our own good habits for work and play, it would be only fair to say that our life would be principled and turn out better at the end of each gift of 24 hours/day. We appreciate the time and efforts you have taken to showcase us these simple but beautiful tips. One question, your STONEWALL speed run, doesnt it play on these very same principles? centre stage asap, develop asap, castle asap, strong centre....the stonewall is the living proof of this...same goes for the Vienna opening/gambit. ..the gambit however are tactics but the Vienna game is a good solid opening. What do you think? Greetings from Billy, India. 22/7/23 Today i made my own building habits for my morning work outs and to work...thank u Aman for making me a better version of myself today than yesterday. Billy. India.
The Habits, it's like Painting by Numbers and ending up as a proficient Artist but in Chess; as they say " Little Hinges swing Big Doors" , so get swinging Guys and the doors will open... (To higher Ratings).
I've been refreshing youtube for these VODs to be uploaded lol. I know I could probably find this on twitch somewhere, but I'm taking my time and soaking in the knowledge one step at a time.
What a great channel, really instructive and fun to watch. After struggling to progress for a couple of years around the 1000 elo mark I have changed my game to follow the habits and am definitely improving and enjoying my chess. Thanks Aman!
I feel he builds it as a serie. So he will assume you know what he talked about before. On his main channel, you have the main points for all the ratings. You should maybe check it out. :-) Good luck man
The whole "Indian" cartel narrative in this episode is hilarious. I died from Arshad8 younger brother aakash, who got some learning to do with blundering two pieces.
And... I am 1100!!! Yeah! Let's go! I'm missing so many things though... And making so many blunders. If I could be just a bit more consistent, I feel I could go upper easily. Thanks a lot. I'm waiting for the 1150 video. :-) That serie is so great! :-)
Today I went 1000+ elo. All thanks to Aman and his habits. started habits at like 600 smething. It took a long back and forth bw 950-880, but i made it. Now i can say i have elo in same digits as Carles magnus. IYKYK
I've been enjoying this series. Does anyone know if the dataset is available for the games played on this series? For example, in PGN format. I think it would be fun to try building a chess bot that follows the habits rules at the different levels -- having the data set of Aman's games could be helpful for that. It would also be fun to try making an AI habits coach that watches you play and points out either in real time or after the game where you deviated from the habits, what tactics you missed, etc.
Go over your losing games & first see if you're blundering pieces, something to be very careful to avoid, of course. Then see if you're missing opponents blundering, got to take those free pieces. Then see if you missed setting up pins, forks & traps. Really if you can follow The Habits, you should progress. Lastly are you playing on a too short Time Frame or too long. I find around 5 minutes suits me, although some times need the 5 second increment. But I'm just slow ! Also try the Puzzles. Tends to sharpen up the thought process.. Good luck & stick at it. I also watch coffechess.com They explain game & tactics after each short game.
I find that luck can really impact it. If you catch a bunch of people playing trappy openings and weird gambits it can be frustrating. I got up to 900 3 times, only to fall right back down to low 700's, before finally just yesterday breaking 1k after the 3rd climb. I can say if you stick with it and really avoid blunders it does work, even if you're bad like me.
I hear you! Not knowing why is the real pain point imo. I’d be happy to take a look at a recent game or two & I’d learn something, too! If you’d like that maybe reply with your username on whatever chess site you use. And keep checking out this wonderful series with the rest of us!
Once habits came out I felt myself getting better, but I swear people in general have been getting better too. I haven't played rated in quite some time because of it, not even breaking 800 yet lol
I'm gonna be honest. I don't get the whole habits thing. Feels like you're just playing moves because they're 'habit' even if they're not good. It's like you don't want the players to think, and rather just play the habit moves even if they're bad and will lead to worse positions. Also I used to hate chess because I used to play the four knights or bishops opening every single game. And my opponents did the same. Every single game was the same and the game was boring af. I liked playing less common opening even they're not 'the best' but at least the games will be fun!
For anyone wondering what happened to arshad from game 1, he got banned for using cheat engine
lol
No he said he was a CM in chat
😂😂
@@mikeock2087 No actually, he got banned, @Manhetna is right, i just checked his profile, this was his last game. toxic and a cheater.. lol
Way better than a 1000 and trash talking the whole way, seemed obvious his account would be closed when I searched for it. 🤣
I'm impressed that Aman stuck to his guns instead of turning on the GM to clap that little cheater in game 1
Aman made every mistake imaginable.
@@noncomplacent wow you're so smart, yet you haven't figured out the point of this series yet.

just hit 1100, this is legit the best series of all time

This series is literally a game changer! Don't buy any stupid chess course, just watch this carefully.
Right? It's the ABCs of chess when everyone else is explaining how to write an essay
I've only watched like 1h of this playlist and I got a brilliant move after 4 games. This series is gold.
I'm still waiting for YokedNando to bully you 💪
That game 1 is the reason I never turn chat on, online world is just too toxic (even if one in 20).
Thank you for great series :)
Game 5 was so fun to watch "just an inbetween move" xD
I started watching this series cause it was fun and my rating decreased 😂
I'll get back to the series when 1500+ is released. ❤️
I feel he builds it as a serie. So he will assume you know what he talked about before.

I’ve learnt so much from this series. Thanks Aman.
GM getting called a noob was priceless! Poor Aman!
What an adventure this part 16 is !!
Thank you.

Arshad was *not* playing around 😳
Who talks shit while cheating?
@@Raugturi i suppose Arshad wanted to feel like the man
1:11:46 Instead of saving the hanging bishop white had mate in three. 1.----Q-d8+ K-b7, 2.B-d4+ K-h6, 3.Q-b5 mate.

Man how does Aman make it look so easy… I feel like the ppl I play with are playing like gods
Aman - Thank you! I finally cracked 1,000 because of your "habits" and basic openings.
Luvin;' this whole series... Never thought I would get so much enjoyment out of watching another person play chess !
Ready for level 3!
best video of the entire serie
45:54 "WAT" lmao I love that game
Such a graceful reaction - worth studying
Fantastic video, educational and entertaining as the rest in the series!
NegoTigas got arshad to start playing for him half way through the game
Best series ever.
Thanks for uploading the full series!
I cannot believe that Aman autopiloted to a higher ELO than me in this video. 😭 I think attack pawns in the endgame is my weakness.
At 52:03 "In between move" 😁😁😁
46:44 *hangs queen on purpose*
Okay let's continue, free piece hahahaa
Bruh arshad was tweaking💀
55:43 Mate in 1 - Lol - I still say these are the best chess lessons I have seen.
They can block with bf1 sadly
Just for the record game 5 was firkin great!
My favourite chess streamer right here
I’m postponing a funeral to watch this
45:48 Made me laugh so hard 😂
Great series, i always liked before watch these videos
We are edging closer to Yoked Nando... and I'm excited
21:59
Please upload the rest of the series quicker! 🙏
300 to 570 and moving on!
This is absolute best🔥
Love this series....getting my ass kicked far less often
I'd like to think Arshad is hanging out with Pooja in a little cafe somewhere, playing chess.
best series
58:12. Instead of the bishop move, Pb4 wins a bishop for a pawn.
It's sad people will cheat and feel no shame even go as far to talk shit while cheating 🤣🤣
Thank you thank you thank you thank you
Not being able to look at basic moves & simple consequences in a position really starts to hurt at this level it seems!
48:24 didnt play h6, bad habits
Aman save the Queen!
I’ve been on a losing streak and I don’t understand why. I worked up to 824 and now I’m like 712

Fundamentals for algorithms
Arshad8 was Eric's secret smurf account
Can someone PLEASE tell me the name of the song in the outro
i'm honestly not sure if watching this is making me better or worse at chess lol, kinda frustrating
Game 7
13:58 and he was immediately banned.
Game one he said he was a CM in chat
I'm building habits
Funny this was the last game played by Arshad8
29:55 lmao
Poor Arshad.
F that guy
Aman is a troll lol. I don't see the check mate lol
Arshad is 100% a cheat
Who tf plays Kf1 ranked 1000 . Dodgy asf.
That always take trades stuff in game 6 was BS. You can physically see Aman fighting his GM brain to not play rook D1 for back rank mate. Lol.
Bishop f1 blocks
arshad8 is banned fair play
52:15 hahahahahaha
the indians are coming after me....lol, the cartel.
ha. He plays a lot late at night. When I play late I get like 75% Indian players... and they're generally pretty darn good.
that arshad was so annoying
Indians typically are
Trash talking through a chess text chat has to be the softest thing I've ever seen.
29:13 there is this check mate line. Qxf6 QxRb1, (yeah sac the rook), Qxf7+ Kh1, Qg7#
