Unfortunately, the lighting was super harsh when I was there. The material looks great though. I have videos for lots of these plants on my channel. Swift Creek is a wholesale nursery that sales to a lot of the garden centers and landscapers in North Carolina. Thanks for watching.
I relocated 2 small volunteer redbud that couldn't grow where they seeded. Hope they were small enough to move, they can live & grow in my yard. Nice shrub & tree lot, thanks for bringing us along. The pot in pot method is genius, removes all the dangers of growing in big pots.
I was drooling over those skip laurels! I planted a row of them several years ago and mine have done so good. Those and anise are my all time favorites in my deer-heavy property. Love em!
Love all the redbuds especially the Flame Throwers. Unfortunately, the deer prefer to feast on my Flame Throwers and Rising Sun. Fun fact, while you were away, I found your Irish older highly energetic brother from another mother’s youtube channel called John Lord’s Secret Garden. 😂
Isn’t John hilarious? 😆👍 The way he hacks into things gives me hope for my gardening skills. And, Jim’s advice has already saved soooo many of my plants, too.
Somebody else’s charming Christmas tree...fast forward 35 years and it’s now our huge problem. Two of them! Until I figured out they were deodor cedars, I assumed they were another pnw native like the big leaf maple we also have. A whole lot of trees for our modest yard. The birds love them.
where do you buy the big black pots in bulk/wholesale and the black matting you have in the video? I cant find wholesale big black planters anywhere. 15 gallon pots?
I love the nursery towards your doing! It's a shame that the lighting was so tough to work with. Have you ever toured the Camellia Forest nursery in chapel Hill? I bet they're going to look really spectacular soon with everything in bloom
Hi, Jim. I'm watching this video right now. I've been trying to identify a tree that grows wild in our subdivision in East Tennessee. I took a picture of the tree and also took a leaf. I'm hoping I can identify it by watching this video. If not, where can I send a picture? Thank you so much.
For clump river birches that you are growing, is it better to plant three trees in a pot or prune the one tree to have three competing leaders? I’m trying the one tree three leader approach at the moment. Funny the deer started this experiment!
Beautiful. Is red tip Phetonia the same as the Clyera? Hope at least the spelling was close 🤦🏻♀️! Lol. Great tour. I love how they “plant” the trees. Tfs. 👏🏻💕👏🏻
I’m looking for. Swift Creek Varigated Privet. None are sold near me because they say they’re “invasive”. I’m sure you would not recommend then if that were so. Any suggestions? I also checked Plantsby mail. Thank you!
@@JimPutnam Thanks for your reply. The suckers were in full effect and the crepe still bloomed. Will the suckers turn into part of the trunk of the main tree?

Deodar Cedar, “someone else’s problem “ made me laugh out loud!
Thank you for adding the details with notes and zones. Really helpful.

The color on maples get better with time. Planted a sienna glen 4 years ago and its just starting to come into its own color wise and structure wise.

Julie H Yes, he always makes me LOL!
Great trees. I love those redbuds they are fantastic. I’m a horticulturist..you very inspiring me to start a UA-cam channel.
We used a mix like you suggested. Green Giant, Cryptomeria and Carolina Sapphires
Hi Jim. Can you explain their planting container process. Great vids!
Nice... I love trees and woody shrubs!
Amazing tree farm!
Any chance of doing a video focusing on irrigating a tree nursery with hundreds of pots?

Almost at 100k subscribers 😲🙌🎉
(Also, I love shrub nursery tours 💚)
Beautiful trees!!!
I wish I have the space for a couple of them
I have always wondered what it’s like when I drive on Cleveland road. Thanks for the wholesale only tour

I actually have a Camellia forest tour on the channel. It may be broken into two videos. Thanks for watching

Wish our local wholesalers would get Flame Thrower in. So far no luck her in OK.
Would love a flame thrower redbud.
Perhaps the rare and beautiful oky doky oak.

No, cleyera is different. They are slower growing than photinia, but they have the advantage of staying alive 😂

Why you skep the River Birch Trees?
How big would one of those deodar cedars get it 10 years? Asking for a friend.
Got a quick question. Does suckers destroy a crepe myrtle tree? I prefer to leave them alone rather than try to cut them. Please help, Thanks!!
It won't destroy it, but it is better to cut them off. It takes energy from flowering
@@JimPutnam Thanks for your reply. The suckers were in full effect and the crepe still bloomed. Will the suckers turn into part of the trunk of the main tree?
Do Cryptomeria trees thin out like conifers? I have 3 of them and one of them is getting a little yellow in the center
Yes, most do as they age.
@@JimPutnam thank you for the quick response.
Can i transplant a fire power nandina now?
Yes, but it may be better after it is totally dormant
Is it open to the public?
They open Saturday in the spring.
HortTube with Jim Putnam Thanks!
Heritage river birch zones 3-7 ??? You sure about that!?
Yeah. Most people put 3 or 4 to 9 on birches, but I agree with Monrovia that it is to hot in 8 and 9 in the southeast.
75ft tall screening plant ahahaha
It really does. And it thins at the bottom and becomes a pointless screening plant.
