Absolutely gorgeous card. Wow. I love the mixing of oxide & regular distress inks, such a great look. All the mixed media techniques, embossed background, layered up frame- really just a fantastic card.
Thank you so much for a really beautiful card and thanks to Nina as well. Both of you are so inspiring. I actually got out my distress inks and started smooshing again. Can not wait to see what is next!
That background you created is absolutely beautiful. I love the color combo. The white frame and flowers look great against this grunge background. Love it!
My god...... What a Fantastic card Mindy. I love how you build your background with all the interesting layers. Dragging the inkpad over the embossed design made it a WOW detail for me. Beautiful, Beautiful work 👌
I just love love this card! Thank you for the inspiration. I was searching for a b-day card idea for my adult son and yours is spot... but maybe without the flower... all of your cards show how talented you are! Thank you again.
I love this card! My favorite thing I learned was using the large stamp pocket instead of small acetate, is that the ink stayed spread out far better. On small acetate it tends to puddle in a fold line and you have work constantly work that out! Great idea!
Mindy, this was such a great video! I enjoyed seeing you use Distress Oxide inks and doing a grungy card! So good!! I’m going to copy this one for sure!
This card looks fantastic! I took a class yesterday on mixed media and learned a bit, but mostly watched. I may try your idea one of these days. Thanks.
Had to subscribe after seeing this video! Have never thought of doing this "reverse smooshing" technique. Great card and I absolutely love that embossing folder. 😊
OOH, I like it, and I'll make it. I believe a crafter in the UK or AU came up with a "smoosher." She crumbles a piece of paper towel, puts it in a piece of packaging plastic, forms like a ball, and ties it on top to hold it. She makes the same mixture of ink and water, dips the smoosher in and applies the colors on the cardstock. It's easy to control and leaves interesting marks, kind of like broken glass. And, of course, you can layer with the same or different colors. After you're done, just wipe it clean, and it's ready for your next time to play with. I now use only the "smoosher."
@@MindyEggenDesign i did have a play, to be honest it was looking like a disaster and not as pretty as yours, but i kept going and they turned out in the end! Lol

Thank you for teaching me so much. I have a difficult time with smooshing going to try how you did it 😊
Beautiful
I need to do some ink smooshing too. It’s been a long time. This is beautiful card!

Sounds like a good idea for us "control freaks". Thanks for the idea! 😊

Such a beautiful card! I have problems with stacking die cut layers. Need more practice. 😀

Time to go play with ink smooshing again!!

So neat
❤ it 😊
I’m looking for the third time, just trying to grab everything. I love it. What is the best kind of paper or weight to use?
The Tim Holtz watercolor cardstock is amazing and holds up well to all of the mediums. I have it linked in the video description
@@MindyEggenDesign Thanks. I’ll have to get some. I made one card so far. I’ll try to figure out how to post it. Thanks again.
I really like mixed media but it intimidates me.
You should give it a try! It's so freeing!
