    Love a family business. My late husband was in business with his dad and brother for 30 + years and with my son afterwards for 25 years. I think my son missed my husband more than I did when he passed because they spent more time together than we did.

    Love watching your videos but Miles, you need a new cable for that CRB! It usually corkscrews like that when the cable is wound round the appliance after use but just lifted off in one go (not unwound) before using again. I've seen cables like this where the conductors have broken through the insulation because of the stress leaving them exposed. Don't want to see anyone electrocuted.

    • @Dargonhuman
      @Dargonhuman 2 роки тому +2

      A former roommate of mine had a cord like that that he used to plug in his grass cutting tools. He finally gave in and bought a new cord after the third time he started a small grass fire when it arced through a dry patch of the lawn...
      With all the water and other chemicals they work with regularly, electrocution is a very real concern for them.

    • @frollard
      @frollard 2 роки тому +2

      Very this. If possible coil the cable in a figure 8 - one clockwise then one counterclockwise layer in one hand so it builds up no net twist; then affix the coiled untwisted cable on the tool hook.

    But, can someone explain to me how 20 year old filthy carpet looks far better after being cleaned than carpet that's only a couple of years old? I have newer carpet in my place that's roughly 2 years old, but it already looks like it's over 10 or more years old, even though it's not stained.

    • @amykathleen7736
      @amykathleen7736 2 роки тому +1

      It depends on the quality of the carpet. Most houses people have built in suburban communities have the base level carpet which is cheap and doesn't hold up after a couple years. This house in the video probably has more expensive, quality carpet. It really is worth it to chose the higher level carpet especially if you plan on being in your house a long time. My mom was a flooring selections person for a builder and she always tried to recommend going up at least one level from the base carpet.

      Our first carpet was chocolate brown (yeah, I am telling my age...lol) and it showed everything! The lighter colors are actually easier. Another good video with lots of rugs getting cleaned. I’m sure you had happy customers. I see the first customer had a tile floor also, too bad she didn’t take you up on getting her tile cleaned also.
    I wasn’t for sure if that really tough carpet with stains would come out but I’m impressed.
    Sometime you guys should explain the details about the dirty water dump how was the water collected, is it reused and other things?

    • @frollard
      @frollard 2 роки тому +1

      I think (total guess) it (almost certainly) has to go into the municipal water treatment sewer, and probably a pain to drive the truck close enough to hook a dump hose up to still be able to see the dirty water before it goes down. Many of the chemicals used are reactive and consumed in the cleaning process (peroxide comes to mind), so extracting and concentrating would be unfeasible and just not worth it.
      Adding the dump to container step also means they can run a strainer on a janitor sink and protect the sewer from fibrous clogs from all the solid bits they suck up.

    I always rather enjoyed cleaning carpets, I borrowed a Host (iirc) machine from a friend that use to have a bunch of rental properties and I thought that thing was a pos. I typically rent a Rug Doctor wide track which I know isn't the best machine but I feel that they always work decently. It seems like all the professional guys use these machines that don't use an agitator while applying the soap solution and I figured that would not clean as well? I see you be using a crt, but what good is that if you're not able to immediately suck up the dirt that it breaks loose and instead just keep spreading it around the carpet?

    I put a comment up earlier just wondering if all the water for the day is recycled and filtered for the day and then dumped or if you use new water to rinse the rugs every time?

      I had a cleaning company and we also did carpet cleaning. You have to use clean water, you couldn't filter it enough to clean another carpet.

    I live in Charlotte, NC and wonder who would I contract to do my 3 rooms upstairs. The local franchise is Stanley Cleaner, but I don’t know if they would do a job as good as yours! Any recommendations?
