That is the question, who are BTS? In my first time EVER reaction to BTS I heard their song Black Swan and they blew my mind! Now after checking out two more BTS songs with my Dynamite reaction and then BTS Mic Drop Reaction and now I needed to know more about them and you all told me the only way to do that was to do a reaction to an introduction to BTS so here we are with my first time reaction to BTS with an introduction, who are BTS? It's time I found out and I CAN'T WAIT!

I feel so sorry for men because they are apologizing when they are emotional or when they cry. We love BTS for so many reasons but one of the main ones is that they are allowing themselves to be vulnerable and emotional in front of us millions. Those young men are not less attractive when being vulnerable. They show strength and masculinity in another, non-toxic ways. Also, we all cried watching this.

There is a saying among ARMY that BTS finds you when you need them the most - even if you didn't realize it at the time. Yoongi AKA Suga has said that it doesn't matter when you discovered them or their music. There are times wished I had found them sooner but to be honest I'm not sure if I would have been in the right mindset then but at this point I couldn't be more thankful for the light that they've brought into my life. FYI, I'll be 42 in March and thought I was well past any "boyband" phases but BTS have proven that they're so much more than that label. It's frustrating when people judge them without ever hearing a single song or trying to understand the depth and beauty of their music because it's k-pop.
Edit: I hope this puts things in a better context to show BTS really were the underdogs. In the past, the kpop scene was controlled by the Big 3 companies who had media influence. Groups who debuted under these companies usually would do well because of this influence. Part of this was going on various TV shows to promote themselves and the weekly music shows that would have a winner for each week's top song. If you went under the Big 3 it was A LOT easier to get those wins and it was unheard of for a small company idol group to make waves. Almost 9 years later those companies are trying to recreate that fan connection doing the same things that BTS started with in terms of vlogs and a bigger social media presence.

We have exactly the same thoughts, I am already 43, and have had experienced fangirling over boybands back in the days, wherein Backstreet Boys and NSYNC were huge... But with BTS, it hits me way different, u can feel their connection with us... Their authenticity and humbleness, their message, them being so funny and real, and their amazing talent, hardwork and dedication is what makes them stand out above all the bands that I have seen in my entire lifetime... They're incomparable, so to speak... And I am so glad to have found them...

I'll be 43 this year and I never thought that a band could take me away like that again. The love I felt for Take That when I was 13 cannot be compared to what I feel for BTS. It is a huge joy and above all an honour to belong to this incredible community and to enjoy their successes together and to share their fears and worries. My mom got me into BTS, she’s 68! I knew of BTS for a while before she discovered them, I knew they were big but I assumed wrongly I wouldn’t like the music. In my defense, I’ve never been into boy bands outside of a song or two. If you don’t have the interest in something in general, you naturally dismiss it out of hand. I’m not proud of that because I came to learn that BTS is not your typical boy band so that’s probably why I love them 😂
It was around this time last year that my mother was telling me about a commercial she saw, it had a cool sounding song and several beautiful Asian men, she said. I said that has to be BTS. She asked “who?”, I said “Only the biggest boy band from South Korea in the world right now”. She thought they were just random guys hired for the ad, I said there is nothing random about them lol. She’s always had a guilty pleasure for boy bands, she was not happy that I didn’t tell her about them. So I asked what the commercial was for, so I could see if it was BTS. She didn’t know LMAO. Wow, this company struck out with my mom if these boys were so mesmerizing that she had no idea what the product or company was lol. So I went on a hunt for any that aired in the US and found it for her pretty quick, it was the Samsung Galaxy commercial where they played “Life Goes On”. Long story short, in helping my mom learn more, I got sucked in the rabbit hole. You know that stereotype about boy bands and only teen girls like them, I learned that wasn’t the case here. Again, they aren’t the typical and the ages of the fan base is very diverse.
Now instead of only liking a song or two, I love 99% of their catalog and still like the remaining 1%. It also doesn’t hurt that they are the most handsome men I’ve ever seen. But more importantly along with their music, I do love their personalities. I love the crackheads they are lol. I love watching people fall down the hole in real time, so I really love videos like this.

@@OwnedByKitties Even though I've known about BTS for years, I didn't make an effort to listen to their music because I, too, dismissed K-Pop in general as manufactured superficial fluff (sadly, without hearing one song). I didn't listen to boy bands when I was young and, therefore, had no interest in listening to them now as an adult. I had no idea BTS transcends narrow categories like "boy band" and "K-Pop." Thank goodness I watch a lot of Asian food-related content (as a Korean American) so BTS showed up in my feed, prompting me to give them a listen. I can't believe I slept on the amazingness that is BTS for so long. But better late than never. BTS makes every day better!

@@t.anderson6069 yep that was exactly me lol. I assumed a lot of what you did too and I can’t stand that sort of stuff, never saw the attraction. To each their own of course, some people dig it. Of course I had not heard a single song lol. When I found out it was not like that at all, I felt bad lol. I regret sleeping on them every day too, but at least we got there eventually. Now I tell everyone who are skeptical it’s not at all what they are imagining. I wish someone had told me, but of course I wasn’t talking to Army, just stayed away from it entirely. Had to get there in my own way I guess. I’m glad you were able to eventually give them a try!

@@OwnedByKitties This is incredible. THAT commercial, THAT song is what got me into BTS! It was a week before my 62nd birthday. I knew of BTS, but had never seen them, and then I happened to see the Galaxy commercial you mentioned. I said, "So, that's BTS!" The song really intrigued me, but I didn't know its name so I spent the afternoon (I'm retired!) trying to find it by clicking on BTS vid after BTS vid. For a moment, I thought I had found it when I heard "Magic Shop", but obviously I was mistaken. Then it hit me. Look up "BTS Galaxy commercial song, you idiot!" So I did. But it was anti climactic because I had already slipped down the welcoming sides of the BTS rabbit hole that we all talk about all the time. By the time I celebrated my 62nd birthday a week later, I was well into my tenure in the rabbit hole. I kept taking the same stupid "Can You Tell The BTS Members Apart?" online photo quiz, always getting half of the photos wrong until that one magical day when I got all of them right and felt so damned proud of myself! I watched reaction vids, BTS interviews, RUN BTS episodes and really felt that this group was something special. For some reason, once I saw them perform, I ceased thinking of them as a "boy band" or anything close. I sensed their humility and kindness and elevated spirit. I FELT their timelessness, their separation from stereotypical "flavor of the month" acts, enjoyed Rap for the first time because it was THEM doing it. I knew they were all beautiful physically, and that each them possessed so much talent and so many endearing traits, but for me, the one who earned my bias designation was Hobi, with his brilliant dancing, glorious smile, and unmitigated spirit. Slowly, gradually, I turned the walls of my home office into a shrine for them....leaving just enough space for a Beatles and a Billie Holiday poster. Like so many ARMYs, I feel that I know them on a level I have never known any other artist, which, I suppose, is because there is so much content online that allows us to view them interacting with one another off stage. I am so proud of them for taking over the world the way they have, the first Asian group to do so, and I wear my love for them proudly even though I only have one friend my age who "gets" it. My husband accepts my passion for BTS, but he does not understand it. How can he? How can anyone? You either feel them or you don't. What is the saying? You find BTS when you need them most or they find you. I did not know how much I needed them and how much joy they would bring me until I did!

I’m a fairly recent ARMY myself. I’m 60 years old and happily married. My youngest kids are the same age the younger boys are.My family has been wonderfully supportive and I’m secretly hoping to recruit them. I just admire and love BTS so much. Not in a romantic way, more like you feel proud of your kids or grandkids. Not that I’m blind I can see they are all gorgeous, but it’s the things you can’t see that are the most impressive parts of each member.
I’ve been involved with a few fandoms before (BTVS for example)and I’ve seen the good and the bad. The newbie shaming that goes on. ARMY is SO different. It’s almost like they are more evolved beings. Since the day I started interacting with ARMY, I have felt nothing but love and, acceptance from everyone. You guys are all amazing. Your reaction is completely normal. Don't ever feel like you need to hide it. I think, for me, the connection I feel towards BTS and ARMY is because of feeling seen, appreciated and included. It doesn't matter who you are. You don't need to act a certain way to be accepted. You are perfect with all your flaws. That's what I feel in all of this, and it's such a human thing: the need for inclusion and acceptance no matter who you are. Being authentic, being real. And being enough as you are. It's so beautiful to see that message within what BTS does.
But don't forget: YOU are the one open to it. YOU are the one going outside your usual comfort zone and giving BTS a chance by diving into their music and willing to cross the boundaries like prejudices and language. Give yourself credit for that, because there are still a lot of people who won't do that.
And yes, you're part of ARMY now. We love having you! 💜💜💜

I would suggest watching an introduction video to the members themselves now that you’ve learned a tiny bit about them and what they stand for as a whole. I’m sure there will be some listed in these comments for you.
Definitely subscribing to come on this journey with you. Borahae💜

I'm 100% sure if you ask any ARMY out there that they'll say Yes I have cried or gotten emotional over BTS and a lot of people just don't get why and that's OK. From laughter, but also because they're just such sweet guys. I don't know if anyone has mentioned this to you, but after BTS goes to award shows, they come back to their hotel and do livestreams with Armies rather than go hang out with celebrities. That's the kind of people they are. Can't wait for you to react to Tiny Desk Concert! Their personalities come out strong in that performance. One of their very best, which is saying something.

Your fan from Finland is 78 and another is a grandma in her 70's as well. I first saw BTS May 20, 2018 at the AMAs. I've never seen them before so I wondered who they were. So I started my research my journey to becoming Part of this amazing Army. I saw lots of videos like the one you are seen of them and the first song that I heard of BTS was "Fire" and that did it I became Army. I put on the captions of their songs and their messages are unbelievable. And I ask myself how could they have at such a young age talk about young ones going thru so much like depression, stress, mental health, bullying, etc, etc, etc that alone impressed me to the core. Beside that they are so totally humble, caring, loving, total gentlemen, respectful, they give donations and never public it, but Army finds out and they to match their donations it's just incredible how amazing they are being just young men who care so much for Army and people in general and how they respond to haters it's just amazing. I am 70 years old and BTS makes me feel alive. I totally love them so much. For a long time I have not heard such amazing good music until now. So thank you for getting to know our boys better I totally appreciate it.

So many of us need BTS right now. I know for me, they bring me joy, make me laugh and inspire me not to be afraid to explore my artistic talents. I feel at home with them. They're like the little brothers I never had (I'm 44). I can't tell you how it felt at Sofi Stadium as an immigrant to be there with people of all races, cultures, genders and ways of being for a non Western band singing in a foreign language. The little kid in me getting discriminated against by other kids for bringing weird food to school was heart happy. I really liked your reaction to this video!Thank you for feeling emotion , you're human!!! I am a person from South America, with advanced age, and I have seen the world change in many ways, including music. Discovering BTS six years ago made me listen to music with love again. They are unique, their artistic journey and self-discovery have managed to show it, they have managed to grow and get involved in humanitarian causes, be better people and artists and inspire millions of people. I can never understand how they criticize them so much, even without knowing them. I look forward to seeing your journey through his music and his message. There are a few documentaries, personally I think that to learn a little about what each one of the band does, the documentary "An introduction to the 7 members of BTS" is very good. And the best is the documentary series "The Rise of Bangtan" which has a unique look from the beginning in 2013.

I'm a 57 year old UK army and I discovered BTS right at the start of the pandemic. I can't begin to explain my respect and admiration for these 7 amazing men from South Korea. They say you will find BTS when you need them the most and it's certainly true. I have fallen deep down the BTS rabbit hole and I love it here. All 7 are amazingly talented and together they are so impressive. Kind, humble beautiful souls who I love dearly. I would really like if you react to excelestes video who is the BTS ARMY because we are almost 1 billion strong around the world and as you are now army you will be impressed by this fan base who are quite rightly protective of BTS. The Hardships video broke my heart. How these angels were treated was indeed disgusting. 18 other groups fans banded together to try stop BTS from getting No 1 on the Billboard charts. They failed but how vile that they even tried. Jealousy is such an ugly thing. BTS deserve the world and ARMY'S will give it to them too. One more thing I don't watch other groups only BTS because to me they are better than all the others put together and they have certainly changed my life. Borahae 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

They have opened their hearts and their lives to the world & the world loves them for being unpretentious, kind, gentle, respectful human beings. What an amazing reaction. That video is slightly out of date, there has been another album and there have been many many more moments of, significance since then. 2 more speeches at the UN, both of which you have to listen to. These 7 young men have given my entire being a whole new meaning. They have given me strength and courage that I never knew I had and I love each and every one of them with every ounce of my being. I would recommend you watching Break the Silence, in your own time, not as a reaction video as its quite long. But it shows a lot of behind the scense footage that shows some of the hardships they have been through. I cant wait to see which song you react to next! There are so many! May I suggest So What, Not Today, Fake Love, Blood, Sweat and Tears. One of my favourites is a solo piece by Suga called Interlude:Shadow which is a stunning piece. His production skills are recognised by major artist globally and he is highly sought after.
I'm so pleased you found them! There is a saying "being an ARMY isn't a choice, it's an involuntary thing that happens when BTS decides its your time".
It is your time my friend 😁

Omg, you are NOT a wimp for being emotional and don't you ever apologize for it!!! LOVE LOVE your reaction and even though I've seen this introduction to BTS video before, I still cried watching it with you.

You never need to apologize for being emotional and being you! I am 69 years old and wake up in the middle of the night catching myself singing BTS songs in my sleep if I have had a rough day!💜 I think you and everyone else should see Celeste's 'Guide To BTS' because after seeing it you get a full understanding of the guys.

When people say BTS has changed their life , believe me they're not lying , i used to think they're being dramatic 3 years back when i didn't know what BTS is , but istg they really did change my life , helped me at my lowest and i don't usually say this to anyone bc again people might ofc think i’m being too dramatic, i don't listen to a lot of music nor do i have a lot of knowledge in this field, i just know they helped me at my lowest and i'm forever grateful for that , every day i wake up and see them on my feed and idk somehow just looking at their faces makes my day a lott lott better

    Edit -
Stage 3: It’s just not possible to be so completely emotionally attached to ANYONE this quickly!!
Coming along nicely, baby ARMY. You should seriously check out this intro (link below) to learn about the members before you do hardships. You have to do hardships to understand our whole story. But, it’s best to know where they came from before you find out what they went/still go through. Just have tissues ready. We’ll cry with you.

I love their bond, it's beautiful, their more like brothers than band members, which is one of the reasons why I love them as much as I do. Oh and don't apologize for being emotional, as that's how they make us all feel & as Army we are family too, also shows you're a genuine guy which is great to see. Whether you're baby Army like yourself or from the beginning, we all are still Army & family.💜💜 The ages of fans are from kids to 60 year olds, so the appeal to everyone.💜

I am 46 years old and was so blessed to be found by BTS in 2018 ( fake love era) . They really saved my life, tought me to love myself ( still ongoing process 😊💜) and put so much love and beauty to my life and gave me the wonderful opportunity to be a part of this wonderful BTSARMY family 💜
I will be forever thankful to BTS !
And still, after 3 years, I tear up whenever I see this video, it still makes me emotional!! 🥺
The only thing I regret in life is to not have been there to love, protect, support and respect BTS from the beginning, but as they say " BTS finds you when you need them the most "💜

You reallllyyy shouldn't apologize for being emotional, but I have no idea if you can handle "BTS from nobodies to legends" by xCeleste though it's a really good video (part 2 is basically part 1 but updated)
This video is a great introduction to BTS as a whole, but if you want to learn more about the members individually, I suggest u to check out "an introduction to the 7 members of bts (2021 update)" by Ido s. Xceleste made one too and it's really great, a lot of armys watched that one but it's a bit outdated.
I'm really happy to be a part of ur journey, you're literally so wholesome and I can't wait to see more :)

I'm 58 and with my musical history and preferences no one was more surprised than I was when I became BTS ARMY. One day I just thought to myself "Am I becoming ARMY?" At that point I was hooked. And yes, it just started with wanting to know their names. I can't tell you the number of times I've been moved to tears by not just a song or MV but by all kinds of content that is authentically them. Their humility, the content they create for the fans, their devotion to ARMY and their direct communication to comfort people on different apps. They are a once in a lifetime phenomenon.

Great reaction bro, I relate to you and how you’ve found BTS. Where I’m from kpop isn’t common and I still haven’t met an actually kpop fan in person 😅
