Great little video, thrilled to watch a new fan discovering the world of VII One thing, I think Tifa just wanted to remind Cloud about his promise. Not because she was in trouble, but because it's something that means a lot to her. The promise that was made long ago. Cloud and Tifa are the love story that should be but there's just too much going on for them to be together. I think Aerith is the woman that Cloud is slowly falling for. But Tifa is the girl that Cloud has always wanted to be with. So there's a love triangle going on Choose your ship wisely lol

Just so you know, there is something of a play order that you're thankfully starting on the right foot with by visiting the original instead of jumping right into Remake. Here's the order: 1) Final Fantasy 7 original (or that mobile remake they're coming out with that recreates the whole game with new and standardized graphics. I think it's called Ever Crisis?) 2) Crisis Core (hooray for the remaster) 3?) Watch Advent Children Complete (can also be watched after finishing the game instead of jumping right into CC). There are two versions, Complete is the one you want. 4) Remake. It rewards you for having played and watched the above. 5) this is half joking but Maximilian Dood made a really good breakdown video of what actually happened in Remake and what it really means in the scope of future games. Remake is a real doozy, and I'm excited for you to see 4K jiggle physics Don Corneo 😂 Please continue chronicalling your journey :)
Just came across your channel through your FFX videos, I love your content! Really amazing to see someone head into FF7 knowing nothing and hearing your first impressions! I just beat FFX recently and played FF7 first, so we’re bit reversed in that way haha. I hope you really like FF7, it’s my favorite FF game alongside X
I love FFX but FF7 is great. I think the original is a bit outdated graphically, so I say just enjoy the story. I'm a Tifa Cloud shipper. I think of Aerith as more of the wise woman of the story. And yes there's more to her than meets the eye
Aerith isn't really limited by the forced limit break as it only blocks "attack". Aerith should only be doing magic, which isn't blocked. Its definitely a flaw in the game. Don Corneo, you say? Have you seen to the Honeybee Inn? Happy the graphics don't stop you from playing the game. They didn't age well, but it definitely has charm to it. I don't think Tidus was never an afterthought with Yuna. She was very much interested in him the first time she met him. Its just Yuna is more shy and reserved. Its definitely a slower burn. 7 is very whimsical and I love it. Interesting enough, it still works in 7R and CCR despite the graphical upgrade.
I don't care much for the, eco-terrorist/corporations are bad, aspects of the storyline of it, but it's a good fun game, and I think you'll like it. I wouldn't call it one of the best in the series, but it is most definitely the most important title in the series, as without VII, and it breaking into the western market as it had, we wouldn't have any of the subsequent titles as they are. Enjoy your play through, Miranda.
Don cornetto 🤣🤣🤣🤣! I found you by chance when i was in the home section and i glad i clicked your video. Normally (normally, a pity @-@) a good portion of people that have started (or not) to play FF7 after watching/playing the remake knows some things that are not even included yet in the remake, which is sad, i like genuine reactions. So i'm actually surprised that you're one of the few people that are completely blind so...i'm curious to see yours! And guys, please don't do any spoiler, it's annoying 🤨. About Yuna and Aerith (by the way, i should watch your FFX video too) for me personally remains two different characters despite some similarities. I like Yuna, but how Square Enix destroyed her in FFX-2 made me feel sick, her behaviour was like...a total new person and i personally didn't and don't like it. Let's say that her cheerfulness is present in Aerith, and both people have a strong will....buuut...i don't know, at the same time both background for both characters are so different to give them their own and personal traits. So yeah, basically somehow are similar but for me not too much. I personally prefer Aeris/Aerith (and Yuna is my favorite 2nd character) and if you will continue to play the game, the game may give you an additional reason to love her more. The same is also applied to the other characters of course, but since you were talking about Aeris 🤣... What i like in FF titles (or another recent title like the last of us) is that they can give us the possibility to form a bond between all these characters, a thing that for me is not much present in recent titles in general, so i think that i'm 100% sure, that you will like or even love FF7 like it happened for 10. About the "love triangle" i think (and maybe i'm wrong) that a similar thing that happened in the recent remake. I read an article time ago about a certain scene in the remake (don't worry, i don't say anything, it's about the translation) where the japanese translation was different from the english one, pointing out how the japanese version was like, a bit neutral, not seeing both of them so attached to Cloud, while the English version was like a tease between Tifa and Aerith to have Cloud first. Maybe, because in '97 the translations were not so loyal and perfect with grammatical errors between (or it is also the japanese mentality that plays a huge role, especially in the remake, because i played after the game both in English and in Italian, but translated from the Japanese script and in fact i noticed some differencies) maybe it may also applied the same case with the original. It's not easy to catch all the hues from a different language like japanese. I mean, like i wrote before for the remake, the Jap version is like more contained, more shy, while the western version is more like the common mentality that have lots of western people here (oooh the damsel to save, yeah, like that one). I also read another example from a guy that translated some part of the original game from Japanese (which i don't talk about it because it's spoiler) and in that case i'm still surprised that is not known and is still considered canon and i'm wondering if Square took this psuedo English translation to create partially another story (in Crisis core). So yeah, maybe mentality and a rough translation may be the culprits. Finally, you did well to not play before Crisis core (it's a blasphemy to play it before the original game 😱🤣 !) i personally suggest you to watch after you finished he original game Advent Children, then play Crisis core and...urgh, there are also before crisis and dirge of cerberus buuut...nope, they are not necessary (at least before crisis, i didn't play it too) to understand the whole story and yes, because dirge of cerberus for me is a total cr...your eyes will bleed for sure. Then play the remake so you can go to another deep immersion and...or you will have fun or you will cry in despair (not because you are getting emotional like the ending of FFX, you are crying because you are so pissed off that you want to kill SE 😂). Actually (and unfortunately) they decided to included also parts or elements of Dirge of Cereberus in the dlc of the remake so it is automatically became canon buuuut...feel free to not play it or not,if you want to be a perfectionist, go for it, but watch out, it's not a jrpg so you have been warned (and maybe it is one of the many reasons this title is so ugly). There is also additional info for other media, if you're just curious (always keeping away any spoiler): There also additional material like some short animation movies that are also contained in a small book called on the way to a smile, a tale that is between the end of FF7 and as prequel of Advent Children, so they are not necessary to watch them if you want to try the novel (or if you don't want to read it just skip it, it's not a tragedy). Another additional novels like the one from the turks (i didn't read it, but if you want to read it, surely do it after playing the original) and a new novel released after the remake about Tifa and Aerith, called Traces of two pasts, read it after playing the remake of course). There is also a forgotten media called also Last Order and that was released before crisis core and advent children, so during that time it was an additional material for a particular event that happened in FF7, but then it was shown after in crisis core so...yeah, not essential. Yeah, this world is so huge that you feel lost easily 😵💫. There is also a unofficial novel called The Maiden Who Travels the Planet (if you want to read it, read i it after beating the original game) but it's not still considered canon (square doesn't want to say and give a clear reply). *So i may suggestion this order: FF7- On the way to a smile- Advent Children- Crisis core, FF7 Remake with its dlc if you have a ps5 (yeah, thank you Square!). The rest is not essential but if you want to look more in depth the world of FF7, these material together with ultimania are essential* There is also (yeah, again! It's the last one, i promise 😆 ) a new game that will be completed who knows when (in 2023?) called Ever crisis, which is basically a full package which includes the whole compilation, all the games and media but with a graphic (android) similar to the original ps1 game, so let's say that maybe is the most close (graphically) thing to the original game and the "true" remake the fans wished/asked for....but there is a but. It's a huge question mark because it may be not a faithful remake, a scene hints that there is something behind so...URGHHH, WHY SQUAAAARE?! And as always i write too much, forgive me 🤣. I'm lazy to check if there are grammatical errors so... *i'm flying away* 🤣.
Wow! I appreciate the enthusiasm. It is pretty natural for me to be under a rock. 😅 I don't keep up or watch video game news or trailers in general, but even when I do see something, it doesn't stick!
@@MirandaLemons lol, so they're like a repellent 😂. In the end i know about this game because it has been a huge part of my life so i think that's natural for me to have in my brain so many info, but for the rest i'm just like you, i have not an interest in other (and probably) more popular games 🤣.
FF13 and 15 are terrible at storytelling (15 being the most offensive with how they required you to watch an anime and a bad movie to understand the world and none of it is delivered in the game with how much of a rush job it was after Nomura was taken off the project and they scrapped tons of development). They've had a bad lull in the single player ones but FF14 is genuinely the standard bearer for the franchise with the literal best story, especially with the recent expansion. Please try it out and play through the story when you can!
I don't know anything about the inner workings of Square-enix, but it's clear they went from a fast-moving, creatively adventurous studio to a more lumbering, risk-averse studio with bottlenecks and major development problems.
@@MirandaLemons the PS360 era hit Japanese developers hard at the time due to bad development habits (building engines from scratch for every game ever instead of building on existing tools or middleware like the west, tendency to not appropriately archive their development assets, Japanese hierarchical rigidity, etc), but SE in particular had really bad company culture where each department of development simply didn't talk to each other, culminating in the fucking mess that was FF14 1.0. Worth watching the Noclip 3 part documentary on 14 to get some insight on that. The fast moving nature of the SNES and PS1/2 era didn't scale with the aesthetic and brand ambition of SE into the next generation. Hard to say what happened in the decade long development of Versus 13 before it got scrapped, but you could make a few guesses. They really struggled with their in-house dev tools vs the capabilities of the hardware of the PS360 era. 13 is very pretty but it's also the victim of giving bad writers and directors control of the series. Same with 15. It's also a victim of the new era of Analytics that came with online connectivity, with Gears of War developers famously pointing out that players weren't finishing the single player portion of games. This sent waves through the industry, moving everyone towards extreme hand holding and linear corridors until Demons/Dark Souls broke the mold and showed that there was an incredible desire for real challenge after literal years of games that babied players. Hence hallways and 30 hour long tutorials in 13. Crystal Tools have only ever been used to develop 13, 14 (but HEAVILY customized over the years), 15, and Forspoken, which is being made by the developers of Crystal Tools, Luminous Productions. There was a good reason why Kingdom Hearts 3 was made in Unreal Engine. Oh and I guess there was a cool tech demo video made with crystal tools that looks loosely related to Forspoken. The fast moving development style you refer to is basically small teams or indie games. Stuff like Bravely Default or Triangle Strategy, etc, are much closer in line with that kind of game dev, simply due to scale. It seems like they're definitely doing that much more these days with how diverse their output has been recently, focusing a lot on niche classic RPG experiences, at least as a publisher. The long dev cycle between title announcement and release of 13 and Versus 13/15 left a really bad taste in everyone's mouth I think, hence the conscious decision for why they didn't show or announce 16 until they were far enough into it to be able to show real time footage and gameplay. SE mismanaged and heavily damaged the FF brand for a solid decade. Here's to hoping for a brighter future post-16.

Its Don, not Dawn.
I think that's just how she pronounces it
Sorry. 😅 Can you share how 'Don' is spoken phonetically?
12:00 and then ther's IX...
New sub! FF7 is amazing! you're in for a good time! Also, Its actually not too big of a deal to play Crisis Core first but I'm happy that you're playing the original game. Going to watch this while I drink my smoothie hehe
Thank you! Hope you enjoy your smoothie. ☺️
I would not play Crisis Core first. CC could harm the impact 7 has (also there are references)
@@delsingray5923 Crisis Core is a prequel. The only thing it does it give more backstory, which only adds to the FF7 understanding. I play Crisis Core first back when it came out, and then played FF7 afterwards.. Im not saying you're wrong. but from my experience playing Crisis Core made me love FF7 even more
