hey man!! I know you want to see Tamiya make a 1/5 scale, lol, right?? Maybe years from now they will get the point that there is a huge market for these. Im about to check out your new vids too.
Jan. 22/2022 my 1st time seeing your channel, great source of content, perfect delivery with no added crap. Very happy to subscribe! UA-cam needs more providers to follow such a deliberate method?
hey man, forgot to comment back to you, a while ago. Have you checked out the recent vids I made on this, they are great, some god FPV top speed footage, some destruction and just other necessary stuff.
Hey buddy, you gotta charge the Car's Receiver battery before each run (this is highly recommended). The radio uses basic AA batteries just like all other RCs.
hey buddy!! Yes, at times there are eBay coupons that can be used in any category or only a certain category. I have seen 20%, 15% and 10%. You literally have to check the home page everyday, you never know when and if a coupon will be available. They are basically just a promo code that you will apply in the cart at checkout that will e applied as a gift card towards any qualifying purchase. This past week there was a 10% eBay bucks coupon, not the best, but it's something.
Looks good, but for real driving, isnt this exhaust completely restricting? Heavy weight behind the rear axle, loss of traction and slightest contact leads to torn cylinder outlet?
these are different, I agree. I have not had any really problems yet, but the break in a and general maintenance can be tough compared to an electric! Thanks for watching btw!!!
Hey my dude! Nothing like a nice 1.5 Baja, right? I had this one for a while, recently sold it, in my own testing I got some nice top speeds of 44 MPH and even towed a full size Xmass tree, didn't break anything.
@@hybrid32494 Yes bro the 30.5 screams and it's much better that the hpi. I want to thank you for your video it really put me at ease about buying one.
The price of these are unbelievable. The 29cc Rovan Baja is priced at £374 in the UK. The 30cc Rovan Baja is £500. What are the Rovan Bajas like compared to the HPI Bajas? Build quality, engine performance etc etc.........
@@peterbennpan7288 it’s all how you see it! Realistically in the case of Rovans and Hpi bajas. It’s as close as any replica will ever get!! Is an understatement, and to most who wouldn’t. It’s the one worth doing, hence you couldn’t go baja anyways
I really think the maxima oil is great but it bothers me its not dyed. It can be dyed. Whats your thoughts. Im thinkin on motul at moment but have a bunch of maxima on hand.
hey man!! I agree, the damn color is too close to regular gasoline color. I mean it's fine, overall, the oil itself is very good and relatively cheap to buy. You can still see it in the fuel line, thats all that matters to me, mostly.
hello, YEP. I did notice that. I've checked the torque on the bolts and they seem fine. I have left it as is and not worried much about it. It has not gotten any worse and literally just a bit annoying.
hey buddy! The general rule is to break any gas RC in with a 25:1 mix. Over time and after break in you can safely go to 35:1. Some people even run 50:1 these days and their motors are fine and perform well. Ofcourse this is with the use of the best synthetic 2-stroke oils. I run 32:1 now.
hey man! The Octane was released and discontinued when HPI cut production about 5-6 years ago. Anyways, there are some for sale on the used market, but I would to recommend it. Compared to the Xl K 5.9 Nitro version it was slower and more expensive, also prone to engine failure.
@@hybrid32494 ya I did a little digging. I remember thinking it was going to be awesome. Well my savage is almost ready for its first start in a long time. Cleaned and dialed the engine (axial .28 2s) i don't know much about it really. Not sure if it is more of a low end torque motor or just a mid range runner. I doubt it is a built to have a crazy high speed. Im going to treat it like an average. 28. Ill jabe to dig up the book on it. But I'm only dragging the thing out because I stumbled onto your channel but. So add another nitro to your saved from disgrace list, ha. Now I just have to remember if I shredded the trans when I did that quick electric conversion 10 years ago. But I'll start with getting her running
hey buddy! There are superchargers available for these motors, but they are impractical. These 2-stroke motors are much higher RPM and work on back pressure to draw fuel and air into the motor, a supercharger would have very little effect overall. On a 4-stroke engine they would make sense, because they don't rely upon an expansion chamber (pipe) to create a vacuum as much as these do.
@@hybrid32494 That's interesting to know... So is there any way to put a big ole blower on it? or is it really not worth doing anything to for its pricepoint? Just FYI you're talking to a 15 year old so forgive me for sounding uneducated ...
Never knew you had to break in motors on RC cars, but I guess it makes sense with this larger Rovan gas motor versus regular nitro engines. Either way it should still wear the cylinder to the piston ring and increase compression. I watched a few videos of this car before and everyone complained about how loud it was. Hopefully the silencer will keep it quiet enough that people don't bitch about it lol.
when you hit the throttle this thing is way louder than I showed during break in here, definitely going to need the silencer here. oh and btw you have to break in nitro motors too, it almost the same process as this too. About 4 tanks at idle at first ten about 25% throttle after 3-4 tanks. Best thing about this so far is that unlike the nitro motors these can idle for a long time and not shut off, so refreshing after nitro.
is it a good Daily Driver out of the Box because i had an Amewi Pitbull X and it was a good Deal also after i replaced the Airfilter, Exhaust and the carburettor. i now have nothing at all a Kwad and that i will sell and will get me one of this.
I just checked, the Amewei pitbull X is basically a Redcat Rampage design with a terrible center diff system. This Rovan is a highly optioned HPI baja Clone, and a very good clone at that. mine has not broken in any way since and is fully stock. I got 42 MPH on this. The rovan design is superior to the Redcat design.
@@hybrid32494 Thx 4 the Fast answer :D I only have to Sell my FPV Kwad drone stuff so i will go back to an 1:5 RC Car with Petrol or a 1:8 or 1:10 Scale Crawler
hope you make the purchase soon, trust me the HPI clones are much better than the Redcat design. Even the worst rovan or king motors will blow you away. Only slight bad thing is these are always 2WD, personally i'm happy with it.
@@hybrid32494 so no chance upgrade to 4WD? My Amewi had also only 2WD and it was climping all hills up but i felt in love with the Primal Monster Truck but 2899 is way tooo much for me ^^ and i think it dont fit in my 2019 Toyota Corolla Hybrid :D
bro, you got the new corolla hybrid!! very cool. You know I drive a prius and love hybrids, haha. I get around 50 MPG at all times, more sometimes too. And yes! all the Bajas are always 2WD, although they are fine if you get some good knobby tires like I currently run on mine. Very solid design and easy to use.
hey buddy! Yes, you could. You could run regular 2-stoke oil from any hardware store if you wanted. But it is not recommended by anybody in the hobby. We typically run high performance synthetic racing oil in these motors. I am currently using Klotz Benol 100% castor oil, no issues and it mixes easy.
im a dumbass for ran though almost one tank of idle without 4 heat cycle coolling off. but it seen just fine for a few run now. i just brought this thing 5 days ago. it run great! but is it really bad for my engine for later on?? i was worry, becuase ima dumbass for not reading manual book carefully. but my engine run full power couple times. ran great!. but i need to know if i did ruin the engine for not cooling off 4 times. what you think? my engine is fine.
hey man!! here is the link to this silencer I got, I was quite surprised how effective it was too. www.ebay.com/itm/Rovan-Silencer-Muffler-Quiet-Pipe-Kit-For-1-5-RC-HPI-Baja-5B-5T-5SC-Losi-5ive-T/252699046983?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649
It shows out of stock right now. Is it steel or aluminum? After you get it broken in and tuned let us know if it hurts power bad. It shure takes sharp edge off of the sound.
whats up bro!! You need one of these!!. This was my first 1/5 gas RC and it's never let me down. All the negatives people say about ROVAN is 100% false. They just have unrealistic expectations and like spending money on upgrades which they don't need, LOL.
@@hybrid32494 hey man. I totally agree. There's no way I'd pay full price for a baja when these beauts are about haha. It's gonna be a while before i get one of these. Hey, i done some pull ups with my evo rush around my neck. Pretty sweet lol
hello, do you have a link to the one you are talking about. There are many versions of these, it's hard to say which one you mean. They are all similar though.
hey dude! I never installed a kill switch on this model and it never had a single glitch or run-away. On all my newer gas RCs I always install them at this point. I once has a runaway with a Redcat Rally, that taught me a good lesson, you cannot trust Redcat servos, lol.
Can you tell me if it's safe to use a 2s lipo battery buddy I was just away to Bay it,, but its 4 weeks faster delivery without a battery :@ and cheaper lol iv got a few 2s 2000mAh lipo.s already but not sure if a fully charged 2s lipo 20c will cause any problems lol I feel silly asking lol
hey man!! I've seen people run a 2S on other 1/5 scales, not sure If I've seen it on these. But really the stock battery is a 6V NIMH, I think a 2S would be fine. This is sometime I am not 100% on, but I really doubt that a 2S would cause an issue, I would try hooking it up to a discharged 2S to check first. It's just a basic radio system really, I doubt it would fry anything.
@@hybrid32494 hiya thanks very much yes I ask other guys and it's not a good idea just incase I burned out the servos :$ but I had a perfect working laptop battery and I got 6x3.7v Sony batteries out it lol and iv made 3x 2s packs out of them lol Plus iv got a verable voltage regular I can set to 6v or 7.2v that should be fine my friend hopefully :-)
YEs, they are exaggerating, it'll be fine. The basic Team Losi MT XL runs a stock 2S lipo for the radio system too. The receiver is voltage regulated anyway and send the power to the servos. They do sell the larger capacity hump receiver pack for these, I think 4000mah, thats something to consider if they are cheap enough. My 2000mah stock pack runs fine and I always have the light turned on to.
@@hybrid32494 thanks iv been doing my homework on it plus iv made 3 2s packs from sony 2900mAh batterys from and old laptop lol plus iv made a lead up to plug in with my volt regulator set to 6v bro im sorted and can use 2s 3s & 4s what ever i plug in will be running throw the regulator plus fast charging with my skyRC imax charger lol
happy for you bro. I never had a single issue with this one. BTw I've got many other very helpful vids on this thing, make sure to check them out. About the proper break in and pre-start checks, and all that. Also top speed runs with RPM figures.
@@hybrid32494 I have a five t and a losi mtxl which are both for sale, mainly because I just want something to just race around that doesn't cost $1500
@@huntire6861 Dont quote me on this, but I'm pretty sure all modern 2.4 ghx receivers and even digital servos like the ones in the rovan will easily run on 2S power. I'm not sure if they are advertised as High Voltage servos, but dude, I've run lipos many times. Although I will tell you the stock RX pack is quite good, you should get like 3 hours from a charge (on the safe side).
hey man!! thanks!!! I finally got to start this, I can't even believe it myself, lol. Was pretty tough the first time before I realized I flooded it. I'll prob do a future follow up on the procedure for flooded engines, it' s easy though.
but I am playing in dust so I think I need the air filter cover and shocks cover and some more accessories your LED lights are cool also looking good but I think maybe they simply drain your battery fast and one more thing is this thing comes with the kill switch or not?
hey man, ye most people get the protective outerwares for the shocks, air filter and pull start. This one does not have a remot kill switch, it has an on board kill switch. This is the case for every 1/5 scale model, even very pricey brand name ones. You always have to wire up your own remote kill switch (i will soon). I kept the lights on for a while (2 hours) and no issues. Generally you will chanrge the RX battery anyway within that timeframe.
hey!! thanks for watching!! Soon well see what it's like at speeds. I think the silencer will make a good difference with higher RPM, just curious in the effects really.
Man love this Rovan. It looks well built I honestly can’t tell the difference between this and my old HPI 5B. That silencer makes a pretty good difference in sound. Also that little mixing jug is amazing it’s just the right size I’ll need one this year for my buggy I think. Cheers my friend🍻🇨🇦. (I’m the guy with the Tamiya mad bison haha). I really like that Rovan. And I like your dog haha 🐶
hey tamiya bison guy!!! lol. I finally got around tho starting this, and it wet well. I gotta say the gas motors are easier than nitro to deal with. They just idle so much better and less worrying about over heating. Ofcourse lugging around over 30LB is not easy, I though the 13 LB terra crusher was alot, lol. What I really like about this brand is also the parts and option parts are cheap, unlike HPI. Everything for the BAJA was insane when they came out, even today. I think two wheels were like 80 bucks, NUTS.
Hey man!! They recommend you do 4, but I did about 8 in total (some off camera). It's easy to do on these compared to nitro cars, they idle indefinitely. Just do 10-12 min and shut it off. I also did about 4 low throttle 10 min runs too. I am very old school with motor break in, as you can tell. Thats why my vintage nitro motors always run well, and I've never had to rebuild any!!!
@@hybrid32494 thanks very much i was planing on doing more than 4 myself plus half a cap of 2 stroke down the barrel and give it about 30-40 very slow full pulls to lub that barrel up lol iv been in to motocross all my life bro just treat it like a full engine rebuild and hopefully get a good start in life haha with a easy break in my friend and doubling the heat cycles should give it a longer life and better running
Hi hybrid, I like your videos a lot, I have a question Im a lil scare about the battery pack of the rx. They are nimh and most of their discharge cycle they maintain 1.2volts, then they drop very quickly (even more with that beefy 45kg servo). Is it predictable? Or the car just stops respoonding to controls. Thx
hey man!! thank you for watching!! The basic rule is you charge before every day's run. I at most ran about 2 tanks at once and never noticed any drop in voltage from the RX pack, I highly doubt you will have any issues here. Eitherway there is a built in failsafe in case the system looses signal or has interference somehow (never happened to me). You can always get a higher rated MAHH pack if you want too, but I wouldn't unless you plan to run for more than 3 hours at a time.
let me know if you run into any battery issues, im honestly curious myself as to how long one of them lasts in these things. if you have one that is. thanks..
neon king thanks buddy!!! I try to appreciate all rc for what they offer for the money and history. Most important for me is that they do what they are meant to do, well.
hello, I purchased this silencer separately on eBay. You can find them easy, they are common and cost around 16-20 bucks usually. let me know if you need a link.
Jackk here you go dude. This is exactly the same as mine, different seller though. I cant find the rovan seller on ebay right now. rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F333301707528
I personally recommend getting a fast charger. B6 mini from sky rc works great ( dont be cheap and buy the fake ones it will bite you in the ass ) For 30 bucks... It's charger's: Nimh lipo Al that good stuff.
hey bro, thanks for watching. I only use the included charger because its convenient to charge the battery for this model only. generally I Have a good quality Hobby grade charger for lipos and other batteries. You on point my dude! hope you watch some of my other vids.
@@hybrid32494 I don't want to be a smart ass on this one. Down here in Amsterdam the Grammer is different than over sea,s and so, my bad is in anyway I offended you. The imax b6 mini charger's the battery in 2 hours rather than 8 hours with the charger that comes with the car. Much love from Europe 😁
don't worry bro, I don't get offended, I'm not a chick, ahhhaa. JK. I appreciate all feedback. I use a imax clone charger btw. Honestly the stock pack only takes like an hour at most for me, because I charge it before every run and it's just convenient. Otherwise ye, I only use a hobby grade charger. Greetings from NYC, lets keep this Coronavirus under control, we got people over here panicking, meanwhile i'm filming nitro RC vids, ahahaha.
after my little chat with the neighbor I went to a park (more like a school yard). Let me tell you that the tall surroudning brick walls of the school really echoed the sound of this motor, never heard such delayed echoes. Thats a cool dog you got man, I got one of the more friendly city conditions type smaller dogs, ahaha.
Great video man! Been waiting for this video! 👍 for botajell! Been a sub of his for a while. You and him are my only nitro guys lol. Im outside bashing my granite and typhon as I watch and listen. It's too damm cold here! (Massachusetts)
ye dude BOTAJELL!! taught me alot on here. It was cold there today is MA? im in NYC it was about 45-50 today, so I had to force myself to get this going. I like to do some brushless and some nitro/gas to get it mixed you know, doing only one makes you get used to it and bored I think. Botajell got the E-WORD, lol, you saw that one?

we should all encourage him to get a better E-WORD (some brushless rc) and not a slow boring crawler. I'm kinda done with these scale crawler type rc's they are dominating everything today. I rem back in early 2000's they were getting popular too then just dropped off. I had a tamiya TLT-1 and a small other scrawler, hated both. Ye that big truck he got is my aspiration lol, thats why im starting with this cheap one for now.

Hi , I'm just got a rovan Baja 36cc and was 529.00, and I'm just looking ur baja and looks all like mine, how the I know if my it's real 36cc , or they just cheat on me, all what u have on ur baja looks the same like mine what's the difference, can someone tell me
hello, theres nothing wrong with yours. We have the same equipment other than the engine size. There should be a stick saying 36CC right next to your part plug on the black piece of plastic (the engine cover). Mine says 30.5 CC. Let me know. The 36CC motor is one of the best, btw. You still got a fantastic deal.
I tell u something, this it's the best car I ever have and doesn't matter still have big time fun , I'm starting up grade on aluminum parts thnx bro keep in touch, by the way nice info on the vid, I may throw one latter, on the road👍👍
good luck breaking your's in, thats where most of the learning happens and critical steps. Good luck!! keep me posted on any issues or questions. I just finished the break in steps with mine.
Proper way to start a 2 cycle engine is prime the engine by pressing the primer bulb several times, put choke on fully, pull until it attempts to fire, open choke fully and pull until it starts.
That’s sick dude. If I get a gas it’ll be a 1/5th or 1/6th. They are huge and I think top speeds only 38-48 mph on the majority of them but that’s still pretty fast dude. What company makes this car again ?..... how much is it new ?...... is it suppose to be a straight up knockoff of hpi’s Baja ?......
hey man!! thanks for checking this out!! This is a ROVAN, basically an HPI clone with near identical specs and parts, except it was only 400 (after eBay coupon) on eBay. Check eBay for (Rovan RTR) you will see various version of this one. When these HPI Bajas came out I though they were too slow also, you're right 40 is about top speed for these. Unlike a nitro they have a lower RPM range thats why. I saw ROVAN offers pretty cheap speed gearing sets for these that will let you hit over 50 easy. Thats a future upgrade.
stephen john gray hey man. Thanks for watching!! Do you have a speed gearing set? Because it dont matter if its rovan or king motors, they are the same. Unless you got some really fast model, these are at about 40 mph stock max speeds.
GORILLA BEAR TECH Ye dude, these 1/5 scales are not that fast, and its ok. There are other benefits like cost or running, easy to start and idle, reliable, large size etc. the original hpi naka with the 23cc engine barely hit 30 mph id say.
hey dude! I mean I towed an entire XMASS tree with this same 30cc baja in a video. It seemed very snappy to me, lol. There is a video of that on the channel too for you my dude!!
hey! thanks for watching!! I didn't put a link because there are many sellers that sell these, just search for "rovan RTR" and you will see the listing for these. I just checked and prices have went up slightly, need to wait for the ebay coupon codes to get the great deals, I'm waiting on them myself now too.
hey man!! Just do a search on ebay for "rovan rtr" or "king motors rtr", you will see a whole bunch of listing for these. I recently checked the prices and they have went up a bit, still a good deal though. You gotta wait for an ebay coupon and use it that day. figure a 10-15% coupon is worth like 40-70 bucks depending on price. I'm actually looking for the MGT now, but probably the 4.6 model.
thanks dude!! I really like these 1/5 scale motors compared to nitro, I might have to change it up from my nitro cars to these, they are so much easier to deal with and idel better. Although you dont always want to carry around a 30 LB RC, haha, right...??
Listen everything looks good but first order of business put safety kill switch, when battery power goes below some voltage, your engine should cut off otherwise you will have a run away engine and it is very dangerous. I had a situation with One other gas buggy
Yes, I fully agree that it need a remote kill switch. I am working on insalling one soon. BTW i make sure to charge batterybefore every day's starting and never do more than 2 tanks at a time. BTW i want to ask your advice on the proper fuel storage after runing these. Is this like the nitro cars where you should not leave fuel in the tank for more than a week? Should I run the engine out of fuel?
Well true, you don't want to leave gas in the tank for long periods of time because it can gum up but even 1 or 2 months should not be a big issue since we have to use higher octane. You can put fuel stabilizer which should help a lot. What I found bigger problem is if that stays in the carb it messes up the seal so I run generators turning off the fuel flow and run the carb dry.
I was mostly worries about the carb, thanks for pointing that out. My question really is should I use the cut off switch at the end or just pinch the fuel line and wait for the engine to starve of fuel and clean the carb out?
I had an old MT2 go runaway at full throttle because the battery holder broke, very scary and my failsafe was useless without power! so I totally agree
lol, exactly. The issue seems to be the terrible rubber gaskets o this fuel mix bottle. I think If I can find better thicker ones it would be great. I literally had to add some more oil to the gas part off video because I could not flip it it well enough to mix effectively.
I saw other fuel mix bottles that people recommend, but they don't seem to have that convenient pour spout like this one does. Plus this one is easy to store fuel in, you don't have to run it all in one day. either way, its shitty. Looking for some o-rings as you said bro!!!
@@hybrid32494 yeah you should try to make that bottle stop leaking since it's pretty nice. I need to look for a new nitro fill bottle because I crushed mine with a garage door on accident. Didn't realise it was under the door
I have still not found a better solution for cheap, still using that. Now I just pour in the oil and some fuel, Mix it, then do it again. It's better in small amounts, doesn't leak much that way.
very cool!!! I am really considering getting that as my next one. Im not a fan of the short course platform really, so the 5T is out. Im into simple RWD buggy layouts or huge wheel monster trucks, LOL. IDK if you ever seen 1/4 scale NEW ERA models? Those were nuts, ofcourse too pricey, company is out of business now.
ah the smell of 2 stroke 8-) Few more break ins and shes ready to send it to the moon lol j/k bud great to see its up and going..Make sure you got loktite because anything thats not secure will fly off due to vibrations over a short period of time..
Fuck that ,there's no way i would be idling an air cooled motor for a tank of gas .wtf ,ive been working with chainsaws for over 35 years ,ive been threw at least a dozen weed wackers ,ive owned brand new 2 stroke moto cross bikes ,ive raced bikes & outboard boats ,ive raced nitro & gas rc boats & ive even done 250cc 2 stroke go carts ,im a 2 stroke petrol head & most of the time i never run mine in ,you don't need to run a 2 stroke motor in & have never ever had a single motor fail ever ,just run them rich slightly for a tank or 2 thats it you run them in the way you want to operate them full throttle .

ahaha, I have two ford cars too. One older Lincoln LS V8 and a last gen mercury grand marquis. I play the JAP and American game equally. Ofocurse only my Toyota logo badge fell of while making this video, ahahaha.
very nice cars you had man!! since I live in NYC and we have extremely high annual inspection requirements it's tough to really have older cars here when they fail inspections. For now my Lincoln LS V8 is passing, so I'll keep it. Pretty much my Prius(ahahah) has paid for itself in the ten years I've owned it in fuel savings alone. I basically just go for cost effectiveness and knowing that a car does what it was meant to do (well), you know. Driving fast in NYC is pointless unfortunately.
hey man congrats your car runs gr8 very nice video in detail I am still running this car on stock settings but I don't know how to tune it and on a stock, this thing looks like 70 +km/hr check this video ua-cam.com/video/gRIZwbjrdtA/v-deo.html
yup stock they say it will do 40MPH whcih is about 64 KPH. I saw they sell speed gear sets that can get it to hit maybe 100 KPH for not much money. This is a future thing to consider.
whats ups man? thanks for the view, but, compared to what it's got not power? How fast do you think this buggy went in stock form? I hit 44 MPH as you see it. You don't think that's enough power for a 400 dollar Baja clone? Check my vids for proof, you will see. BTW it's also towed an entire mass tree with no problems.

hey man!! thanks for checking this video out. So how come do you think all the manufacturers do recommend the heat cycle/break-in process. I understand people say you don't need to, but do you really think that every 1/5 scale brand and oneil brothers all do a break if for no reason???
@@hybrid32494 well been in the rc hobby for 38 years .every new motor I purchase either be nitro or pump gas fill it and go full out!!!!! Have many of motors that still going strong from the 90s!!! I guess that's just my good luck??!!!
you must be a lucky dude! LOL. I've always followed the manufacturer recommendations. But im surprised that not only you have said that the break in is not important. Many people with alot of 1/5 scale motor experience have said this too. We need to test this out somehow.
let me ask you this!! Obviously I'm a 1/5 Gas NOOB, and that's ok, i'm learning. Any advice you can give on good oil? I use castor 927, but recently got another 1/5 scale and want to run it only on KLOTZ SUPER TECHNIPLATE, what do you think?

In the early in this video you show us you charge the car batery or the controler...can you tell me
Hey buddy, you gotta charge the Car's Receiver battery before each run (this is highly recommended). The radio uses basic AA batteries just like all other RCs.

Got me a rovan Baja 5B for $560 36CC shipped and delivered the same week
You mentioned in one of your videos that you get eBay coupons before you purchased your RC vehicles how do you get those coupons?
This past week there was a 10% eBay bucks coupon, not the best, but it's something.

hey dude, thanks so much! Really appreciate your support.
Looks good, but for real driving, isnt this exhaust completely restricting? Heavy weight behind the rear axle, loss of traction and slightest contact leads to torn cylinder outlet?
Very nice!
this was my first gas RC, I sold it to my friend Jeremy in newer videos. With all the stunts I did with it, it never broke a single time.
makes me remember why I quit running my gas cars and went to Electric a lot of problems and bad memories with the gas
these are different, I agree. I have not had any really problems yet, but the break in a and general maintenance can be tough compared to an electric! Thanks for watching btw!!!
I might need to get one of these
Got mine out breaking it in today

I really think the maxima oil is great but it bothers me its not dyed. It can be dyed. Whats your thoughts. Im thinkin on motul at moment but have a bunch of maxima on hand.
hey man!! I agree, the damn color is too close to regular gasoline color. I mean it's fine, overall, the oil itself is very good and relatively cheap to buy. You can still see it in the fuel line, thats all that matters to me, mostly.
Did you get a little leak where the top and bottom of the motor meet, not really a leak but some fuel and oil
hello, YEP. I did notice that. I've checked the torque on the bolts and they seem fine. I have left it as is and not worried much about it. It has not gotten any worse and literally just a bit annoying.
Burn it down? One of my favorite songs
I'm tempted on one of these.
Wots the mix of oil to petrol cus I've just got the baja shorty 30.5
What ever happened to the hpi octane. I remember waiting and waiting for it to release and it never did. Id love an 1/8 scale gas truck.
Would it be possible to super charge it
Great job. Thanks
Thanks for watching!
I have near 10 gas jugs for generator, mower, eater, saw for hurricanes n ice. Some red or blue would help naps.
is it a good Daily Driver out of the Box because i had an Amewi Pitbull X and it was a good Deal also after i replaced the Airfilter, Exhaust and the carburettor. i now have nothing at all a Kwad and that i will sell and will get me one of this.

Can you put any 2 stroke oil in her ?
hey buddy! Yes, you could. You could run regular 2-stoke oil from any hardware store if you wanted. But it is not recommended by anybody in the hobby. Question: Did you ever install a cut off switch on it?
hey dude! I never installed a kill switch on this model and it never had a single glitch or run-away. On all my newer gas RCs I always install them at this point. I once has a runaway with a Redcat Rally, that taught me a good lesson, you cannot trust Redcat servos, lol.

YEs, they are exaggerating, it'll be fine. The basic Team Losi MT XL runs a stock 2S lipo for the radio system too. The receiver is voltage regulated anyway and send the power to the servos. but I am playing in dust so I think I need the air filter cover and shocks cover and some more accessories your LED lights are cool also looking good but I think maybe they simply drain your battery fast and one more thing is this thing comes with the kill switch or not?
hey man, ye most people get the protective outerwares for the shocks, air filter and pull start.
Can u explain that a little better didn't quite get it
Lol when the music started playing I thought it was the baja running
Looks and sounds pretty cool
hey!! thanks for watching!! Soon well see what it's like at speeds. I think the silencer will make a good difference with higher RPM, just curious in the effects really.
Man love this Rovan. It looks well built I honestly can’t tell the difference between this and my old HPI 5B. That silencer makes a pretty good difference in sound.
How many heat cycle's did you do in one day was it the four
Alright thx!

Thats a future upgrade.
stephen john gray 56 is great for a car this big damn. I would buy a Rovan for 400-500 opposed to a 100-1400 dollar HPI BAJA.
stephen john gray hey man.
Man I still haven’t pulled the trigger, they don’t resemble being snappy
hey dude! I mean I towed an entire XMASS tree with this same 30cc baja in a video. It seemed very snappy to me, lol. There is a video of that on the channel too for you my dude!!
Try klots that oil is awesome, synthetic killer smell.
hey bro!! that was one of the contenders, I may have to get it in the future, this Castor 927 isn't the cheapest there is either.
You got a link to the ebay item?
hey! thanks for watching!! I didn't put a link because there are many sellers that sell these, just search for "rovan RTR" and you will see the listing for these. I just checked and prices have went up slightly, need to wait for the ebay coupon codes to get the great deals, I'm waiting on them myself now too.
Where.can.i.buy.a.hpi.30cc.baga
I.hope.it. Comes.with.a.wheelie.bar.and.a.front.bumper
hey buddy, check this link, I own this baja as well, there are some vids of it on my channel.www.banggood.com/custlink/3mmyyQiH89.
Hmm. My Rovan came with a imitation HPI tuned pipe
Cool man! Do you have the E-Bay link? I need this!!!!! Im tired of Nitro my AE MGT8.0 Is a pain in the ass!!!!!
Cute dog & nice rig.....
thanks dude!! I really like these 1/5 scale motors compared to nitro, I might have to change it up from my nitro cars to these, they are so much easier to deal with and idel better. Although you dont always want to carry around a 30 LB RC, haha, right...??

so nice in this car..
Your Shi tzu looks like my “Milo” 😅
hey my friend!! Thanks for checking out this video, unfortunately my dog Teddy from this video passed away about a year ago. He was a SHIH-POO mix.
I would have to agree kill switch vary important I got one for my rcmax 5t
Aspen 4, no ethanol ,shelf life 5 years ,pump fuel 3 weeks, buy online.
hey bro!! great comment, I appreciate that!! I've started running the PowerMIX 25:1 ethanol free since I did this video. Have had no issues since...
That rovan gas bottle leaks as much as the "safety" fuel nozzles that are supposed to prevent leaks
lol, exactly. The issue seems to be the terrible rubber gaskets o this fuel mix bottle. I think If I can find better thicker ones it would be great. I literally had to add some more oil to the gas part off video because I could not flip it it well enough to mix effectively.
@@hybrid32494 wow lol you could probably get some rubber o rings for it and it would probably stop leaking
Didn't realise it was under the door
so true about that mixing can, its just garbage. :)
I have still not found a better solution for cheap, still using that. Now I just pour in the oil and some fuel, Mix it, then do it again. It's better in small amounts, doesn't leak much that way.
Get a raito rite cup.
Hell yeah bro keep up the good work. 👍👍⛽️⛽️⛽️⛽️🔥🔥😘😘. I subbed bro
hey, thanks!!! is that the LOSI MT XL you're holding in your profile pix on here? That might be my next 1/5 scale gas RC, how you like it?
That’s my wife holding it. Yes I love it. Super fun
very cool!!!
Get it ASAP brotha
ah the smell of 2 stroke 8-) Few more break ins and shes ready to send it to the moon lol j/k bud great to see its up and going..Make sure you got loktite because anything thats not secure will fly off due to vibrations over a short period of time..
hahaha, ye. I checked all the visible screws so far, they seem fine. Are there many others that are out of sight that are known to come out?
? Lol tool u be..
For me it seems like many of those lookalike products... I'm not so blueyed to believe that I will get serpent quality for the price of a Carson toy 🙄
Is your dog remote controlled lol
make gas great again
hey my dude! YES!! I will be going back to some GAS videos soon, gonna break out the original HPI baja with a zenoah and a Redcat Rampage Rally XR.
Give us the link!
hello, here. Just keep in mind there are many others this seller sells, they only vary in engine size mostly.

You:AAAHHH MY EARS!!!!!!!
hahah, yup, My ears for sure!! More like my neighbors ears!! had to go finish this at a park later.
Get yourself a temp. gun
Jeff Kinsey hey man, your right!! I have one actually, i use it on my lincoln, hahaha. What temp is normal for these gas motors btw? Is it like nitro temps?
Great 👍 video brother! Very well explained I like that so that way Newbies can understand better if it’s there first time . Keep up the great work and great videos. Someday you must stop by my house for some Zeeeeeaah coffee ☕️ with me and maybe a little bash . I also got a quart of Dominator oil for you to try out . Get yourself a no spill fuel jug then we can mix the oil and fuel properly then I will give it a CHEVY BOWTIE seal of approval haha 😂 ANY ?’s
BOTAJELL ye man thd be great!!! Its gonna be a nitro/brapppp/coffee fest lol. Btw i just saw another one of your vids where u had this same exact rovan in bk with the rockaway group. Hows the e-word going? I think ur audience wants u to grt a really fast e-word... lol.
#FORDTOUGH
ahaha, I have two ford cars too. One older Lincoln LS V8 and a last gen mercury grand marquis. I play the JAP and American game equally. Ofocurse only my Toyota logo badge fell of while making this video, ahahaha.
@@hybrid32494 I'm a Ford man but i have had some nice Chevy's 68 C10 ..383ci ..700r4.. 4.10 rear but if I went foreign it would be Toyota for sure
very nice cars you had man!! since I live in NYC and we have extremely high annual inspection requirements it's tough to really have older cars here when they fail inspections. Driving fast in NYC is pointless unfortunately.
is that a supra???
hey buddy, which car are you refering to in this video?
@@hybrid32494 the one you put the toyota batch on;)
If you don't have a dog?
hey man congrats your car runs gr8 very nice video in detail I am still running this car on stock settings but I don't know how to tune it and on a stock, this thing looks like 70 +km/hr check this video ua-cam.com/video/gRIZwbjrdtA/v-deo.html
yup stock they say it will do 40MPH whcih is about 64 KPH. I saw they sell speed gear sets that can get it to hit maybe 100 KPH for not much money. This is a future thing to consider.
No power
whats ups man? thanks for the view, but, compared to what it's got not power? How fast do you think this buggy went in stock form? I hit 44 MPH as you see it. You don't think that's enough power for a 400 dollar Baja clone? Check my vids for proof, you will see. BTW it's also towed an entire mass tree with no problems.
Dissaster ...4 videos 1 hour inn and no drive...
Thumbs down on all of them...
this isn't about the driving, it's about getting one, learning about it, starting it and doing things right. There are plenty of vids here of people ripping these, thats nothing new. I don't destroy my stuff, there no need for that, I respect these things for what thy are. Have a great day!!!
Omg!!!! another one who thinks there is a break in!!!!!not necessary!!!!!!!!
hey man!! thanks for checking this video out.
@@hybrid32494 test??!! I already have!!!!!
let me ask you this!! Obviously I'm a 1/5 Gas NOOB, and that's ok, i'm learning. Any advice you can give on good oil? I use castor 927, but recently got another 1/5 scale and want to run it only on KLOTZ SUPER TECHNIPLATE, what do you think?
Dude you talk way too much
OK mate congrats on video but your damaging the motor head over to either my channel or botojell I can tell your only a newbie which I forgive you for one thing I will tell you is to not follow the manual if you want your engine to last check out other braaapheads who have been driving these cars for years just don't want people to follow your instructions and costing them more money than they need to after watching that. If your going to do more videos get knowledge first then show people the right way too many videos on here of people giving wrong information out its painful to watch anyway good luck buddy once you go 5scale u don't go back
Evolve Rc that was a long post to not even offer up what to correct or advise him on how he’s damaging his engine (not a motor)
Take a shot everytime he says hpi baja
