This used to be my dream card too. Crazy how four years has already passed.
I feel u every Year there's a new graphics card and the old ones feels weak
@@sawyiier4870 i mean this one still holds up really good, it was made when nvidia still cared about their gpu's.
@@maksimdjalic9594 I personally run an RTX 3080, but I bought a GTX 1080ti Founder's edition for a good price as a collector's item. This card is so respectable and still performs great.
For sure, how long have you used the 1080ti?
20:17 The Pro Gamer Moment
Wow man, that's the exact GPU I've been rocking since late 2019! I'd really like to see how it overclocks, especially considering the fact that Nvidia didn't keep the best die for themselves back in the days.
I tried a bit of OCing with this one, it was pretty bad, guess we didn't hit the silicon lottery with this one ahahah
I've seen some people achieving 2ghz+ on it :)
@@zWORMzGaming Yeah I understand. I got a 1080 Ti back in September 2O19 and got it replaced in March 2020. The one I had before could hit higher clocks than the one I lastly got but, since it was crashing, I don't think I had the choice to keep it. In the end, I took the opportunity of watercooling it when I built a custom loop on my 5900X since putting a block on a GPU is always much better than running it with the stock aircooler. In the end, I got my temps down from ~61°C (undervolted 1911Mhz @1.012V & +600MHz memory) to ~48°C (overclocked 2012Mhz @1.081V & +700Mhz memory). I don't think watercooling this card is worth it today, especially when considering it's age, but since I was planning on keeping it for a while I thought why not. I'm glad to see it being utilized as your GF's card, that's an interesting choice since it's pretty old. Either way, thanks for putting out this video, it was very entertaining and maybe useful to people that are still considering this beast!
I have a 3080 in my newest/current PC, and I have an older backup PC with a 1080ti in it. Im still surprised every time a new game comes out and I decide to try it on the old rig. At 1440p it still breezes through most games. Kind of makes me wish I would have waited for the 40XX series instead of the 3080.
I'm definitely not replacing mine until the 40xx series. Maybe even the 50xx series.
What's ur proccesor in ur old rig?
I have the 1080ti and i will wait for the 4000 series... probably rtx 4080 will do just fine
damn, ngl you not even bad in those Gmaes, like in R6 the flick you did was clean and smooth and it was perfect on the hole where the enemy could look. Respect
the 1080ti destroys the rtx 3060 in performance its crazy
I have a 1080 ti FE in my desktop and a 130 watt 3060 in my laptop. The 1080 ti doesn't destroy my 3060 at all. I actually get very similar performance and the 3060 might pull ahead in a few games.

Both GPUS are kings of their time . well done video !
Damn, what a freaking beast that 3090!
Sold all my RTX cards and went back to 1080ti's in both mine and my dads PC's (1080ti Amp Extreme in mine, 1080ti ROG Strix in his). They outperform both of our previous 3060ti's and they cost us a few hundred bucks less. The 1080ti is the Terminator Cobra of gpu's: nVIDIA will never make another one as good for the performance/value you get out of it.
2100mhz (2088mhz actual; 99% in ThermSpy) at 50c for the Amp Extreme (re-pasted), haven't tested the OC on my dads Strix yet. Absolute beast cards
I've had these, sold these, traded these. This is one of my all time favourite cards and I guarantee NVIDIA regrets making it.
WOWWW you got yourself a 1080 TI ? Good job and great vid! This card is so impressive it can be even faster than 5700xt and rtx 2070 in some games
Been running the Poseidon variant since 2017 and it is still truly amazing. Been playing Far Cry 6 on a mixture of high and ultra settings on a 1440p 34" ultra wide with no issues. Averaging upper 70 lower 80's for fps.

The fact that only a few years back you needed to pay only 699$ for a top of the line gpu, now you pay 1500$ for a 3090 that doesn't even perform that much better than lower class card (3080, 3080ti)
3090 is the worst priced card. The 3080 ti is also a pretty bad deal.

I love this card. I bought a refurbed one directly from EVGA at $400 dollars in 2020 before GPU prices sky rocketed
I had a step-up from an EVGA 980Ti, to a 1080, then step-up to a 1080Ti (lucky timing). Just ordered a i7 12700k ddr4 system upgrade. Hoping the 1080Ti will work well until the GPU market settles. Best to all.

Mine started to struggle with the newest games at 1440p. Metro, RDR2, and Cyberpunk are the big ones. I need max settings because that's just the level I want out of my money. It is on low settings (1080p), but I think maybe your drivers aren't up to date because that it quite low.
It could also be that your cpu isn't poweful enough because the game almost solely relies on your cpu.

i like how he reviews the gpu with real in game player, and not bots.AND HES PRETTY GOOD AT IT TOO
I can't believe the prices since the 900 series though, the 10 series was kind of like the 5th gen Ryzen CPUs, they went up, but it was for a much better part, but now it's ridiculous. 30 series it better than 20 series in terms or price to performance by a long shot, when they are at MSRP. At least the 2080Ti was a lot faster than the 2080, the 3080Ti is just pointless
