Thailand has a vibe that you can't find anywhere else in the world. It's such a lovely country. I had the best time of my life there. I felt incredibly depressed for about a month when I returned home. I still miss it every day, and that's why the algorithm keeps recommending videos like this, which I watch all the time 😭
If you plan to revisit Talad Phlu again, I recommend to go there in the evening as the street food will be a lot more than daytime. Another neighbor I highly recommend you to visit in Bangkok is Bangrak & Talad Noi where is my most favorite area in this capital! You will found a well blend of Thai-Chinese-Indian. And I can confirm that your Thai is really improving. Keep going Joyce :)
It's nice to see you in more local areas. Super cool vibes. I'm waiting for you to visit places in Isaan like Korat and Khon Kaen. Keep up the great work. Cheers.
Thank you for another rich video. I definitely see Thailand suits your spirit better than the Midwest in states. I feel as though I just got my Thailand fix for the day and so many things in this video to give consideration to-appreciate you walking us thru and I am learning some Thai just listening to you🙏🏻
Your Thai pronunciation is impressive. I started following you since you were doing reaction videos back in the US, and am impressed by your efforts to learn the language :)
I kept missing out on Talad Phlu each time I come Bangkok! The next time I am not going to miss it. Will make it a point to come to look around. Thanks for your Video, Joyce!
Joyce your content is amazing , I have been living and visiting thailand for 18yrs , i have just started speaking thai , but when you speak thai u can get away with it because of your Chinese back ground , but I sound like a real farange . But please keep making great videos , lots of love and blessing for success. 🙏
UA-cam started pushing your videos into my feed while taking a weekend trip to Bangkok. Ended up binging most of your vlogs😅 Your storytelling is very compelling and pleasant to listen to. Plus the personal growth story is one of the best I’ve seen in UA-cam. I can relate to your experience. I grew up in a small town of about 8000 and moved to Hong Kong in 2007, that was the place to be at the time. Anyway, good luck and remember to preserve the parts of your personality that brought to where you are now😎 PS. Love the American accent with a honkkie flair.
I am Thai watching your youtube from Florida. I love they you explore the local Thai with respect. I love traveling and we always visit everywhere in the world with respect to the local. I can see you will speak Thai fluently in just one more year. Go girl 👍
I want to recommend a place I visited last month. It's the Snake Park of the Thai Red Cross Society near Lumpini Park. There is a performance every day at specific times, and after the performance, you can take a picture with the snakes. I think it's really fun. So if you aren't afraid of snakes, I strongly recommend going there.😆
In upcoming weeks there possibly chances that weather will change a little bit, that end of monsoon season 😂 but don’t get too lofty in our less hotter season? Because air quality is main concern due to less ventilation in the city area so there will increasingly of dust pollution (pm2.5) so please be prepared when you go outside. ❤
Great to see you eating in local places. I remember you some time ago described such a place as a bit sketchy. But I can’t believe you still don’t know what’s in those condiment containers on the tables. Usually the 4 on a little rack are sugar, dried chili, naam pla and chilli in vinegar. Same as Thai noodle places here in Sydney, Australia. I haven’t seen all your videos, but hope you’ve tried yen ta fo, and boat noodle soup. Two beautiful soups. In another year you might have graduated to kuey jub.🤣. Your Thai sounds great by the way. I think being a native Chinese speaker maybe makes the tones easier to manage, but you sound perfect.
there are many local communities in Bangkok and metropolitan (i rather say every province in Thailand) for you to discover. Good video, Joyce. Thank you.
Your Thai is sounding good. Just keep immersed in the culture and keep practicing. You're really coming along. You can only connect with the people on a deeper level if you can speak their language. There's a quote by Nelson Mandela that says, 'If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his own language, that goes to his heart. LAHN MA translates to grandma's grandson.
I've never ventured out this far when I went to Bangkok. I think the river acts like a natural barrier to more tourists going over. Thanks for also pronouncing Cha Tra Mue, never knew how it was actually pronounced! Also Lanh Mah, (under How to Make Millions Before Grandma Dies) got a very limited release here in the States on 9/13. Unfortunately none near me that I can go to.
Wow your Thai is better than mine, I am 100% Thai but been living in US for over 50 years, getting ready to retire soon and will move back to Thailand, been back 4 times already this year and been trying to get my Thai ID card but they won't give it to me. I'll be back Oct 14 for a visit. Been practicing Thai but hard to do when you don't have anyone to talk to. I learn new words by just listening to you.
_The scooter guy complimented your Thai and then wanted to practice his Mandarin/Cantonese with you for you to rate his proficiency. It's not weird._ 🤣

Wish you coming back here (Thailand) again and again...Sathu..(สาธุ)...
Very true. Same feeling for me.
Wowww. Your Thai accent is very clear now. It's so beautiful. This video makes me smile automatically. So lovely.

Love your channel and you! Wise and fun :)) ❤❤️❤️❤️❤️
Aww I really miss that area. My late grandma used to live there. 🤍
You should go to Ying Charoen Market; it's a local market with cheap produce and fruits. You can take the BTS skytrain to Sapanmai station (N20).
米粉睇落唔錯= =+

She should take a train from bkk to Hat Yai. The scenery along the way was awesome. I went there in spring 2012😊
Hi Joyce thank you for another great video. Btw your hair looks lovely in this vlog. How do you eat so much and still remain so slim? 😅
น่ารัก❤
_The scooter guy complimented your Thai and then wanted to practice his Mandarin/Cantonese with you for you to rate his proficiency. It's not weird._ 🤣
