He won a championship for the Lakers. It was a success. People just have ridiculously unrealistic expectations for Lebron because he's performing so well even at an older age.

I think you forgot to mention Andre Drummond signing, which hurt the Lakers fit badly on 2021, and the pressure big 3 nets put on them to find another superstar
I think you’re right I couldn’t fathom why they made that Westbrook trade but I saw another comment recently saying they were trying to match the nets big 3 after they got harden and the lakers wanted a 3rd star
@impacc4182 just imagine you being the GM, you have LeBron for 3 years and he was badly injured in 2 of them. Along with that you don't know how many years he got left (at this point we know it's how much he wants to, but we didn't back then). AD can't hold it alone, specially with that big 3. 2021 title was hold back because of injuries
So yes, looking for a third superstar wasn't so insane at that time
I’m going say this as a Lakers fan, I’ve been enjoying his time with lakers. He brought us a championship back in 2020 and the lakers this year have a huge opportunity to win a championship this year. I love this squad and the depth we have is unlike anything I’ve seen
The LeBron era was the most embarrassing era to ever been a Lakers fan. I'm a Lakers fan for 20 years, I'm 32. 2021 was the greatest catastrophe in the history of NBA basketball bar none. A natural born loser, a joke of a man, a failed hypejob that played with 100+ all stars in this career of failure and defeat, and what does he have to show for it? 6 finals losses, 3 sweeps, 2 bronze medals, 100 playoffs losses (all time record) 33 finals losses (all-time record) a 22-33 finals record ( 40% win rate ). There is a whole list of players greater than this bum. He's not even top 10 all time.
Hoping 2024 is the lakers year. NBA so interesting in the 2020s
Despite being in LA for 5 years and his tenure seemingly reaching its end, the franchise looks to have a bright future going forward and potential championship aspirations.

I really wish Bron didn’t get hurt that first season with the Lakers. Would’ve been very interesting to see how that young core would’ve do in the playoffs.
Realistically if they wanted to win a championship that young core was not the answer they were talented fs but I they wouldn't have been enough .
@@rohangupte3545 yeah completely agree. I’m just curious to see what it would’ve looked like come playoff time. Would they have blossomed when the lights got bright or would they stink up the joint?
lebron the 2018 cavs too the finals, im preeeeetty sure he wouldve faired well
@@envymeh_people don’t even remember they were the 4th seed halfway through the season before lebron got injuried then ingram then lonzo
As a Warriors fan, I venture to say LeBron has had 4 HOF careers throughout his career.
CLE 2003-2010 Never averaged below 21ppg, 7x all star, 2 MVPs, finals appearance
MIA 2010-2014: 4x Allstar, 2 MVPs, 2 championships, 2 FMVPs
CLE 2014-2018: 4x all star, 1 championship, 1 FMVP
LAL 2018-2023: 5x all star, 1 championship, 1 FMVP
There's nothing to discredit any of his accomplishments or say LAL is a disappointment. Tbh, he should probably have 3 jersey's retired by 3 different teams.
Listen I still think it’s crazy how the bubble was so called a fluke when them same four teams were the last four teams standing this year
Why do people hate the bubble ring? Didn't all the teams played that year?🤔
It’s only because of the end result. Bron/lakers haters are a cancer, I vividly remember everyone loving the bubble up until the clippers choked and the lakers won the chip
You can give an asterisk to basically every championship in the NBA…
The bubble was the hardest competitive championship I’ve witnessed in my life. A lot of nitty gritty competitors did not make it and crumbled under the pressures of the entire world.
I was born on the last year of Jordan’s second three peat.
Put it like this, most nba franchises would rather have had the run the lakers have had in the last 5 years then what most often get, no matter what you think of the 2020 ring I bet you embid would take it, curry would take it, kawhi, KD, Russ or dame would gladly take that 2020 championship and not think twice. We gotta stop acting like winning a championship and having these kinda runs is easy because most teams don’t even get 1 championship or make 1 finals or even a conference finals
Fax these trolls just put an asterisk on the bubble because lebron and the lakers won it
He came in at 34 to a lottery team and was expected to win a championship, and did it.
Sounds like a success to me.
AD came and won the chip for the Lakers. He was the reason as the best player
I don't think it could be considered a dissapointment at all when they won a chip
It’s crazy to think that we could’ve had more Finals appearances these last 5 years if not for injuries..
Nah lebron really him. The post-Kobe era was before lebron revived the team was probably the worst stretch of lakers basketball since before the 1980s. I really never thought lebrón would be able to win. Then watching him lead the team in the bubble and close it out, you just know he’s really that guy. It actually will be sad to not see him in the league one day.
Fun fact: As of 09/2023, Lebron and KD haven't faced each other since 12/25/2018 the game Lebron pulled his groin
It’s wild how good this team would have been without the Russ trade and the fact they managed to salvage the team and make it a conference finals contender
I actually forgot that pre-corona Lakers were 24-3... That's insane!
P.S. no love for Rondo
Some haters may call it disappointing, but still, LBJ in LA, and also Anthony Davis... They still have one more championship that the Sixers, Celtics, Clippers, Rockets, and Nets combine. Also, one more ring that PG13, CP3, JH13, Embiid, Kawhi, Butler, Tatum, Brown, Booker and Kyrie, combine
I think he did great for the Lakers, but if he has a personal goal to surpass Jordan, most people aren't convinced with 4 championships. Clearly, that wasn't his top priority, but if it was, he could've gone to New Orleans and played with Davis for a couple years and then go together to L.A in free agency. It would've give him more chances to win championships.
@@ArkhamDeluxehe’s talking about since they formed their new teams dude
Yes, it's disappointing because no real Lakers fan really got to enjoy that championship. The goal was to come back the next year and win back to back. Which would've put the league on notice for 3 in La, which no one even remembers the first ring and his 1st 3peat. Without that bubble ring, he has 3 legitimate rings. I say legitimate because of the no travel, no fan yelling, and playing a team as weak as the heat was. The easiest ring in the last 40 years. The easiest path to the finals when he was in the east. Yes, he played some great teams in the finals. If he was out West for 20 years, does he really make finals 10 times. He made it to the finals once in 5 years. Against no competition with a top 5 teammate on both ends
I've always wondered why they blew up the mcgee, howard and AD trio after just one run. While they were on the decline, they still had the xp and iq + it gave Ad time to rest during some stretches. In the world of going small ball, that big lineup + lebron was a matchup nightmare that no one could answer.
The 2021 team was mean and even better than 20 imo. We were just unlucky because of ad injury (shortened vacation) and bum ass solomon hill decided to dove into lbj ankle

lakers in 5
Definitely better than what I expected
LeBron really is the most hated athlete ever, he really can’t do nothing without getting hated, and imo it was has been a successful stint especially with all the critics saying they would never win a championship, the only real losing season that wasn’t impacted by injuries was the 2021-2022 season, 2019 and 2021 where stopped by injuries, this past season was a success considering they bounced back all the way into the WCF when people said they wouldn’t even make it past the play in let alone deep in the playoffs
Even 2022 like you said, LeBron was individually great, but AD missed 41 games.
@@ry_an. people make excuses for everyone lol, what point are you trying to make? Are unrealistic expectations imaginary or something?
@@BlueGrovylewhich is precisely why it’s pointless to use the injury excuse. That applies to other teams as well. People need to not act like the Lakers were the only team with injuries.
I wouldn’t say it’s a complete disappointment it’s just not as good as I thought it’d be. I thought he’d win at least 1 title but I also thought they’d be more competitive than they’ve been but we also didn’t know they’d panic and get Westbrook which really set them back at the time
Really? Win a title in general because the turn around from trading the youngsters was massive I didn't see that coming tbh
It was honestly worth watching the Westbrook experiment before somehow getting into the WCF imo. Some of the most bizarre shit ever. I still watch those Westbrook blooper reels from time to time and it's like viewing an alternate reality. Hilarious.
The amount of hate for the lakers for winning the title in 2020 is more than the clippers not winning shit 😭
Notice how brons lakers have gotten a lot more hate over these pass 5 years then kawhi clippers when they choked in the bubble and have only barely made a conference finals
I'm just amazed what a rollercoaster it has been, from complete disaster with the young ones, to champions in the bubble with fantastic role players, to injuries and the nets leading to terrible decisions and then back from the ashes with a couple of homerun trades.
His tenure in LA has been a success. If he wins 2 more chips and POSSIBLY 2 more finals mvps here in LA (Ik that's a big if), bro the goat argument would get shaky. I think that's why he gets the extreme amount of hate till this day because subconsciously whether jordan stans wanna admit it or not he would have a VERY valid case. Hopefully they win at least one more chip before it's all said and done.
Jordan never won a championship as a Laker, so he's automatically out of the GOAT running. That's just the rule.
10:20 congrats to Jalen Hood-Schifino for getting drafted 💯 good shit big dog
The Lakers won a championship the year I was born in 2000, so they've always been my team. LeBron James has always been my favorite player, so deep down I always wanted this to happen. I'm not going to lie, when the initial move happened and it seemed that LeBron just went to the Lakers on blind faith, I too questioned the move. But then I saw Anthony Davis's "That's All, Folks!" shirt and thought that maybe something was in the works; when they won in 2020, I was elated and I'm thinking the Lakers can win at least one more championship with this roster.

The Lakers also won the year that I was born, 2010, and I've always been a LeBron and Lakers fan, coincidence?
if i think about his tenure from the perspective i had when he signed in 2018, it turned out much better than i thought. but if im thinking about if from when ad signed, i feel like it shouldnt be a disappointment cuz they won a championship but it still kinda feels like one with how the last 3 seasons prior to the 2023 playoffs went
It’s crazy that each of Bron’s championship teams (MIA/CLE/LAL) are HoF (or borderline) careers in and of themselves.
LeBron would have at least one more ring here if he didnt convince Rob to do that horrible Westbrook trade. they absolutely would have repeated in 2021 if AD didn't get hurt. should have kept that team together.
Oh no… not one of these… I hope you know that LeBron wanted Damian Lillard and Rob turned around and said “I”ll get you a washed up ball hog instead”

Ik imma get called a "bronsexual" for this but I don't care. Isn't it funny as hell that lebron and lakers have gotten WAYYYYYYY more scrutiny and hate while winning a chip then kawhi and the clippers for barely making a conference finals? it's insane kawhi dropped a commercial claiming LA was his city just for Bron to win a championship that next season. If Bron claimed LA as his city we would never hear the end of it
Just imagine if they would’ve kept their team together
I think it comes with some highs and lows overall. The thing you also want to add that LeBron James won another championship and finals MVP but he also missed the playoffs twice due to roster construction but I truly believe if they never had traded for Russell Westbrook and got either buddy hield or DeMar DeRozan they would have been in a better chance when the playoffs come.🏀
Anthony Davis was missing both seasons after he got traded, the years they missed the playoffs. It wasn’t only roster construction.

I feel like this year is shaping up to how 2019-20 was… they make good moves in the off season after a disappointing 18-19 and look at how that year turned out. For them health is the number 1 factor in their success. If the team can stay healthy they are probably going to the finals if not winning it
The issue is LeBron is older now and can’t play as many mins as he used to. AD was great last season but he’s always an injury liability. I’m not sure the Lakers can field a better team than Denver this upcoming season tbh.
@@JevonDS I mean that is true Lebron is getting older but he still showing that he can play at a high enough level… the team just got wayy deeper in depth and AD does have his health problems but when healthy he can carry the team. The nuggets were the team to beat but I think it’s gonna be different this season. If u remember they did sweep LA but almost all four games were close aside from game 4 i believe
It might seem great in hindsight - but i fully believe that he'd have won another ring in Cleveland given the same 5 years to make something happen.
It was great but I think it could've gone better if the top players and management didn't suggest and got Westbrook. It was crystal clear it won't work. They had simple formula to follow in order to win, have shooters outside and a big beside AD since he doesn't like to play the 5. It was that simple but somehow nobody from the top could follow it. 🤷♂️
As a lifelong Laker fan, I originally wasn’t a fan of LeBron coming to LA. LA is Kobe’s city, seeing all of these bandwagon LeBron fanboys come over here already claiming he’s the best Laker ever without playing for them yet only increased my dislike for him and his fanboys.
HOWEVER, as the years go by, I’ve softened my stance on LeBron and I can say without a doubt that he should be considered a top 10 all-time Laker. Also, anyone still calling the 2020 championship a “bubble ring” are only salty because it’s LeBron and the Lakers. They wouldn’t be putting asterisks on it if Miami won
I bleed purple n gold but LEBRON BROUGHT US BACK! and there’s more to come 😎 LAKERS IN 6

Bronny needs to get healthy 1st, I think people need to slow down with the NBA talk
People forgot that the Lakers were roping the Suns (who made it to the finals) before AD got hurt
The only thing I’m mad at is that the warriors got Chris Paul, and not the Lakers 🥲 Would’ve been nice for CP3 to win his first ring with Bron
Overall a great move, won a chip in year 2 after getting help and honestly could’ve won in 2021 if it wasn’t for injuries
Rob Parker has to be the biggest joke in sports media
As a laker fan when he first came I was hype asf he my favorite player anyway so that was even better, so far they only have 1 ring let’s see if we can get another.

I only asked for 1 championship (w/ the Finals MVP) and he delivered💯 However, he didn't get a parade and I think that's why LeBron hasn't FULLY been accepted by Laker fans.
1 more chip/Finals MVP WITH a parade should do it 💯
Hate that russ trade till this day smh. Not that i dont like russ as a player but the fit on this team never made sense.
Im so happy he got us that chip! It was unexpected
As bad as it was, no one will be more disappointing than the the Nets
The fact that rob pelinka made a mistake then corrected the mistake should be a honor
Russ and AD literally brought back the lakers to playoff position when lebron wasnt playing🥹🔥🤣

I stopped being a lakers fan after they traded the young core and started watching bi and the pelicans
19:13 No. You cant dismiss that year as a "trial run" because then one could omit other players' certain years (ex. early Kobe years and/or Achiiles years; Jordan before he had some resemblance of help and/or those Wizard years); when you do this, it weakens Lebron's case as top 5
I think lebron & AD got 1 more championship in em. Lakers 2024 champs.

Everybody knows that russ is good but also wouldn’t fit with bron and ad bc of the lack of shooting etc. I’m still hurt to see my fav player play in my fav team and just go goofy mode 😢
I miss that 2020 Lakers squad
Considering people at the time wrote it off as playing the rest of his career in Hollywood to be a celebrity, he certainly has exceeded expectations, once again😂
I’m glad u talked about how good they was 2021 Lebron was literally leading da mvp race at a point in time but all I hear is first round exit🤦🏾♂️
Mavs fan here, I wouldn't get TOO excited about C-Wood. If that doesn't work out for the Lakers it's no real loss but there's a very good chance of that. As for his Lakers tenure, it's been chaotic but 29 out of 30 team's fans would be content in the end with a stretch where a championship happened...he just happens to be on the one that isn't lol.
As a Bron fan, I think it's been good. He's won a championship, was the finals MVP, been a 4x all star, multiple playoff appearances, and broke the all time scoring record. I don't know how anyone could be disappointed/dissatisfied with that.
The injuries have been disappointing. I think he might have won MVP a couple seasons ago if old boy didn't jump into his leg. He had just thoroughly man handled Kawhi and Giannis in back to back games on a rampage. Who knows what it would have looked like if LeBron and AD weren't on the sidelines that much since 2020.
He shouldn’t have left Cleveland again. In 2014 he promised to stay and retire there but all that was scrubbed off the internet to protect his image.
What’s the instrumental starting at 3:19 ???
Add "they were swept in the conference finals"

AD has been disappointing. If AD could only play more than 65 games per season and stay healthy, they couldve won 2 rings already.
The people who think Bron's time in LA is a disappointment hold Bron to a standard that no other player has been held to.
They would have won back to back 😔 if AD was not injured, and thanks to Solomon Hill😢.
