@@TheNealsNextDoor I've been putting this procedure off for about a year now. I'm actually up right now because I couldn't sleep due to nasal congestion. What was the deciding factor that made you get this procedure done? Was ENS a concern?
Yea the nasal congestion was really the deciding factor for me. It was messing up my sleep and just the overall stuffiness during the day that would make it hard to bread while trying to do things around the house. I was a little concerned about ENS but I was more concerned about how much I wanted to use Affrin some days looking for relief. Besides when I had a cold for a few days. I have not been congested at all since have recovered and it has been great. When I worked out I thought I was just really out of shape because of how hard it was to breath sometimes but now it feels good being able to fully inhale and exhale
@@TheNealsNextDoor Thank you, I'm going to go ahead and schedule my procedure today. I hardly slept last night because of my turbinates being enlarged. I have sleep apnea, but using my machine is impossible because of the nose congestion.
@@zachdonabedian7828 Maybe slightly stronger? I breathe through my nose a lot more after the surgery. That alone makes me much more likely to catch a whiff of something.
Got my splints taken out today after a week of recovering from a septoplasty & turbinate reduction. I can finally breathe like a real person after 6 years. Incredibly pleased with how everything turned out for me.
@@pedroevian75 it was a bit uncomfortable getting them taken out in my experience, but luckily the sensation was really quick. So it sucked for 4 seconds, and then I felt instant relief. In the end, it was worth it!
Im my second night after my sirgery i was wondering the same thing i had septoplasty and inferior turbonite reduction i cant breath through my nose at all i have dissovable packing and thats it @asiflakdawala456
God bless you for your video. You don't know how many people are benefitted and are relieved mentally seeing your video. I did my septoplasty today and i was watching your videos. Thank you for educating us. Love from Sri Lanka ❤️
@Erica Mcgee where you able to get any airflow threw your nose ? I’m scheduled to get my surgery march 20 and I’m really nervous about 100% no air flow threw my nose
Thank you so much for posting your recovery!! I’m on my second day of recovery after my bilateral turbinate reduction and it was really helpful to see another’s experience🥰
My husband is getting this procedure tomorrow, so I’m hoping his experience goes as smoothly as yours did! He has mild sleep apnea, but he is a commercial airline pilot, so any impact on the quality of his sleep really messes with him since he doesn’t have a normal sleep schedule to begin with. Glad to hear you had a pretty smooth recovery process.
I hope he has a speedy recovery and everything works out well so he can try to get some quality sleep! I think that was on of the real deciding factors of getting it done myself. At the time I worked overnight and with the kids home in the daytime I really wasn’t getting a lot sleep and not being able to breathe fully wasn’t helping.. so I really hope he gets some relief and good luck to him!
Thank you for posting your experience! My surgery was yesterday, no packing and no splints, hooray... I sneezed a few times, has to be out of the mouth. I requested that the Doctor leave my Turbinate's alone and he did, (I way too concerned about ENS). I'm looking forward to when this is done.... I suffered for years with this condition and soon it will be over. Good luck to everyone that has gone through this and or about to. Thank you again Darren, you made it easier for me to go ahead with this...
Watching this as I lay in bed finally home after my surgery, also had the septoplasty and turbinoplasty. It’ll be an interesting experience trying to sleep tonight - thanks for posting this!
@@elliottwalsh94 how are you doing now friend? Just had this surgery yesterday and didn’t sleep at all. Been up all night! Not a very good mouth breather here.
Hey man just had a endoscopic sinus surgery with some polyps removed, glad to hear about your recovery while mine is going on. Nice to know other people are experiencing this as well because I feel like I’m alone with it. Godspeed brotha
If you don't mind, how are you feeling now after a year? Is it worth the effort? Do you see improvement...? Just curious to know because I have my Endoscopic septoplasty after 4 days and I am super allergic too. I am kind of hesitant to do it.
I had a septoplasty and turbinate submucous resection done together with Sinus endoscopic removal and valve reconstruction. First 4-5 days are miserable and are expected to be that way. Then everything will get better day by day. If you have interior nasal splints you'll smell your own mocus, nasty, you'll feel very uncomfortable, etc but that's normal. Couple of weeks after nasal splints removal are weird. The air sensation is different but remember that mucosa needs to regenerate. Pro tips: Buy a humidifier and don't skip them nasal washes.
Just got the turbinate reduction... stayed awake for it, no pain too much, a little heat from the "Turbinator" as Doc calls it! Some pressure from Doc pushing the turbinate bone back after cauterization with his 2 knuckle deep pinky finger which was quite invigorating! Yes, day one I'm a bit congested as stated, much lighter blood. I've removed the tape and cotton balls and now I'm more comfortable overall. Even at this early stage I haven't breathed this well since I was 8.
I'm glad you soldiered through this, but I'm so glad I didn't watch this before my surgery. I had packing and stents and day 1 after surgery was the absolute worst discomfort I've ever experienced. Couldn't breath out of my nose, my mouth was constantly dry and my eyes and teeth hurt for days for some reason. I just got the stents taken out today and it feels like a literal weight has been lifted off me. I can finally breathe again. Definitely have someone take care of you the first 3 days or so if you're getting stents and packing. Good luck to everyone getting the procedure done.
I’ve watched a bunch of videos on this and you are the first positive one I have heard. Thank you. My surgery is today and this helped me tremendously.
Just got turbinate reduction using radio frequency coblation 2 days ago, as soon as I woke up I was able to breath from both nostrils for the first time ever in my life, i can also feel the air in my nose so hopefully no ENS 😊, currently in recovery, my ENT gave me nasal rinse, pain killer, anti bleeding, anti biotic & ulcer meds. So far my life quality has been improve, i sleep fast like a newborn baby 😊 Still experiencing clogged a bit as expected because of the dead skin inflamed and sheeding, it will be removed in 1 week on my next appointment 😊
@@786uchihamadara reading all the comment from people who claimed to have ENS, yeah I think being able to feel air coming into your nose is the opposite of ENS

Thank you for recording your journey! I had the same surgery you did 5 hours ago, thankful the surgeon didn't use packing. Your video is extremely helpful.
I just had a septoplasty with turbinate reduction and balloon sinus dilation all at once yesterday, honestly hasn’t been bad at all. I was pretty nervous about the recovery but exactly how you describe it in your video is how it’s been, just mild to no pain and some congestion. Thanks for posting this bud, gave me a lot of encouragement going into it.
@@joshuamartinsen64 on the third day now, honestly every day it gets better and better, no pain and minimal congestion. the big difference i think is the nasal rinse they have me do twice per day. it's been clearing all the clots and mucous out of my nose without needing to blow it.
@@tomstmoblg1 I just had mine 6 hours ago. How you feeling now? I have huge blood clots up there right now. Don't really know what to do with it. Isn't sore tbh
@@adampilling3125 so i had mine on monday (6/27) and by thursday (6/30) my congestion was completely gone. no splints and no packing (thankfully). i did have some large blood clots come out on that tuesday and wednesday when the congestion was the worst but after that it's just been regular mucous with occasional minor red streaks. my doctor has me doing a sinus soak twice per day (once when i wake up and once before i go to bed) with a neilmed squeeze bottle, saline packet, and two different medicines that get mixed in. i think this ultimately is what has made it so mild as far as congestion / healing goes. overall i had zero pain from my septum, they gave me vicodin which i took monday, tuesday, and wednesday every 4 hours. after that just extra strength tylenol every 6 hours. i'm back at work now since 7/5 and feel tremendous, no pain from the septum at all but occasional headaches from having the balloon sinus dilation but nothing unbearable. if i had to do it again i absolutely would, just being able to sleep all night and taste and smell has made it worth it. up until the procedure my congestion had gotten so bad i had to use afrin every 1 to 2 hours otherwise no air would go in or out. best of luck with your recovery!
Had it done yesterday. So far my experience is mirroring yours...hope it continues. Your vlog is by far the realest I've seen. Thank you for taking the time to do this.

Thanks so much for the video. Im on day one and looking for ways to help myself. Your video is so very encouraging, and yes, the humidifier helped a bunch!!!
Def do the saline rinsing. I just had both surgeries done in early Sept. I can finally breathe. I’m Not sure when this happened but my nose started to constantly run! Very irritating ntm wiping it/blowing it gently which has left the skin around my nose very irritated and chaffed! As well as the nostrils. No clue if this is natural. I hope you’re doing better now since I just found your comment which was 3 weeks ago. 💞🙏🏼
Just had three surgeries done (adenoidectomy, endoscopic sinus surgery, and bilateral turbinoplasty) and first day was the most painful just cos of the tubing that was on my throat during surgery. Also had too much bleeding. Today, is just the same as you with the congestion. Doctor said don’t use Afrin but Flonase instead and a Saline Spray so that’s what I’m using right now. Thanks for sharing your recovery!
Ok so you are at the point where you should start seeing change pretty quickly. It becomes more annoying than anything else but it definitely was not as bad as I thought it was going to be

I can breath through one side with stent in. Now just keeping it clean and Friday I'll have packing and stents removed. Can't wait for it to all done
Hi, your surgery was very recent. How are you feeling? I am scheduled next week. I will have stents. Were you able to breathe from nose at all after surgery? I see you were able to breathe on day 2 which brings such great relief to me. Wish I can fast fwd & skip the recovery stage.
@@myrnacortez8881 Right after surgery you won't be able to breath since there will be discharge. It needs time to stop. Usually a few days. Mine started stop the evening the second day, but still took a few days to completely stop. It may be different for you. It was only one side I could breath from and slightly during that time. Being honest, The first week is terrible and only being able to breath through your mouth makes it worse. You won't be able to sleep right either. But stay strong and push through it. The time will go by and once the stents are removed you'll be able to breath almost clearly. You will have swelling occur after but that goes away over time. Just make sure to use the saline as directed to keep it clean. You'll have about 3 cleanings after stents and or packing is removed. Just do your best to use the saline and keep it clean. They may prescribe you Afrin to help as well. I did still develop a small infection around second week but Dr prescribed antibiotics and it cleared up quickly. No issues after that. My headaches and pressure in my face is completely gone and I can breath clear now. Hope all works out well for you and remember, stay strong and think positive.
Just had surgery this week. I had the packing removed Thursday. Was able to breath right away then used a nasal spray and it swelled up until Saturday. I can breath through one side now. Hoping for both sides soon.
@@DeepakKumar-sb8pu it’s now day 9 for me and I can breath from both nostrils now. Have been for the last few days and I can feel the swelling come down. It will take time but you’ll hopefully heal soon and can breath naturally. NIGHT 1 - of my septoplasty surgery.. could actually breathe thru the gauze directly after the surgery better than ever before.. not much pain either, but I m up rt now at 5:30am (first night) bc I can't breathe thru my nose at all.. that part is crazy making for sure and to resist blowing my nose.. I'm praying for a bit more relief soon.. I been taking the Vicodin and Tylenol they gave me in alternating doses.. I wish I could take ibuprofen bc that helps reduce swelling but I can't bc it's a blood thinner.. even all sheets and bedding had been washed but my first two days are being spent in a home with 2 cats and a dog (in order to have help) but I think it's starting to irritate my nose so imma go home and see if things improve.. I would compare the immediate feeling to that of a major cold where your nose is really stuffed up and dry, so dry it causes the skin to crack causing discomfort (around the stints) with minor bleeding. I iced my nose for a bit to see if that would reduce the bit of swelling to get some air thru, to no avail.. Trying not to start crying like a baby 😥🤦🏾♀️ bc I hate biting more than not being able to breathe, but I know relief is just a couple days away bc I experiences a taste of it right after my surgery.. this is DAY 1.. I will try to return with an update... But don't be scared y'all, do your research, ask questions for clarity, and just thug it out.. most likely relief you'll feel after the surgery recovery week will outweigh the discomfort you felt on a daily basis before going under. Stay up family.. Namaste 🙏🏾💖

Did your otolaryngologist warn you about this or any risks involved after surgery? Or did he go straight to the point about you needing surgery after your first appointment with him?
I'm going through this now, I had it done 10 years ago without any packing or splints and it flipped back in place after about 6-7 years. This time my new surgeon has to rebuild it by taking cartilage from the back of my nose and use splints and a packing, it sucks but I'm betting it will stay straighter and last longer than my last surgery.

saline will actually dry you out. too much isn't necessarily a good thing, but you do need to keep the wound clean. in this sense, more is obviously better than less
I will be having the exact same procedure on March 17th and I’m praying I don’t have to have the nasal splints or packing. My surgeon won’t know if I’ll need them until he’s in there. Your experience makes me feel 10000x better about it. My only question is how did you manage to sleep? I know you have to lay on your back but how elevated was your head? How did you manage to be comfortable enough to try and rest?
I’m happy I could help! The first couple nights actually were really easy but I think it was mainly because of the pain meds making me a little drowsy. I ended up sleeping on the couch with a bunch of pillows behind my back.. I only had to do it for I think like 3 nights before I went to Just having one extra pillow than I normally sleep with. You don’t really have too much drainage while laying down. It mostly happened when I walked around the house too much or sitting up straight for long periods of time.
I *just* had this yesterday, but she put in splints. I'm in a lot of pain right now and a lot of drainage. It hasn't been a full 24 hours yet, but I keep telling myself the benefits will far outweigh this temporary pain. But right now, I feel like poop.

The fact that you went home and played down your surgery was super minor bro be thankful I gotta sit straight up my nose is bleeding like a mf and my nose splints are damn near touching my eyes. Be thankful bro. I wish I could lay down
Yours went so much better than mine. I woke with the worst headache in my life. Had stitches and splints put in, bleeding like crazy changing gauze every hour. Doesn't hurt, just haven't been able to breath through nose and won't be able to take my first breath through my nose for 6 days! I'm documenting my healing process as well, and will maybe post a collage video when I'm better.
I was just talking to someone else that had the splints put in and he said the moment they came out it was soo much better. But he actually had pain as well. Let the count down begin! Can’t wait to see your video
@@truegrizzlesfan2292 yeah still very sinus sick feeling. The surgery was on the 13th of last month, and I still feel like crap every day. There is still surgical gauze and foam and secretions which my e.n.t won't take out until another 3 weeks. So, what was told to me originally being a 4 day recovery is more like a 2 month recovery. Nose is healing well, just a lot of junk in my skull getting into my cavities probably getting bacteria infections. I'm following all my doctors orders and spent a lot of money on special saline rinses and such, but I still feel ill every day, which is now affecting my sleep, which is now affecting my anxiety and I had a panic attack today. This surgery has sucked soo much @$$. But at least i can breath. I'll be making a video documentary once I get the rest of the foam taken out.
I had this done on Tuesday morning on 7-20 and it’s now Saturday evening( 7-24) I’m still tender but the stuffiness has really gone down, had a lot of drainage the first three nights. I would say it’s just minor discomfort now, not really pain. What is kicking my ass is major fatigue, I have had an errand or two to run around town and do the last two days, nothing major, and I kinda felt like motion sickness, just extremely worn out, almost like a really bad hang over, honestly it’s worst than the pain and initial stuffiness. I know I just need to rest but if I’m not just laying on the couch then I’m really struggling, which is just surprising I guess.Hoping to have more energy the next few days. I am taking all next week off as well, so I’m sure I’ll be doing fine by then, just was hoping to be able to get some house projects done while I’m off haha. Thanks for the video
How is it now? I have surgery on Wednesday but I’m bit worried because a lot of people have said that the septum can re deviate and nose is just as obstructed pre surgery
@@TheNealsNextDoor Hi, Actually not as bad as I thought it would be. The doctor said I had an extremely wavy septum, whatever that means. He also told me after the surgery it was one of the deepest deviated septums he had ever worked on. The deviated septum could have been the result of a broken nose in high school football. Back then, get up, rub some dirt on it and get back in line. No splints, no packing. However, to put it mildly it's a "pain". Just mental irritation of sorts, as far as just getting through the days. Just something different you have to get through. Patience is my key problem. It will be 2 weeks tomorrow and things are definitely improving. After surgery and through the first weekend, pain, as such, was like a constant 4 on their 10 point scale. Low grade headache all that time, too. No medications or anti-biotics, I don't know why. Just Tylenol. I was supposed to return to work on Monday, but I was still out of it. Work told me to take Monday off and work Friday, instead. Partly retired, 4 five hour days a week. I slept 11 hours Sunday night and felt much better Monday. Probably, because the previous 4 nights I was not sleeping well at all. CPAP machine didn't help, either. Last Monday I started to feel much better. But, since then only mild pain. Nothing to get excited about. Nose always feels stuffed up. I do get some relief from the netti pot. I use saline spray, also. The last 2 days "almost" normal, nose feels so dry and full of boogers. Friday, I will see the doctor, I'm sure everything will be just fine. Finding out about the deviated septum was a complete surprise. It answered a lot of problems I had in breathing I had for many years. This was even after my wife had the surgery 10 years ago. I never thought it was my problem. Once again thanks for your video, it helped a ton.
I’m on day 4 of recovery. I had a bunch of nasal packing/stents, and consequently, I was bleeding a LOT. I’ve also been told not to take the Afrin just yet, despite having it. I say this to say, I’m glad your recovery is going better than mine.
Damn I’m sorry to hear that. I spent a lot of time talking to people before I got mine done and they had the same thing. When I was talking to drs my biggest concern was the packing. When do you go back to get it taken out?
@@TheNealsNextDoor got a weird question. I got my stunts removed but have been getting crazy boogers after a week. You have that problem the first few weeks after stent removal
@@TheNealsNextDoor days 2-4 were a bit rough, not so much from the surgery though. My body felt like a was smashed between 2 vehicles and the Dr said it was probably from the anesthesia. I went for a post op on Monday and he suctioned some God awful stuff from my nose, but it really opened up my airways even more. My mouth breathing has reduced to almost 0 and I predominately breath through my nose now.
I’ll also like to add that I would sneeze at least 50 times a day from the time I woke up until bed time. I have not had to sneeze a single time since the surgery.
Yea then the so that suction, my life changed forever. But I’m the opposite lol, I used to never sneeze but now I can’t be around black pepper without sneezing lol
Thanks for doing this ....I just got mine done today at 1100 am...I got the stints and a lot you said if already true.... helps me to know what to look for in the next days.
Here’s to a fast and full recovery! 🍻
Thank you!
@@TheNealsNextDoor you’re most welcome 🙂
I just had one of these myself. Three weeks later, I am pushing and pulling more air through my nose than ever with zero resistance. I CAN BREATHE!
How was your sense of smell after the procedure?
@@zachdonabedian7828 Maybe slightly stronger? I breathe through my nose a lot more after the surgery. That alone makes me much more likely to catch a whiff of something.
@@AsaGBurns Gotcha. Considering the surgery, but I need my smell for work and I'm paranoid I'll get ENS or somehow damage my olfactory system.

How inflamed are your turbinates?
Or were?

Good luck to everyone that has gone through this and or about to.

@Blaine Loughlin a good one. Better every day. Covid made me feel inflammation for a couple of weeks but Flonase helped a lot.

@@joshuamartinsen64 on the third day now, honestly every day it gets better and better, no pain and minimal congestion. the big difference i think is the nasal rinse they have me do twice per day. it's been clearing all the clots and mucous out of my nose without needing to blow it.

I had the surgery today. Turbinates reduction. Pray that i can breathe again. No pain at all.
I just got a Septoplasty and Inferior Turbinate reduction I'm on day #3 of recovery and I no longer require the "gauze moustache" no pain and it's been a wild ride so far I can't wait to be able to breathe again 😭😭
I hope everything is now good to go and recovery is going smoothly!
This was helpful as I'm taking my husband to do this tomorrow! Thank you so much for documenting.
No problem! I hope he is healing well!
Having this surgery tomorrow morning. Not looking forward to the long recovery. Thanks for sharing your experience. I am hoping I have a recovery along your lines, doesn't sound tooooo bad.
I hope so too!! good luck! I hope you have a speedy recovery
Just wanted to say a big thank you for making this video, just had my surgery this morning and I am still numb, and I have been worried all day that I may have extreme pain later this evening. Your video makes me think that I probably won't have any pain. I have the pain meds also. love the kids in the background, I wish my son was little again. I miss those days, man it's like you blink and they are 17 and don't want to hang out with ole dad anymore. God bless!
No problem! At all. Trust me I was nervous the entire time lol I was just waiting for the pain the come. I know some people had a really rough time so I hope your experience is similar to mine. The dr overall said most people don’t really feel any pain in the healing but it depends on how much work has to be done in there. It is a slow healing process though. lol yea I’m in the stage right now when just a few months makes a big difference in their personality and how independent they are getting. Let me know if you have any questions and I’ll do my best to answer them
Any updates, i had my surgery today.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I'm on day 5 after the surgery. My doctor put splints in my nose, hopefully getting them out tomorrow morning... I haven't really had any pain with the exception of my teeth up front. And you are spot on, so far the only discomfort is from the stuffiness, not being able to breathe really sucks.... I appreciate your commentary and look forward to getting my breathing back on!
Namaste 🙏🏾💖
Thank you for your experience. How are you feeling? It’s very detailed which helps prepare me for next week surgery. I ended up with a head cold two weeks before surgery so I was so stuffed up on top of my nasal blockage. That’s how I imagine it will be after the surgery. You were able to breathe a little after your surgery?
Any better now?
I had septoplasty yesterday, now i am feeling no pain. The first 24 hour i was not able to breath through my nose which was not too bad once those tampons removed after 24 hours you will completely be well with no pain . Don’t worry guys this was absolutely painless 😊
Thanks for doing this, I had turbinate reduction this week and found it very helpful
I was worried about packing but just wanted to say that mine was like cotton wool that dissolves on its own 🎉
Was very congested the first 2-3 days but much better after that so don’t worry if you have to have packing 🥰

How are you feeling now ?
Had my splints removed yesterday I’m still a bit congested with dry mucus and blood .Had a septoplasty and turbinate reduction .What I’ve struggled with is sleep I still can’t sleep properly I keep waking up every few hours not sure if this is normal or not ?I have a dry nose and scabbing too .
Hey soo when I had that dry feeling it was because I wasn’t putting enough ointment in my nose like you have to really put it up there. Once I started doing that the dry feeling started to go away.
I had a lot of packing. Removing of it was..... horrible. I did scream. But that's the worst of it. So far so good.
God bless you, Darren and Sherel. I pray in Jesus name you are healing well. Thank you again for all you do. Phil 1:3
Thank you and no problem!
Having this procedure done in 6 weeks. How are you feeling now. Would you reccomend it?
Honestly it really helped my quality of life. I didn’t realize how much I wasn’t able to really breath at times and how it impacted my sleep. So it has helped a lot. I deal with allergies now lol but I’m happy I did it
Just got mine done earlier today. Feeling like a million bucks!-same as you, no splints or packing up there. I got septoplasty with turbinate reduction and rhinoplasty
Hoping for a quick recovery

@@juanpisld2224 hello! I am feeling amazing. I can breathe like never before in my life and it’s only been 6 days since operation.
I had my first post op appointment today and my surgeon said if I am already impressed with how well I can breathe I will be in for a huge surprise when it heals up.
I would strongly recommend this procedure to anyone that needs it, I feel like I have a whole new opportunity at life now
@@SomeTrippyCanadian Love to hear that for you! Congrats. The only thing holding me back honestly is the disease everyone talks about after they get these type of surgery’s done. I’m talking about ENS (Empty nose syndrome). Honestly it scares me a lot knowing it can happen to me after this surgery so I’m trying to leave it as a last resort.
Needed to hear all of this SO much. My surgery is next Tuesday. So glad you shared your story.
Just had my surgery done on Sataurday. Will be taking off the splints on Wednesday. I really hope it helps with my breathing and even my allergies. I have allergic rhinitis and hoping this op will help with all the clogged nose and sneezing

It’s been a few hours since i got the turbinate reduction surgery. A few years ago I had the deviated septum surgery. You guys are strong if you are doing both. Compared to my deviated septum surgery, this surgery is nothing. It’s really not that bad I have no pain no, I had packing during the procedure but when i was awoken they took it out, wasn’t that bad. I’m waiting for the congestion. But when i take off my drainage bandage, i can already feel air coming through my nose. I can’t wait to fully heal
Great video I am on day 3 and this is way more informative that what I got from the doctor post op
Happy I can help!! Hope you healing well!
Just scheduling Septoplasty and turbinate reduction surgery after years of suffering. I have sleep apnea and use a CPAP with difficulty, I also have terrible insomnia. My doctor does use nasal splints and packing. I was afraid of having this done but this video helped along with the comments.

Thank you for this vlog; I’ve used it as a guide through my recovery.

saline will actually dry you out. too much isn't necessarily a good thing, but you do need to keep the wound clean. in this sense, more is obviously better than less
How did it go?
I *just* had this yesterday, but she put in splints. I'm in a lot of pain right now and a lot of drainage. It hasn't been a full 24 hours yet, but I keep telling myself the benefits will far outweigh this temporary pain. But right now, I feel like poop.

I just had my turbinate reduction done today. My nose was clear when I left the doctor but now I think the Afrin is wearing off and my nose is starting to get stuffy again. It is good to know that after 3-4 days the stuffines pretty much goes away enough so that you can breathe a little better through your nose.

@@TheNealsNextDoor Bro How do you feel now? Most people complained of getting empty nose syndrome from septoplasty that ruined their lives. Do you still feel better than before the operation. I was scheduled to have this done but turned it down cause of Ens. Will appreciate ur response 👍
I actually feel great now… only issue is that I know sneeze more and a little more sensitive to pollen and dust which I never was before. I still do flush my nose about once a week or so. @@Mark-bm9kr hey mark, any updates .

Thanks for the information. Really good. I'm having mine done October 5th. You answered and explained a lot of things I was concerned about.
how is your recovery going?

How are you feeling now?
@@TheNealsNextDoor days 2-4 were a bit rough, not so much from the surgery though. My body felt like a was smashed between 2 vehicles and the Dr said it was probably from the anesthesia. I went for a post op on Monday and he suctioned some God awful stuff from my nose, but it really opened up my airways even more. My mouth breathing has reduced to almost 0 and I predominately breath through my nose now.
I’ll also like to add that I would sneeze at least 50 times a day from the time I woke up until bed time. I have not had to sneeze a single time since the surgery.
