One of my favorite bands of all time…The 70’s era, presented and abundance of artists, who’s creations were then and to this day still Are, just outstanding music, Steely Dan is no exception! In addition to having music, which has the staying power, beyond imagination…it is without a doubt, music that will continue to be great, long after its creation…I’m glad I grew up in the 70’s! We were blessed with an enormous amount of music…in every style…and there’s still…nothing like it! 🕶🥁🎶🎼🎵🎤🎸🎹🎭✨
He’s superb. Love his stuff, and that snappy snare is nice. He’s not Porcaro, but then nobody was. Miss Pete Christlieb. Listen to the extended version on Citizen Steely Dan. His solos are … well, just look it up.
Fun fact "The Eagles"did sing on the track.which in my opinion why Donald and Walter handled ALL the instrumentation. Aside from drums. It's a musician thing
Steely Dan at their finest! FM was being played on America's FM stations circa May, 1978!
Any live SD is a GEM! Thanks 4 this ! Aloha from Hawaii! 70....80s.... was so awesome !
One of my many Steely Dan favourites.
Mine too!!❤
Thank you for the music and the raw footage!
What a great live version!

Just brilliant in every way 🎶
The movie FM wasn't much to write home about, but the soundtrack is legendary!!
The part where it was a movie was just transferred to tape and made into an album. The song FM is what is legendary.
I love how Elliott recreates for the most part, his marvelously improvisational solos from those epic Dan sessions. Thank you Elliot!❤
Ricky Lawson seamlessly fit into the group's jazzy rock vibe. The man was a great drummer whose style was so versatile.

Thanks for posting this awesome live version; what a treat! I got to see them live at Pine Knob in ‘96 and it was a hell of a show.
Dang ,this brings back some great memories, Becker/Fagan what a “pair”!
So happy to see Walter Becker playing. RIP
They kick fuckin ass still do sounds timeless
One word, TALENT
And a ton of hard work.
Hahahaha...1978 comes completely back to life, and only 45 years ago....
Saw them live in Sydney years back ....fkn Awesome 😊
My favorite version of this song 🎵 ❤️
Excellent and love the camera work
Some good notes being hit there.
that is some funked up music...
Wow! That was perfection!!!
Steely Dan always fantástic!
WZZQ Jackson! Those were the days.
Brilliant!
Wonderfullll ll!!
Classic
Fab performance by Walter
It broke my heart that this wasn't in the hal Leonard book
Bumpus..Cornelius Bumpus.
I adjusted, but I like the pace a bit slower than that.
So enjoyable ..Donald has the right idea..give pleasure cuz that’s what I want
great intro lmbo
How Purdie is Pretty Purdie… hitting those skins. Nice.
Do love this s
Would love to know the complete personnel. Is that Purdie? Who’s the other guy apart from Walter on guitar? Tenor player, bass? Etc.
Ricky Lawson drums Jon Herrington guitar Chris Potter sax and Tom Barney bass other sax is Cornelius Bumpus
The drummer was the late Ricky Lawson. Great player up until his passing.
Ok good versión, analis to use de phaser effect, on electric piano, rodes or wurlithzer...
Fun fact "The Eagles"did sing on the track.which in my opinion why Donald and Walter handled ALL the instrumentation. Aside from drums. It's a musician thing
Correction not Purdie, but sweet nonetheless.
I had no idea this was a Dan song. I heard the cover version with Damon Albarn as 2D singing.
Bumpus was the right guy for the sax solo here
Victoria Cave!
My time stamp was 4:20. Make of that what you will...
What's up with all the F bombs ???
It's funked not the f bomb member it had air play
like Josie but just, er, better.
When the excitement is passed to Becker it just drops off, thank goodness they got a real lead guitarist.
Steely Dan suffered from too much lead guitar, wanky stuff. Would've loved to hear more solos on the piano, rhodes, and horns.
@@ericdoce4974 disagree Eric, theres some wonderous sax solos in their work too!!
@@adrianbew4414 true! Dr Wu sax solo is forever
@@adrianbew4414 - Phil Woods.
masterpiece
Please, what are the names of the background singers? Especially, the middle lady. I love her. ❤🎉😘
