in frequency separation, it is normal that the low frequency layer to be blurred because it is just blending all the skin tones together, to add texture, you need to enable the high frequency layer. watch my other video about frequency separation right here: ua-cam.com/video/sj7akoLasmg/v-deo.html
unticking the high layer hides the texture and it will only show the low layer which is indeed blurry as it should be. you need to use the mixer brush tool to seamlessly blend the skin tones. you have to be careful when using the mixer brush. only very light strokes and you need to constantly change the brush size depending on the area you are trying to brush on
