  • Over the weekend, many Nigerians expressed outrage at the absence of top government officials and president Mohammadu Buhari at the funeral of the late chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Ibrahim Attahiru and 10 other military officers who lost their lives in a tragic plane crash last Friday.
Meanwhile, the outrage was inflamed after government officials were seen attending the wedding ceremony of a son to the minister of justice and attorney general of the federation Abubakar Malami which coincided with the same day the stricken officers were laid to rest.
A short clip of Bashir Magashi Nigeria's Minister of Defence attributing wrong titles to officials and making grammatical blunders at the funeral of the late chief of Army Staff and 10 other military officers have made the rounds.
Following the reported death of Abubakar Shekau leader of the terrorist group Boko Haram, Bukar Tanda, an aide, to a member of the House of Representatives, Adulkadir Rahis who showered praises on the dreaded leader has been fired by his boss.

That Rufai guy speaks it as it, calling a spade, a spade. Abati is just too diplomatic always looking for excuses for the guilty. If they were Muslims, and it is the will of Allah, why was COAS wife broken down during the burial? It's hypocritical to say because somebody is a muslim, he should accept everthing as the will of Allah and go to a wedding ceremony while others are mouning.

@Liam Finch Like I said, the north has so many issues and there are a lot of skewness on so many opportunities between the North and South. It is also important to note that there are exceptions even in the north. Its not always the singular narratives peddled consistently especially in the media. I can tell you there is beauty even in the North, nevertheless

That north has issues does not mean that they should drag everybody backwards. Only Sanusi and a few are up to standard. Our educational standard is low because the people in power do not value education therefore will not fund it as it should be. Nigeria is living in bondage. I don't get it when educated men will elect an illiterate as their own political party flag bearer. Imagine malami on an interview comparing herders and spare parts dealers. Who did this to us?????

What a gross shame on the state of Nigeria....? How can the state of Nigeria appoint this guy as the minister of defense. He's not even close enough to be a local village defense chairman.

Tundun, Rufai and Dr. Abati made very good points. There is something wrong with the President. He and Osinbajo should have attended the funerals and pay their last respects. What is still bothering me is that it took three days for the Nigerian Flag to be flown at half-staff. Shameless. Concerning the minister of Defence, Bashir Magashi, it's a disgrace that he can't even read and pronounce words. I laughed so hard that I fell down from my chair. How did he got to be the Minister of Defense?

It's really sad what a joke of a country we have. When I see some things, I don't blame people asking for secession. The country is terrible.
