@@ScottieDPOYY nobody knows is the answer, of course, and least of all me, but based on what we can take away from last season and the olympics as well as from the trades and the draft i think we can expect the first part of the season to be difficult. we have no way of knowing about injuries which can be a huge factor for this team. i just feel like the talent, the brain trust, and the coaching all point to something very good once this team finds itself. that will take time, but the question is how long? they're in a tough division with a tough schedule and i don't expect early success in terms of winning very many games, but for those of us looking at the bigger picture success will be measured in progressive development with the wins coming later in the season. bottom line for me is the quality of the leadership from the head office down to the players on the court. i believe the execs are outstanding, that they have the right coach, and the players are young and have a lot of talent, so for me the potential for success is already pretty much in place. we will be frustrated and disappointed if we expect them to start winning early on, so maybe we ought to just accept that the wins are going to come later. we watched an ugly season last year, but it was also very interesting, and by the end we could see encouraging signs, and that there is a commitment to build a championship team for the long run. two things: poetl can play and he can and did make a big difference when he was healthy. he's solid and they're going to need him to stay healthy bc they won't win without a centre. secondly, grady dick is going to be a star imo, and he will shock a lot of people who watched him have a tough rookie year. maybe they missed the part where he showed grit and determination and that he found his game toward the end of last year. i remember thinking to myself that he had to muscle up before he could really succeed and play up to his potential, and that's what he did. what are your thoughts? i could be in la la land. i've been there before lol. enjoy the season.
Our Center was out a lot and when he did play we were fine. We added Bruno Fernando on top of that and Kelly O can hang with back up bigs.. just not starting bigs. What should we have done? Was someone available that we missed? Does everyone forget how injury riddled we were last season?

@@vintagejo4159 Thats how he won 6th man of the year? His scoring and defence off the bench? Kid you have a problem with everything. He has playes good defence for multiple years now. He was bad with us, but oh well? Have some faith...
I seen other comments were you hating too for no reason..
@@ScottieDPOYY men I have fait in iq shooting lights out IF they LET HIM PLAY HIS GAME.?…..shoot. ..But this raps org is gona demand max min, 2 way game, and 20 plus points .you watch and see and they r probably right since they paid him 3quater of max. Now his d was probably only decent cause he came off the bench with limited min. Wait until Ujiri play him over 35 min per game ….. and naw men I don’t HATE …I just see things from a different angle …I don’t like being a SHEEPLE.. I like to question things ? Having a different narrative is ok or else we might as well live in North Korea. Lol
@@vintagejo4159 He has always had a two way game lol, if his defence slacks back, thats pretty typical for star guards. I don't see why we are assuming he becames trashcan on that end. What we are going to ask him is to become a better floor general and just improve as a player overall. Thats typically what you ask of young guys. You act like they are expecting Magic Johnson out of him with elite defence but I don't think they are? Ujiri also doesn't play him 35 mins a game, Nick Nurse did that and he is gone? althought 35 mins a game is pretty typical for your starting PG, its the 42 mins a game that are ridiculous. Which Fred played aLOT of. So you essentially want him to stay as a 6th man? Scottie is supposed to what, score 50 points a game? Whata re you saying lol, you think him taking on more responsibility than a 6th man is bad why? Player progression is dumb? How do people make it to the NBA if they never improve? Nothing you say makes any sense dude, maybe in your head its not whiney but its the same negative nonsense everytime I see your name? Why? WHY. Repeat the same things over and over man. Worse is its all wrong lol. Why.....
@@ScottieDPOYY bro everyone speak about iq like if they follow him throughout his whole career . Many of raps fans never paid any attention to iq coming off the bench in ny but they all of a sudden see him as the superstar that raps miraculously found.lol iq is a shooter period. Forget about the clips that you seen of him on UA-cam from his previous spell with Ny. . I am making a prediction which all of these commentators on UA-cam do and you call me whining. Lol. I am simply saying that pushing iq to be everything which ujiri has a history of doing will lower his game . Grow yes as a player but don’t push..( I know I know it not ujiri it’s the coach , it’s the assistance coach it Webster it everybody but ujiri lol).
@@vintagejo4159 Look man, I will leave you be. I guess I just hope I said enough in the few chats we had you must see I have been right on a lot. Whether I was right about it all? I won't claim that but everytime I scroll through the community its 85% complaining, 5% actual basketball chat, 5% praising something and 5 % of people like me telling everyone to stop complaining. I dunno, if some of it made sense or some of it was new complaints I could understand but most times its just complete lies and just living in the past. Anyway, sorry for the grief. Good luck our therw
Ugh. Imagine if Jontay dint pull a FVV and 'bet on himself' we'd be in such better shape.
IQ and Porter could be low key nice. Ahhhh what Could've been lol.
good stuff
If he can get 2 more rebounds and 2 more assists. While adding a steal per game and maybe a point and a half increase minimum We're really talking
Fear not then good sir, in a Raps uniform he had 1 more rbd, 2 more assists, 0.2 more steals and 1.5 more points than what Ben showed there. So yea, good call on the stats lol
that's not a reach at all. he's good for that no worries. dude is strong as bull, sky is the limit imo bc he can improve his D still, and he's 24. that was a great move that looks really good for the future starting now.
IQ, Dick, RJ, Barnes and Jak. Not a bad 5. Low playoff team... but the bench. Stressy over it... Davon, Ja'Kobe, Brown... Kelly O/Boucher and whoever else... yeah... not sure it's a winner.
Dudes blowing up IQ in a scrimage?? F delusional!
Lol
Men scottie and iq will get buckets. RJ is that average guy 14 points against good terms 20 plus against Nets. Now the question is how , who is gona provide the rest of the points and how do raps win in clutch time.? Do raps have a 6 man that can deliver ?
@@vintagejo4159 RJ is young, since joining us and in FIBA he has played really good. He scored 20 against the good teams for us, picked up all his shooting %s across the board. New situation and new town, new teamates and you expect him to regress? No faith again. No, we don't have a great bench. Their young, we have loads of unproven talent, we have been rebuilding for 6 months.. complain about them in a year or two
we cannot judge this time upon last season. it was chaos what with all the trades and new guys all of a sudden more or less thrown together for the first time. they actually did pretty damn good under the conditions not to mention that grady was a rookie who had a difficult intro into the NBA. he is not really being mentioned along with the big three and their rookies and trades; but i think he will be huge this upcoming season and will be part of the conversation. suddenly, the raps have potent scorers including grady. These guys will shock the usual NBA analysts who do not really see what they've put together.
@@rickducharme7429 The analysts low ball us no matter the cost. They actually seem baffled about our team like we are the Chicago bulls or something. They are a mess and we got a bunch of young talent yet feels the same in their eyes. Vucevic isn't half as good as Poeltl, SB wayyyy better than Giddey, and on and on. Plus their ages vs ours
@@ScottieDPOYY 100%. i'm geeking hard rn for the season to get started. i'm loving the moves, trades, and draft picks. a big surprise is coming for those guys imo
@@rickducharme7429 Yea I can see it, I still greatly question our depth but I don't even think thats a bad thing. We 6 months into a rebuild, ofcourse we going to have young unproven talent. I do think our roster is super balanced though compared to before and that the east is pretty bad minus to the top seeds so I can easily see is getting to a 7th 8 seed vs what the analysts think of us landing at 12th or something. Personally, I just happy we onto a new chapter, with a balanced roster to produce good actual ball with and a coach that doesn't like ISO heavy basketball. Will be fun watching Darko work with a healthy squad that likes to pass. So even if we get injured and finished iwth the 10th seed (not saying we will), I will still be happy to see development and good ball being played. At worst we will be a very tough out and hopefully our Defence picks back up and become that long old pest team we always were. Anyway, I half with ya. I certainly more optimistic than most, but can see it not going SUPER good as well. Even thats still better than most would say

We would have to be better than 1 to 2 of those teams to get to 7 8 seed. Who knows man, who knows
You are getting caught up with preseason work out again.. Without another center this team will be like last year with a difference way of playing
Our Center was out a lot and when he did play we were fine. We added Bruno Fernando on top of that and Kelly O can hang with back up bigs.. just not starting bigs. What should we have done? Was someone available that we missed? Does everyone forget how injury riddled we were last season?

@@ScottieDPOYY under the circumstances last year they did well imo. chaos all over the place, and those guys just kept playing hard. that bodes well bc it shows the character of those individuals. those are the intangibles that the "experts" overlook. in fact, they overlook a lot about this team. Moreover, they are in the middle of a rebuild that is looking pretty damn good to me in a very short time.
Poetl is just fine if he can stay healthy. both he and GD got stronger in the gym this off season.
raps ain't shocking anyone lol
that's why they play the games.
the expert analysts on the idiot box have them finishing at the bottom. that won't happen. they finish somewhere near the middle bc they won't deliberately tank. so, yeah, they will shock the sheep who take that garbage seriously.

let's play the games first. but, the point is that this team is a teardown/rebuild, so winning games isn't where the focus needs to be rn. let's stick to the plan and commitment to build a great team around some key young players, keep adding and improving over time.
