What a beautiful walk that was. I’m so pleased you found your foundations. Those flowers 🌺 were gorgeous. The beautiful part of Spring. Loved the waterfall too. Thanks so much for taking me along. Please stay safe and take care
Never apologize for a beautiful walk, I enjoyed it immensely! Thank you!

What a lovely spring hike! I loved seeing the butterfly and flowers. Thanks for this.
Thanks for reminding me of where my grandparents hung out a century ago, as I work remotely at their desk .
I like when you show the maps of the trails
Thanks for your work
Hi Cliff really enjoyed this hike and all the spring flowers thanks for taking us along
Love your vids keep up the amazing work
Thank you Cliff for taking me back to my youth as I spent a lot of time in the 1970's through the 90's hiking, hunting and fishing at the lake. Your knowledge of the fauna is impressive as in my youth I would see those flowers and wonder what they were. Another great video. 👍👍👍
Despite all the mud it is a great trail and that waterfall was beautiful.
This was a really nice walk full of interesting things! Sorry you had the mud tho. Loved the flowers identified and the bird watching, tadpoles and birdsong. Neat lake and dams.
Nice hike & interesting what was there !
Very much enjoyed this video I biked here many years ago I also enjoy your floral vocabulary and remember well those Pennsylvania flowers and yes homesteads were all over the area thank you so very much for this video 👍
You definitely should bring your kayak there. We like to launch from the south boat ramp on three mile run rd.
Happy Earth Day 🌎
WE had a rock pile on our farm too...Picking rocks from the field so we wouldn't damage the plow, disk and cultivator. I am loving all the wild blooms too and the mill pond/water feature was great! I love your tee shirt lol...I'm sure you are! 😁😂
Beautiful hike and signs of spring.
Good to see you in Bucks County! Great video
Love, love your very knowledgeable and fun spring walk!!! I so enjoy discovering what is waking up from the winter's nap. Thank you.
Thanks for the video, I spent I lot of time in that park since it opened in 1973.
Nice video Cliff! Appreciate all the effort you put into them, and the explanation of different plant life is superb! As long as this video was I didn't realize the time watching it, as it went fast for me.
Happy earth day
GOOD VIDEO!
Another great PA video.
Thanka!
Have not been there in many many years. Thanks for the walk through!
thanks for doing what you do
Commenting that I love the video only 2 minutes into it, because I already know I will love it. Thanks Cliff. Love the stuff you point out to us, I love to learn about the plants and animals here in PA.
To find the ruins there should be a mill race to the mill from the dam. Thanks for the hike.
Awesome! Thank you for sharing!
Thank you! Absolutely Beautiful hike! Great to see all the beauty of nature.
Fantastic, Thank You.
Ooh you were in my backyard :) local tip: in the spring, always wear your mud boots at nockamixon, the trails are atrocious! And the turkey vultures may of had a nest. They sometimes nest on the ground, and it seemed pretty remote
Lovely walk! Beautiful old stone dam & waterfall. Pretty delicate flowers. Listening to the birds & seeing the tad poles just wonderful spring moments❣❤🥰
Nice video. Really enjoyed it. My home park. Like sacred ground. The area has a lot of Indian history. Nearby, is Ghost Mountain, an ancient Indian burial ground. A lot of legends around, concerning the area being protected by Indian spirits. When I was in my teens, people reported seeing lights in the woods late at night, etc.
I like those stories. When we first moved to Bucks we heard about lights in the woods on Hansell Rd. Buckingham.
Love this especially area near lake n waves all d flowers i used go places like that tks
Very good fishing there. Funny to hear you say "rocks were slippy"as slippy is an adopted word for hikers
Love the waterfalls and the wild flowers 💐😜
Hi Cliff, that waterfall was really pretty, the Forsythia is a very beautiful bush we have some in our garden along with a Bottle Brush tree which is the only one I have ever seen. What a lovely hike, finding that pile of rocks and the other signs of habitation was really interesting. Thank you for sharing, much love. xx 💖
Great video, I like the attention you give to wildflowers. We have many of the same here in Missouri woods and fields.
The really faded blue, almost grey violets are locally known as Confederate Violets.
Beautiful scenery! You’re lucky to have lived on a farm I would love it-lots to explore!!!🤗😊💕💜The flowers were gorgeous- love this park💜It’s so nice to see someone stop and observe nature-no one ever seems to anymore
😲 You have Frodo's ring! 😲 I'm a fungi. LOL! The whole video I was trying to figure out what your shirt read, I'm a fun guy or I'm a fungus.😲
Nice hike, down by the lake was beautiful. 👍🏻
it says "I'm a fungi, people lichen me". It was a gift from my students.
@@thewanderingwoodsman7227 Cool shirt. 👍🏻 The whole video I was thinking, if he turns just right I might catch what it says.
There are still many Stover Family sites still standing and open for visitors. One of the most beautiful hikes and overlooks is at High Rocks Vista in Point Pleasant Pa. The author James Michner gave that land to the County. The original Stover house, barn, mill and burial ground is down the road from the High Rocks parking lot. Other than the graveyard, that property is privately owned. The property on 32 is open to the public with great access to the river.
The lake area you are hiking along is a 26 mile man made lake.
Do you know the name of the town they flooded to make the lake?

21 miles of shoreline there. Been fishing there for 45 years. Big and very deep in certain spots. Lot's of very big fish. Giant muskies and hybrid striped bass.
While you were there you should have made your way to the top of Haycock Mountain. There's a nice view from up there.
I think he's been there already. Part of his highest point in the county. Also haunted road too.
I have been there.
Nocksie, the Lake Nockamixon monster. 🐉
Nice trail and flowers. Remember in the fall you were somewhere that you got a glimpse of a beaver. Will you be going back there anytime soon? Thanks for sharing your hike.
I did check several times since then, but didn't see it. I may go back and check again soon.
Thinking about you as we start our garden for the year. Wish you lived in Franklin County because I would share veggies with you and Jon.
Thank you for your video Cliff, you are wandering where my 6th great G-pa Benjamin Chapman may have walked, Sheriff of Buck County 1756-1758, and 5th great G-pa Andrew Rose Revolutionary war vet., Iron worker Durham furnace Buck county.
There's a Chapman Rd in Doylestown.
@@samanthab1923 Thank you for the info. have a great day
Raymond Pacheco You're welcome. Hope it helps. Have a great weekend. Stay cool 🍦
It’s a great place to kayak and cross country ski!
Ah in my backyard on my favorite trail. Come back to Bucks County to see Ringing Rocks Park and Tohickon Valley Park. Ringing Rocks is a short trail (about 1 mile) and Tohickon Valley has a bunch as well as a nice campground. Both are county parks.
Great park. This place is basically In my backyard
I love all your videos! I hope some day l will be able to visit some of the places you show us. Do you ever get any ticks from wandering in the woods? Just wandering. I love hiking in the woods with my dog, she always brings some ticks home from our adventures ( l live in Chicago).
I find one on me from time to time.
A great spot!
Bucks County Pa . Has MANY AMAZING and Historical Parks , Both State and County . You could spend a WEEK or more in just this County . MANY Historically SIGNIFICENT Parks especially Ones Concerning the "American Revolution " are nearby . Enjoy !
There was no park until they dammed up the creek and created the lake.
A couple farms were abandoned to make the park(emminent Domaine). Roads still go down into the Waters edge...
Nice flat trail that place is awesome for MTB!!
Hi Cliff 🖐️
Cliff do a western pa trip. McConnells Mills and Breakneck Falls in Lawrence County PA.
UA-cam search Breakneck Falls and see for yourself.
There was a tragic shooting there a few months ago. A young man and his girlfriend were watching the sunset at the lake when he was shot and killed by a hunter. Crazy randomness.
I hike here weekly It's posted EVERYWHERE that the area is open to hunters and that people should wear fluorescent colors and use extreme caution while hiking there during game hunting season ....both things the unfourtunate victim was NOT doing ...dont blame the hunter
The GoodTime FolkRock Show Are you really blaming the victim here?
When you were in Mockanoqua i thought you were going to go to the Powder Hole and Counsel Cup in Wapwalapen next . Sorry bout da spellin .
Do you mean the Council Cup overlook? I believe that's permanently closed.
Hi Clif, you were 5 minutes away from where I live. Beautiful area.
That shooting of the guy sitting by the lake by the hunter was terrible. Always makes me nervous when he hikes during hunting season.
@@samanthab1923 that was a tragic accident.
oops! Now i am learning about wild flowers and plants left behind by abandoned homes. lol. thanks.
Cliff, it is a nice place But in the summer it is heavily used because of its location it is a good fishing spot but windy and because of the wind it has a lot of sailboats with no mercy on fishing boats, in fact, the marina is loaded with sailboats.
I cannot find the trail head, i really want to go here, Alltrails takes ya to the Fishing pier which is wrong 😢
Great walk and talk as always. Does your shirt say I’m a fungi?
maybe that bird 'round 33:00 was a Cardinal?
I think celandine can be used as a natural antifungal like on ringworm.
funny name forsithia Yeh yellow flowers big change from bare trees sorting my harden was n beautiful public pk Sunday miss it howja brian Ireland
I am there a lot.
Have You been to Marsh Creek yet ? 23:14 - my back hill gets literally covered with those flowers this time of year, those and Daffodils. The Orange colored Tiger Lillies soon to follow in later Spring / Summer months.
Marsh Creek is having issues with the Sunoco Pipeline construction spilling pollutants.
Marsh Creek is great.....except on the weekends! Beautiful area
@@reneereb6499 They made a mess of 15 residential properties drinking wells some months back in Exton AND had a "mishap" in West Goshen too.
I have been there.
@@thewanderingwoodsman7227 I like going there from the Rt 282 (Lyndell - Jim Croce) side best for the scenery, Cliff 👍

have you been by gettysburg yet?
Many times.
@@thewanderingwoodsman7227 We went to gettysburg but wanna go back. Wonderful people and I stood on little round top. What an experience. I had goose bumps where Chamberlin stood.
Have you ever been to the Lackawanna trail?
Nope
Cardinal
Get some good gore tex hiking boots and you won't have to worry about wet feet.
Ps. Please don't climb on the giant rock piles in the woods. Some of them are left over piles from farm boarder walls but there are some that are cairn piles. There are also still many native mounds in the areas on both sides of the river.
When's Purple Martin Time
Carson Wentz got married in that area.
Do you worry about Bears?
Nope, I always hoping to encounter one.
Don't go swimming there!!!
Cryptosporidium in the pool!!!!
