- A few weeks ago, I got a TLC Lanie and Kanani doll from a friend of a friend of a friend. I never thought I would ever have a Kanani in my collection, and for the price, I couldn't pass these dolls up. In this video, you will see my first time tightening limbs and my first time doing a hot water boil. Enjoy!

Ahhh gosh limb tightening is a breeze but I remember completely taking apart a custom and having to restring her entirely and it was too much work lol

Thank you so much! There are a bunch of teenagers and adults who collect dolls on UA-cam and instagram. It's great finding a community of people your age who have such a unique hobby that you can connect with. Fixing up dolls is so much fun, I hope to do It more often

That method of tightening the limbs isn't full proof, though. It will loosen up over time as the elastic bands stretch out. Restringing is harder, but the better method. I've had to properly restring all of the dolls I did this elastic band method on.
Thanks for telling me. I’m not too worried about them loosening as I’ve had older dolls that I’ve never had to tighten. I just need them to stand for photos

Ahhh they both turned out great!!!! Yes if you do want to ever curl Kanani’s hair just out it in the rollers and dunk it but not for too long just a dip to get them to set and then throw them in ice (I did this too long on a Saige fixing that I sold and the first time her hair was like Shirley temple crazy hair like Merida lol)

Both Kanani and Lanie turned out so well! They look beautiful and you did such an excellent job fixing them up! I don't even know how you did the hot water dip or tightened their limbs, you are so good at that. I tried tightening my dolls limbs once, and when I tried to put her head back on, it was an epic fail.🤦🏾♀️
Kanani's head still needs to be put on a bit better, It just takes forever restuffing them

The hot water dunk was pretty easy! Limb tightening and I assume eye swaps are much harder

It depends how often I use the doll. If their hair starts to look messy I’ll recurl it

Anybody else think that would be kind of creepy to be seeing a doll in the bathroom with its head off and it just staring you in the eyes like it might even kill you. But that is my opinion.(for the record I love AG dolls)
I’m fortunate enough to have my own bathroom, so my other family members rarely go in there. I’m the only one who saw the doll heads in the bathroom. Plus I can shut the door so it won’t stare at me

Probably TLC american girl doll. TLC means the doll is in rough shape.

I've been collecting for about 7 years, so overtime you memorize the numbers. Plus I already have a 25 in my collection so I know her number
