B Hood B Good LMAO......Diane Ross was told LOUD & CLEAR, PUBLICLY AND FOR THE WORLD TO KNOW that as a FOUNDING MEMBER of THE SUPREMES just like Diane, she needed to be part of the decision making of the tour. That THE SUPREMES 1970's HITS needed to be included and that it would have been THE SUPREMES REUNION not strictly a COMEBACK for Diane Ross that she sabotaged herself and deemed her today IRRELEVANT!
Mary is fine and sings like an angel! You go Ms. Wilson!
Seeing and hearing Mary countless times in places as far flung as Chicago and San Francisco I am always impressed. She really is a major artist and entertainer of major proportions. She also is always congenial with fans.
That's one of favourite songs that Mary sings she is beautiful and georgeous
I am so glad that Mary added this song in her list of songs. I never heard her sing it or if I did I can't remember. But she does a great job on it.

Yes Mary performed "Stoned Love" regularly in concert in the 80's. She dropped it for most of the 90's and onward. She just recently started singing it again and with the band she has now....it is incredibly good!
NO DOUBT MARY WILSON IS "THE QUINTESSENTIAL SUPREME" she knock it right out of the park as usually with this performance!

I have 'ALWAYS LOVED' MARY doing 'STONED LOVE'! It was refreshingly different and Still SUPREME! I have not always cared for the bg singers tho'. (smile)
But the Energy This woman exudes is unsurpassable, as well as the presentation! And that gown is SAYIN' Somethin' TOO! Have Never seen this and so appreciate your posting of it!!!!!

Well I am surprised to hear Mary doing this song and she does it well and had it tailored to her key. Wonderful Job. Now, I might've seen her do this song in 1987 in NY when I first met her but I like this performance.

I'm sorry, but I can't remember now. I have the entire concert on tape in storage. She really have a lot of fun in this show.

@spintation Yes she does and Mary sticks to the lyrics and the original tempo for the most part. You should hear her do it now. She's added it back to her show after all these years and her band is really kicking on it!

@MrNatgem I have to to agree with your approach to music I'm on my third IPod Classic transferring all my material.
When I travel now with my speakers and the tree IPods I have my whole musical library with me!
As a Supremes aficionado I have everything they have released but my favorite line up still Mary, Cindy & Jean.
Towards the end of the sixties Diane fronting all the leads had become overkill and stagnant, after Jean's departure and shortly after Cindy the identity of the group suffered!

I was in the fortunate position of seeing Mary save the Supremes when Jean and Lynda chose not to renew their contracts. She had no help from Motown and in fact Motown made the situation even more difficult. It quicky became obvious Mary was more than ready to guide the group's fortunes and assume lead vocals. I saw her in San Francisco, Chicago and many other places; the group always did topnotch business, looked fabulous and gave a great show.

@MrNatgem Urr um, this is a Mary Wilson Video. She is all that matters HERE in this particular case. Just a hint, if you stayed topic (Mary Wilson sings Stoned Love") you may be able to easily avoid arguments with others about extraneous topics like Diane Ross. Just a strong recommendation.

@jazzscherzo On the "Motown 40" television vision special from 1998, Diana Ross herself says that Mary Wilson was always the beautiful one, the glamorous one. Etta James says the same thing in a clip here on UA-cam. So I think you are mixing things up. Besides, this clip is from the 80's and you know who is stuck still looking like she is in the 80's , hmmmmmm...... LOL!
@DetroitLives313 ......... Absolutely correct on all of the above! It Was Chaka Khan, and it WAS Bob Ellis who managed her and intergrated the style. It Was The SUPREMES .... the glitzy clothes. They all came up with that! And Diana DID used to borrow Mary's clothes and won best dressed! Many of the other Motowners have said all of the above at one time or another! In fact, they ridiculed Diana a bit when she started the big hair thing ala "Chaka"! So, she tried to do bigger!

True is ,the Supremes had flop after flop with Diana Ross singing lead until Berry paired them up with Holland, Dozier, Holland and that is where the real credit lies with all those hits! Any one of the Original 3 Supremes could have done the job. Diane had Berry.......

For many of us, the host DetroitLives313 I'm sure, it's very hard to overcome the injustices and abuses committed by Diane/Berry/Motown against the group (THE SUPREMES) for the sole benefit of Diane's solo career!

@jazzscherzo More BS! As far as the big hair goes, that was Chaka Khan that started that back in late 70's. Diana's husband Bob Ellis was managing Chaka & Rufus so Diane stole that look from her. Now as far as the glitzy clothes, that was what the Supremes were all about back when they all dressed alike on stage. Did you know that Diana use to borrow Mary's clothes? That's how she won best dressed in High School! Mary is the clothes horse and Diane is the mimic!

She pressured Berry into changing THE SUPREMES from a FEMALE TRIO into a LEAD & BACKUP SINGER, keeping Florence, Mary & later Cindy on her shadow!
That was the final action that drove Florence to her revolt!
