Yep. Me and my brother spent time at our grandparents house spreading dandelion joy all over their huge lawn. Just loved blowing on them and watching then float, especially in the evening as the sun was setting. They were beautiful at that time of day. Thanks for reminding me of that time so long ago. 👏👏👏😎

Hi, E, the first flower my husband of 55 years gave me was a dandelion & I still have it! Yes, I blew them & taught my kid’s & grandkids how to blow them, some sweet memories! Hope Bethany had a wonderful birthday! Those are very cute, I love the things you make! TFS! 🥰

Love the dandelion papers. We used to call them Santa Clauses. We would make a wish and blow.
So cute. I like them when the paper is lighter but pretty and doesn't require a lot of stuff on them. There's plenty of room to journal. The second had a lot of journaling room. The little white she cut off like you had on the third one. Tfs

My older two loved blowing dandelion fluffs until my daughters eye started getting water blisters on her eyeball. One of the fluffs got in her eye and she was allergic to them. Who knew?? I love this idea and the dandelion papers are gorgeous. Take care, enjoy your outing with your granddaughter.

I. LOVE. DANDELIONS! My great-nephew calls them Jonnie flowers because he saw so many of them in my yard.(He heard my grandsons calling me Nonie and thought they were saying Jonnie!🥰)

We used to call them wishes. We would make a wish and then would blow the dandelion seeds to send our wish on its way. To who knows where but it's a fond memory. 🥰

As always, very lovely. I still love dandelions to blow in the wind. I hate them in my lawn, but if I didn’t have dandelions, I wouldn’t have a lawn.
The first thing my dad would do when he came from work, he would dig up any dandelions growing in our front yard (I think I was forbidden to blow the seeds). He also made dandelion wine. When I was little, my friends and I would pick a dandelion, put it under our chins and call them buttercups. Don’t remember the rhyme, but must of meant something to us. Thanks as always for sharing and inspiring.

Girl that is such a good memory for me... making a wish and blowing all the white feathery looking second stage of a dandelion life! My kids and I did after they died down in the yard. But they used to go out with your paper sacks and Gathering when they were yellow and new and we will clean them up and put them in flour batter and fry them and season to taste in in the skillet with in a little grease. They almost taste like mushrooms! Have you ever ate dandelions or just the greens Miss E? Now I do it with the grandkids
But they call them the wishing flowers now I guess! 😂😅

Nobody in my family called them wishes (which would have been better, mostly.) No, we lived a ways out of town and had pasture and native plants, but very very few dandelions, if any.
My Gran had dandelions. She lived in town. And she had Next Door Neighbors, of all the strange inventions I’d ever heard of. Neighbors who were crazy obsessed with making the little yellow flowers go away. I believe the word the South Next Door Neighbor used was “eradicate”. And, the rest of the block was under dandelion marshal law!
My Gran told me once, sitting on her porch one warm early summer day, as we stared, as if transfixed, at the two small buds almost ready to raised their bright, despised, little yellow heads, that dandelions are the first to come up. She grew up in the country, too. The real country, as I called it-middle of nowhere, sod house, no indoor plumbing, one room school house, South Dakota. “And,” she said, “it was the Depression, you know, and my mother was sick…we little ones, the four out of the seven of us, would run outside and then walk so carefully, up on our tippy toes, and look all over the front yard by the pump and all over what used to be the garden, before the drought, for dandelions. Then, we’d have to wait until they grew just a little bit, and we couldn’t pick them all - or, there wouldn’t be any left to grow some more. Sometimes, with just a little water, there would be two crops of them in one year! Think if that! And boy! those were so good. Dandelion greens, yum, YUM!! “ “Yuck!” I would say any time she said “YUM!”-a little game between us, with faces, and as loud as we could get, until we were laughing too hard to get the words out.
The laughter broke the spell that held while we stared and she spoke, and took the sadness away from her face, except not her eyes. Not all the way.
I think that she, and the youngest three of her brothers, tiptoed, so that they wouldn’t break the hope, they held with their breath.

I was sitting here this mornings trying to decide on a couple more pages to go into a journal. I don't know about you or anyone else, but sometimes I get boarded doing my signature pages the same old way and there you are with your signature pockets.
I had a Great Grandma that used to make Dandelion tea. And U can boil the greens like spinach.
That bone folder is amazing!
PS...our dad would fuss at us for blowing dandelion fluff all the yard spreading the seeds! Our grandmother would tell us they were ferry seeds and the dew in the grass would turn them into fireflies at night. Fond memories.
