- Profile of singer Jerry Vale from a series on crooners I did for the Today Show. Vale, in addition to loving music, also had a passion for baseball and one time, at his own expense, hired an orchestra & backup singers to help him record the national anthem, which he then gave, free of charge, to ballparks to play before games. His recording was the first song inducted into the baseball hall of fame.

He will always number 1 when it comes to singing lovely Italian songs I grew up with
My good friend was a drummer and about 35 years ago, there was a benefit at a Synagogue in Deal NJ. Jerry Vale was the main entertainment , with my friends backup band. He told me ,"At the end of the night, Jerry Vale complimented each member, Had an excellent smooth voice and very professional. He was a true gentleman, very down to earth, gracious and one of a kind".
THE BEST SINGER JERRY VALE..I LOVE ALL HIS SONGS..
I'll never forget as a kid, seeing and hearing Jerry Vale on 60s TV. Ed Sullivan, Jonny Carson and the MDA telethons. He was reaching out to folks like me more than the better known crooners of the day and to me his unique voice and stage presentation were the equal of any of them. What a special talent and wonderful man.
sorely missed crooner legend.rip✝️jerry vale
