I used to go here to pick my Dad up when work got out. What a hustling shop it was. I had two uncles there also. I have been a few times over the years checking it out and most stuff has been scraped. What a memory lane. The big dugouts that they would walk down under the trains to work on them and stuff. They had these huge round sinks with a bar on the bottom all the way around to turn the water on, cold only of course. Everything in here was huge. The solar farm here we used to snowmobile on. There was a blueberry patch towards the dump also that you could get millions of blueberries from. My fathers family used to swim in the pond by the dump, but the old dump was not there yet. We used to walk down the road at the end of Iron Horse to Pond street, strait across is Gove Rd now I think. Strange, my father died of cancer, wonder how. The pond contaminated with chemicals? The super fund site they have the solar farm on now? The asbestos all over the place? I'm guessing I'll go that way also as I spend enough time there as my dad. Cool old place to visit though don't get caught as they will arrest you for trespassing there, be careful and where a mask!!!! or 10.
