Watching this man play was as much a part of the performance as the sounds coming from the instrument. I don't think I've ever felt this type of emotional connection to a performer, truly transformative.
Treecko Treecko that's why this piece is so beautiful- you can play it slowly to your taste, or however you like. So much room for personalized expression in Arabesque 1. :)
Arabesque No. 1 being such a flexible piece that allows for a variety of interpretations is what made me fall in love with it. It’s fascinating how the same piece can sound so different depending on who plays it.
If music has a taste, this is extraordinarily delicious! The more I listen to Stanislav's playing of this gorgeous piece, the more I appreciate how delicately he plays the 'fill' while picking out the melody notes with deft feeling. It brings me to tears of joy, every time I listen and watch with absolute pleasure.
Необыкновенно хорошо! Кажется,что это живые капельки воды поют свою нежную мелодию: тихонечко звенят,журчат и светятся. Спасибо,Вам! И да здравствует БУНИН. !!!
Magnifique interprétation, pleine d'émotions. Rien à voir avec ceux qui jouent trop vite et où l'on n'entend pas les notes, comme une personne parlant trop vite... Bravo,c'est un régal de vous écouter...
The thing I like about many of Debussy's works is that it leaves so much to impression. He leaves guidelines and small trademarks in his work that let you emulate as close as possible; but I much of it is ambiguous as to many of the different ways you can portray the piece. I think that is what makes Debussy such an amazing composer, he let those playing build the song in a way they wished. Something many composers i feel were afraid of, they wanted to ensure their music was remembered how they saw it (which is fine).
That was amazing. I didn't expect him to play fast and forte some part but it sounded good. I like it played tenderly but I was sensible to a lot of part, so it's really good.
I have searched for so many versions on UA-cam, but, no one manages to compare to this rendition! Many play it as if it was an etude devoid of anything but technical skill, whilst Bunin here just draws us in with his introductory notes. This is the best!
finally someone who sounds like they actually enjoy what they are doing. I am feeling this one :) i normally can't feel the emotion of many other piano players, they sound like they were forced to sit in front of piano since they were 5 years old, but this guy is not like them, he brings emotion to it, like how music is supposed to be.
+Simon Binovsky Yes, it's extraordinary how unknown he is. As far as we know, he currently resides in Japan where he has founded a private music college.
+LOFTmusic I wonder how is it possible that winner of Chopin piano competition is so unpopular. There is almost nothing about him in the internet, interviews, articles, new videos. I can't find any video of him from 21st century. He doesn't allow to record his performances? He can be one of the best pianists in the world.
This piano 🎹 art was Claude's most known piece imo amongst others. Such ethereal beauty. One stands on a beach on a cool fall day, as the sun sets in the west. Thanking God for His creation, His salvation, and the fact He created man, to make such soul inspiring music. 🎶

How dare he to change the chord A major in the chord progression into A minor?!!! Actually it makes it really special, I bet that even debussy would embrace this chord, give it a cool quality of minor fourth degree, and he start with the tune in the original A major chord, because it wouldn't sound good if he would start like that. I like the idea that classical players can change the music sometimes(unless it's not his change, but a different version of debussy to the piece)

I completely agree with you Mark.
Mark Kraus I agree!
Agreed, he does a better job than most, but slowing it down especially early makes it incredible.
Facts! I play it at this speed. Savor the notes, people.

CREDITS TO BUNIN, PLEASE !
The D natural in the bass note of bars 17 and 87 is a hella bold choice, and it sounds so good.
I KNOW. I heard it and immediately my ears perked up, it was jazzy
Do you mean he chose to play D natural instead of sharp?
C natural. Turned that chord into A minor.. blew my mind. Had to listen dozens of times.

「アラベスク」は これくらいの速さで 空から音の破片が舞い散って来るような 余韻が感じられる弾き方が良いと思います。さすがブーニンさんですね。

very nice, performance, I could listen to Debussy any time, such beautiful music....
Always enjoyed Bunin's Schumann so thank you for uploading!
That C naturtal on 1:05 provides a new radical of the piece.... :) Agree?
Totally. Caught me off guard.
And he does it again later on - did he miss the key signature? lol Nah tbh I actually kinda like what he does.
Yeah C natural instead of C# in 2 spots. Sounds interesting, but not aligned with how I played it.
It sounded nice - I learned C#, I wonder where he got the natural from
Not my favorite rendition but...I respect his mastery of the piece.

At 1:06 he played an F#m7b5 chord, when he bemolized the third, changing the original, which would be a F#m7. Certainly, it was on purpose.
Definitely on purpose. Does it again @ 3:37.
That change makes it even more beautiful, which is unbelievable.
For me is slightly discolors the sound
That random clap after approves it.
