ABOUT THE VOICE
The four-time Emmy Award-winning musical competition series "The Voice" returns with multi-Grammy-nominated Cuban-born singer-songwriter and actress Camila Cabello claiming her red chair alongside superstar returning coaches John Legend, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani. Carson Daly returns as host for Season 22.
The show's innovative format features four stages of competition: Blind Auditions, Battle Rounds, Knockouts and Live Performance Shows. This season's Battle Advisors include Charlie Puth (Team Camila), Jazmine Sullivan (Team Legend), Jimmie Allen (Team Blake) and Sean Paul (Team Gwen). For the first time ever, the third phase of the competition will include three-way knockouts.
In the Live Performance Shows, the top artists will compete against each other weekly during a live broadcast, and the television audience will vote to save their favorite artists. In the end, one artist will be named "The Voice" and receive the grand prize of a recording contract.

Valarie kicked right in with an opening riff and relaxed into the melody. Such a strong presence, solid vocal production, and knew where she wanted to go and got there... with a playful seriousness. - So You Wanna Be A Singer
I loved it, but I felt like she was giving us a bit too much vibrato in the beginning!
You could see, she was battling with them nerves, hands trembling and all but still killed it!

Appreciate how John turns as soon as he likes someone. Other coaches stay till another judge turn or till the end to turn even if they like the person which makes good singers unnecessarily nervous

Valarie has an amazing voice and I loved the song choice for her! She KILLED that! She reminds me of Pia and Libianca. She gave us all something very special and she's a really unique and special artist that could go really far. Her runs and riffs are crazy! She could honestly give us more runs and riffs as well if she wants to do that. The more the better. I love when people do it even if it's a lot. You could also tell she wasn't nervous at all honestly. She showed a lot of confidence.

I actually agree with Camila, Valerie’s an amazing singer, but I not sure if that song did her any favors, but she definitely good enough to make it to the battles!
I absolutely love Camila, but she was absolutely wrong! This song is beautiful and a classic soul song. She’ll have time to explore other genres during the show, but she had to show off her voice in the audition. Camila just can’t sing like Valerie so therefore can’t coach her.

it´s too bad that they show who the singer is ending up with a coach in the thumbnail. Takes away a lot of the surprise and excitement.
I know Gwen didn’t have any ill intentions, but I find it very sketchy that black women are the only ones that get the “there are other singers like you/there are other voices in your lane”. Only reason why I think that is because we’ve had multiple seasons where there were multiple country singers, multiple WGWGs, multiple white girls that sound like Taylor or Billie but that critique is never applied to any of them. Not necessarily saying the show is racist because there’s been seasons with many black female singers but even then the fandom typically acts like there can only be one and all the “there’s others like her/we’ve heard voices like hers before” comments start to pour in. This is something that’s been happening since the earlier seasons & it’s getting pretty tired.

Yep, BW always have to be twice as good to go half as far, and still haven’t won a SINGLE season on this show. Look at Wendy Moten - a professional, Whitney-level singer on Blake’s team and still couldn’t catch a break!
