Thanks for this video. This really helps with some of the steps in the instruction book that I didn't quite understand.

David Achmoody, Thanks for the comment, sometimes there are steps that are confusing so glad the video helped out, thanks again.

If the parts looks as though they may be difficult to push fit, especially those with the thin relief cut to allow for spring, I rub a little candle wax on the ends and they slip in quite easily..
Thanks for the video, it solved the question I had about how many rubber bands on the main drive. It showed it was eight (8) but the inset on the plans showed them as though they were doubled (folded in half thus each band making two).

@stewall101, thanks for the comment. There are some pieces that need a little wax or sanding to make them fit better. It's just trial and error to see what is needed. Glad the video helped, thanks again.

Very cool model, thanks for the assembly. I am curious: what is the track width of this train set?

Marc S, thanks for the support. The track length is 34 inches, and the width is 3 1/4 inches. Thanks again.

Bryan Morillas thanks for the comment. I really enjoyed building this and later on I will build a newer train model to go along with this one. Thanks again.

@@johnslossenger6482 The Beeswax is what you use to coat the gears or any moving part the instructions show that need it. This helps reduce the friction between the wooden pieces to help the pieces move easier. I have also used a silicone lubricant spray after the model is complete to get to some of the hard-to-reach areas. Someone else had mentioned using Vaseline, but I haven't tried that yet to see how well it works. The Beeswax hasn't let me down yet, you can check out my first wooden model video, I go into more detail about cutting and using the Beeswax. Good luck.

@@johnslossenger6482 No Prob, that's the reason I started doing this because I couldnt find any videos to help me on some of my models. I have about 5 or 6 wooden models to look at just to give you some ideas, thanks again.

I found that the cow catcher hung up on the rail joints. The drivers needed an additional spacer because hung up on middle wheel

MDCochrane I'm glad you found a solution to your issue. Most wooden models with a lot of moving parts will always have something to try and figure out to get it to work the way its intended. It took me a while to figure out to smooth the toothpicks on the wheels to keep it from catching on the rail. I hope your model is working fine now, thanks for the comment.

BTW, your chassis is not completely flat on the frame. The front set of locomotive wheels aren't even;y spaced in their wells and the first spinning wheel hooked to the gears with the rubber band appears to be off center.

disastertom thanks for letting me know, I'll check it to see if I can fix it. Sometimes there are a lot of pieces in the way, or you have been looking at the model way too long to notice any issues, thanks again.

I just finished this model. There is no way that your parts went together that easily. I had to really work at many of the pieces - some to the point that I needed to use pliers to pinch them together.

    • @coopscreations2033
      @coopscreations2033  2 роки тому +1

disastertom thanks for the comment, I was just as surprised as you when some of the pieces went together as well as they did. Usually, it does take some extra force to the point of breaking some edges off. Most of these sets are hit and miss when putting the pieces together and how they are laser cut. I guess I was one of the lucky ones to get an easy one to put together. Thanks for watching.

@@coopscreations2033 I just finished their Wells Fargo-type stagecoach and the fit was excellent. I agree, this kit was, for me, more difficult to remove the bits from the cutouts and a little more difficult to fit.
Perhaps they are made at different places, but the difference between the two kits was quite noticeable.

@@stewall101 Thanks for the comment, each company is a little different and sometimes each model is different as well. Some are easy to put together, but others are more difficult to get out of the sheets. Good luck with other models.

Great video. However In my case the finish product did not want to move with the rotating arms connected to the wheels. It has a binding effect even after sanding the tooth picks and lubricanting with the candle wax. I ended up removing them and it was fine. The front wheels also were just slightly elevated than the rest of the train body. Rating this model 6 out of 10. Not impressed.
