This has been a solid producer for me in areas with good populations of free swimming caddis larvae.
This pattern is very similar to the caddis patterns of Oliver Edwards. Thanks for the great tips and instruction Oliver!
The legs are a great addition to any caddis larva pattern, or stoneflies and clinger mayfly nymphs.

Hey Hans, on a whim I rewatched this video today. I remember when you posted this a decade ago and I tied some up. To this day, it's still my go-to hydropsyche pattern here in Colorado. So thanks again for sharing it!

@hansrcsd Absolutely fantastic video my friend. Perfect distancing from the fly with the camera. Thanks again. I really like the leg idea.

Hans I really like the leg thing Thanks. One thing I have been doing is using more subdued colors - but a chartreuse wire for a rib.

The emergence dubbing I used for this fly is synthetic. I believe it is antron. Their natural dubbings are wool

This is a super realistic pattern and I especially like the legging technique. I would like to incorporate it into some of my other patterns. However, I have tried relentlessly to learn how to do the legs and they always come out terrible. You make it look easy! Can you offer any pointers, besides just practice, practice, practice?
