Man BeamNG has come so far! I remember the days of RIG's Of Rods and when they started to trial a new graphics engine, then next thing we knew beamng was out.
@rcsibiu lol this was on purpose to tip my hat to my old tiktok livestreams. This was the same angle I used over on that platform for a good while with huge success. I do drive barefoot often though too. ;)

Luckily, I literally just got my rig fired back up and updated, so I'm trying out a few races with WRC24 as we speak. I'm heading into the garage to get back to it. I feel like Winter is more of my time to Sim! Do I need to download any updates ro play Beam Rally? Or do I just go on and choose the option?

@ no not discord. beamng forums on their website. you get a link in that warning message when you click on the rally button in the game. thats where all the feedback and suggestions should go for them to read them
Ya, I do wish it had a bit more verticality but it's pretty awesome for rally games. Not so much circuit racing because you can't see out your right window but luckily for me it's very well suited to the rally stuff! ;)
Im not a sim racer but one of the things that i always wanted in beamng like u. Is saving the damage on ur car. I want it to be saved not only physical damage but anything u have consumed on ur last drive.
@@SleepyPantsSimRacingyeah, tire wear is not out yet. Consumable things may get extended like oil, electricity, anything comes to mind that makes the car more challenging to drive makes me have more fun. But this is more like a dream i dont ask the devs for it.
@KeepoHdee i mean, there are limitations to how large and detailed a map can be, but if you've played the game and just roamed around, they are pretty damn big areas. For replicating real roads, this would be difficult, but for fantasy locations that just feel real, artists could simply add more twists and turns to make a stage feel longer in the same amount of space. What's key to the equation is connecting roads. If you have enough connecting roads and alternate paths, you can make a ton of different variations to the same set of roads. And of course, forward and reverse layouts double everything that's possible. Maybe i should make a pretend rally to demonstrate what I expect in the future for this rally mode.
Why i want more focus on rally is cause this is the only game that makes me feel iam on the edge of my seat one small crash and it could be over. Dirt Rally 2.0 is great in that sense it makes you feel like a real Rally driver like you are a seasoned driver, but in BeamNG that game humbles you and you realize how much of a rookie you are.
@TheFriedAim there is already so much groundwork they've done. All that's left is just someone to put the peices in order. It can be done right now i think. We have enough cars to fill multiple categories, we have enough maps from the base game to start it off already and God only knows how many community made maps and cars that people could use for this same goal.
I like the angle. BeamNG has tons of potential. Will be awesome this. I could not figure out how to reset the car. Did not work as in free roam. But I guess it is easy to fix.
I have a gravel rally stage coming out soon. It's made from many lidar sections pieced together to form a big loop [about 19km]. In the trailer description there is a link for the best purpose built Rally car for BeamNG. Ignore the looks, it's all about the feel with a direct drive wheel.

Really looking for feedback on my calls, as well as what sort of customization people want from my pacenotes system. I'm also really excited about the possibility of stage to stage in this game, hoping to see something like that eventually!

As I will not buy WRC I would gladly play BeamNG Rally. I mean they can do so much with it already and BeamNG would not need to be a Rally exclusive and still develope the other branches. I am still keen on the career mode and I hope next year they will bring some updates to it.

I also find it more hard to discover cause I m Italian ... would be amazing build real stages taking topography maps and modelling ...then organize everything else ..maybe also the transfert between stages and park ...can be crazy good idea... I m little bit sad that the major doesn't create nothing real...they doesn't even add other player on the same track like happen ..ok not easy for the CPU ...there is a lot of work to do and experiment! There is already too much sense of speed for how fast I'm going here in this video for me personally. The hood cam does allow for a lot more screen real estate though.
im pretty much just struggling with the force feedback of beamNG. its either ripping of my hand or dead 😑 hope to see all the basic rally features at one point tho.
I like the game itself, but I find the UI in BeamNG very awkward, convoluted and sometimes buggy (especially in VR) where I just can't muster up the courage to load it up in case I find myself fighting to get it working more than driving. Has anyone else found this? Does it ever become intuitive to navigate and troubleshoot? If they ever do a UI overhaul, I'll be first in line to give it all I've got.
@AustenValentine no it is NEVER intuitive. I actually mentioned that in my first footage i captured but the file got corrupted and I forgot to mention it again. What I am suggesting here in this video though is a dedicated rally mode, that means separate menus focused on purely rally stuff. And much of the menu navigation would preferably be in-game.
I like the angle. It displays a lot of information. For what it is worth I agree with your assessment of things needed in Rally Sims/Games... Which now I have to ask... I wonder what the majority of people want, a SIM or a GAME??? I personally prefer the sim for driving/flying. But maybe that is just me. Got to add this to my Steam. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks man, ya i think it will be a nice main angle. I have a different camera setup coming too that I think will be nice to get the head shots. But this is the absolute most i could get in the frame and still have it feel immersive with my head out of the way. Ya, most people would prefer the game but sim racers aren't most people. :)
If BeamNg invests more in Rally I would buy it. BTW WRC kinda had ''open world'' driving, it was fun... The ffb looks non existent, never took BeamNg seriously, still not sold...
Ya the open practice areas in wrc games have been pretty cool. Maybe someone can mod that portion of the game eventually. And yes ffb has always been beamng's Achilles heel for many users. I am very happy with it personally because it feels realistic to my hands but I also understand my preference is not everyone's preference and that the adjustability can be vastly improved.
@SleepyPantsSimRacing I think there is still room for optimization, but even so, at this moment, thanks to Vulcan API, I am able to maintain a steady 72fps on a 7900xtx nitro+ and 5900x in the case of solo driving and sometimes a few opponents on Quest 3. Let's remember that BeamNG is quite resource-intensive due to its advanced physics simulation.
@kokodzambo3320 i am running that same exact setup. Maybe i need to try it again. I tested it when vr first came back to beam and I didn't have a good experience.
@@SleepyPantsSimRacing Now is much better for me. I'm launching via Link cable through openXR or via VirtualDesktop through VDXR. Recently, SteamVR API is also quite good. If you're playing on a screen while switching to VR you should also disable vertical sync in the BeamNG settings.
there are already things with physics like bales and barriers and cones... it would not be too difficult to make new ones but they would probably suck too much fps for now

Ya!!!! It's one of the biggest things missing from rally sims. That and recce but we have that in modded assetto and modded beam.
I'm always super torn between playing Beam, Generation, or RBR. Every sim has its own pros and cons. Anyway, you're my fave simracer UA-camr, bro!

Having rally stages built in is a huge step forward. Driving from stage to stage is not something Ive ever experienced but sounds cool.

I have mine setup to be on space bar. You can set it for any button i think.

You could install the RLS campaign mod and play the rally challenges in it. Even allows you to build whichever car you want, pretty neat.

try the hood camera and get the FOV to 100 or so. You get a better sense of speed that way

dirt rally2 to me had the best chance to be the most complete rally game if it had open world and to stage to stage driving

they did a overhaul couple of years back and made it worse then previous.. they are simply not good in this stuff..

objects outside the car should also have flex or can break.. its to static , no animations..
