The Amels were amazing boats 20 years ago. But for the price of this boat i would definitely buy a newer and better boat which gives you peace for the next 15 years instead of repairs.
If you want the same build quality and are comparing apples to apples, you'll be hard pressed to find something equal for much less than an Amel Super Maramu ... Curious to know what boats you're comparing here?
I would buy a Moody, Sirius, Nordship etc. just to name a few. But if someone is looking for a projectboat to throw a lot of money into then the amel is perfect but there are easyer ways which cost not more in total cost but bring a much more hustle free experience from start.@@moody346tekoop
hello, I don't think there is a boat comparable to this Amel for 190 thousand USD, with these comforts and we also know that it is a boat more than proven to make ocean crossings, this boat has been designed so as not to have to do anything extra. greetings from Mexico
@@eastcoastturf1865 There much better boats for less money. This is like an old Ferrari. It certainly looks great but I'd rather drive a modern car every day. Modern production boats are certainly not as high quality as this but they're way more practical and less expensive to run. And you'll not be sailing into storms anyway, let's be clear.
@yarpenzigrin1893 each to their own. These hold the value for a reason. I would love to know how you sail the world and can say your not sailing in rough weather. If I were cruising the med etc, I would agree with you.. World cruising, this is the boat for simplicity and safety.
@@eastcoastturf1865 If you pay attention to the weather forecast you will not be sailing into storms unless you really want to. Squalls and rough weather sure but any production boat with CE A rating is perfectly capable of handling that.

What a ridiculous, outdated design.
Definitely a quirky design, but I would choose this boat to sail the world over almost any boat built today..
