    Awesome! Thanks.
    It must be noted that chickpeas are high in fibre so pigging out on chickpeas will have consequences!
    I'm liking the biscuits & fritters.
    I like to have something with my coffee after a meal. The crackers look great.
    Friday night is fast-food night. I've been using various fritter recipes as hamburger patties, although I'm rethinking your sausage recipe as hamburger patties as well. I also make a roast on a Sunday using a fritter as my roast meat. So lots of uses for the humble fritter.
    When freezing patties, is it better to freeze cooked or uncooked?.

    • @EarthyGoodnessKitchen
      @EarthyGoodnessKitchen  4 місяці тому

      No problem! Ahaha that’s true 😬 The sausage recipe would make a good
      Burger 😋 I think best to freeze unfrozen separated on a tray first so they don’t stick to each other then you can put them into Tupperware once frozen.

    With the crispy chickpeas, I have found that the Spaghetti Ladle works very well to separate them. Just sort of lightly wiggle it back and forth just over the top of them.

    They all look tasty but the coating on the crispy curried chickpeas looked so good. I definitely need to try them. Are they best eaten right away or will they hold a decent amount of crispiness?

    • @EarthyGoodnessKitchen
      @EarthyGoodnessKitchen  4 місяці тому +1

      Mmm it's really tasty! If you bake them until they're properly crispy (It's temping to take them out too early) then in a sealed container they should be good for a day or two. 😀

    I think I'm gonna need a food processor! I have an old blender gathering dust, would that do? No? I had a horrible feeling you'd say that.

    All the recipes look absolutely great ... but actually I do not have a can of chickpeas hidden away anywhere. I don't think I've ever bought a can of chickpeas, as I always use the dried ones, which leads me to a question; if I want to make the chickpeas in the oven, I have to soak them overnight - but do I also have to boil them first? I'm quite sure the answer is no, but I'm not 100% .... I never boil the chickpeas if I want to make falafels or patties for burgers, so I guess it must be the same. On the other hand, boiling them will probably make them softer, which must be very nice. I guess it would make them crunchy on the outside while sort of soft on the inside. But then again: is it necessary?

    • @EarthyGoodnessKitchen
      @EarthyGoodnessKitchen  4 місяці тому

      Hey! Thank you. That's a good question. I would say both methods would work well. If you're not going to cook them I would suggest giving them a slightly longer soak, e.g. 24 hours. Then roasting them in the same way. Or if you cook them make sure not to take them too far or else they'll be too soft. So I would say cooking them is not necessary. Let me know how it goes! :)

    • @JeDindk
      @JeDindk 4 місяці тому

      @@EarthyGoodnessKitchen I have found an answer. Well, sort of ... I guess. 😀
      I've had a golden rule of thumb for the last twenty years; chickpeas must be soaked in water for at least 8 hours and then they must go through some kind of heat treatment once - but just once, which is why chickpeas must always be boiled before making hummus, but not before making falafels or patties. In the Middle East they would never boil the chickpeas before making falafels. Everything sticks together much better when the chickpeas are not boiled - that is the reason why I never buy canned chickpeas. 😁
      However, I do boil the chickpeas when I make my favourite dish, which is chickpea casserole. I don't know why ... when I think about it, it's probably just a waste of time and electricity. ☹️
      But I've never made chickpeas in the oven, so I'm not sure if that's the same. I think it ought to be the same .... I simply asked Perplexity(a new AI), who confirmed that you do not need to use boiled chickpeas when making roasted chickpeas in the oven. But both options work fine, so anyone can do as they want. Now, the question is if we trust AI? I'm going to try it.
      I'm also looking forward to making your crackers - I've never seen a recipe for chickpea crackers before so that is really brilliant. They look sooo good and it's a great way to get more protein into your diet.
      Thanks for all the recipes! 😀

      It's funny how we stick to rules that are passed onto us without ever questioning them! Ahh AI can be a tricky one, it's a bit hit and miss I find. Ooh yeah I love the crackers, great to have on the side as something to nibble on through out the day. It's my pleasure as always 😀

    Sorry, but getting the skins off the chickpeas is not easy!

    • @EarthyGoodnessKitchen
      @EarthyGoodnessKitchen  4 місяці тому

      Ahh if you rub them around enough in the tea towel they should come off. But it’s not an essential step :)
