Thanks, Amadeo Rizzi. I've watched Deerhunter, of course since I live in Bangkok. Been to one of the locations, too; Patpong road used to be a red light district now it's a night market. Last night I finally watched Heaven's Gate (What took you so long?) Outstanding picture. Superb director. Tonight it's Deerhunter, again. Thanks, Bangkok-Johnny
Kiitos 'Amadeo Rizzi' huippu haastattelu.Merci infiniment. Eilen vihdonkin katsoin Heavens Gate's. Tanä iltana aion Deerhunter, kolmas kerta. Ranskalaiset tekstit. J'adore. Terve Bangkok-Jomppa
You have to take his claims with a pinch of salt. Many people who have worked with Michael have stated he is a pathological liar. The idea that you hear him "drowning" and all that... padding himself on the back for writing the screenplay alone, claiming he was the one who made sure John Cazale was not fired, when in reality it was DeNiro who said something to the effect of "If he goes, then I goes" and basically made sure the studio kept Cazale. Meryl has attested to this. Michael was an interesting and unique filmmaker, but his wild imagination and narcism seem to clouds his judgement and truthfulness.
Cimino was always full of shit. Thank goodness he had plenty of time to cook up his version 'cause we're always suckers for a story. He always had one, including the ones he cribbed. Mmm hmm, you heard me.
Une admiration immense pour ce cinéaste hors du commun.
Truly a legend.
