Great way of getting pumped up for the release. I pre-ordered the collector's edition nearly a year ago and looking forward to it arriving. I already have a spot for it reserved for it alongside all my other Trails CE. And of course I'll double and get the digital copy because I want to play it as soon as possible.
Was a massive risk and nearly got spoiled for something 3 games ahead but was worth it for the HYPE! The combat looks amazing even if I’m still a lil worried 😂 man I wish I had the collectors editions for all of them, the postage here sucks tho 😔 3 days to go my friend let the painful wait continue! I'm really tempted to take Friday off and make it a 4 day weekend. It's just weird having the 4th of July fall on a Thursday and have to go back to work on Friday.

I'm surprised you avoided spoilers and trailers for this long. The opening is not as spoilery as the trailers you saw. More or less, both trailers and opening have big spoilers but you won't notice them until you get context for them. That's similar to how previous game trailers/openings did it. If you are worried for the kind of opening that lists the characters like the ones from CS1 to CS4, there is nothing like that here. Combat in this game is great. The hybrid combat is very good. It has a few issues you'll notice, but those will be fixed on the sequel. The engine itself, for an in-house engine, is quite good. Again, coming from Cold Steel you will notice it inmediatelly.
I basically go completely radio silence on this entire series ever since the end of cold steel 2 got ruined for me 😔 people love to just straight up speak of spoilers with reckless abandon especially in the discord 😂 so I’ve learnt to be incredibly careful. Ok phew this will be the first trails game since CS1 I’ll actually watch the opening when it happens 😂 I can’t wait I’ll definitely be trying out both styles, even if it’s a bit clunky fair play to falcom trying to bring new players in. Our community is sadly pretty small still 🥲 Oh for sure it’s incredibly noticeable in reverie in the few scenes they use! It’s so fluid compared to what we’ve had all these years lmao especially noticeable in the characters faces

The only thing I'll say about this game, is that, at least for me, it's a return to form on the Trails series. I really enjoyed this game, and I think it's probably the best first game in an arc so far.
To your information Agnès the blond hair girl you think is the love interest for Van is a highschooler, she is 16, Van is 24... So it would be kinda weird but then again Falcom loves to ship young girls with older men. From my understanding I know as little about Kuro Daybreak as you but from my understanding there is no set in stone romance for Van (yet) maybe the 3rd final game will change it. Most people ship Van with the Bracer girl you know from Reverie post game Elaine because she and Van are the same age.

@@Steveagogo I don't think Van is the oldest one if we consider Rufus or Kevin as 'main protagonist" what they are but he is definitely on the older side, way older than Estelle, Joshua, Lloyd or Rean, Rean grew through 5 games, so he was over 20 at the end of his arc but he also started very young like Lloyd and Estelle. I only played the first couple of hours of Daybreak, so this is not a huge spoiler, in a nutshell yes, Van and Elaine do know each other as good childhood friends and she does care about him. The combat what you also asked in the video is not like FF7 Remake, you do have the option at any time to switch to turn based and stay there like you always did in previous games. You can play the whole game in turn based and be fine. The action gameplay is also very, very simple, very bare bones don't expect anything complex, you have an attack button, a dodge roll button and a attack what you can use once your bar is full and make the enemy dizzy (good to use before Switching to turn based). The action combat is mostly for grinding or to make the game less same old, same old and in boss fights the game forces you to play in turn based. Also, no only in Cold Steel you had romance and you could date anyone, in any other game that wasn't the case in both Sky and Crossbell you had a set romance, in Sky clearly Estelle and Joshua and in Crossbell they are clearly shipping Lloyd with Elie.
I consider the main protagonists of reverie being Rufus = Rean > Lloyd even tho a lot of it was about crossbell they didn’t feel as important in the end, but I loved all of the routes so I don’t mind 🙌 still need to play the sky games, I started at cold steel 1 completely blind to the franchise and it was on sale. @@Steveagogo I absolutely agree with you but sadly only Sky Trilogy went hard with integrating a romance as a important story part. Crosbell is similar to Daybreak where they I think hint when it comes to possible romance but they never go full in (sadly). I agree with you when it comes to the combat, I also prefer turn based, I still liked some action JRPG's like Astral Chain or Scarlet Nexus where the combat was very unique and very flashed out but I will always prefer turn based or tactical strategy JRPGs. How I said before with Daybreak you can immediately go to turn based you don't need to use action, the action combat is ultra simple, I think is mostly there just for faster grinding or to sell the game to the casual mainstream audience but is clearly a trap because the turn based combat is the main focus of the game 😂 so no worries!

(was also addicting to just driving around) heh i don't mind it to much as this series needs SO much more attention and if this is how they get it it's a worthy sacrifice!
