WTF! I was just re listening to Weathervanes cause the Noah Kahan song "New Perspective" has a riff that reminded me of this album and had no idea he died... Every so often I check in to see if they released new music. This is so sad, FW is severely underrated!

I learned about Freelance Whales when I rescued their demo CD of out of the free/rubbish bin of a radio station a little more than two years ago. Out of the 10 or so albums I took, theirs was the best by far (well, the Nat King Cole remix album was awesome too).

This is one of my favorite bands. I am recording an album and I would say they are the biggest inspiration behind the music I am making currently. I love this video, and I absolutely ADORE the entire album. Buy Weathervanes

Yeah, listening to this... all that comes to mind is: WOW. Amazing. It makes me want to paint again for some reason. Just brings something to the surface that I'd forgotten about somehow.
Seriously people- Judge those who found this in whatever way they did if you want, but the music speaks for itself. And that's something I don't think any of us can really argue about.

This is a great music video. I like their melding of contemporary and vintage, especially the removing of the masks one by one. I'm pretty sure The Cure's The Hanging Garden did something similar.
