Terry. I love your vids of WA. As a frequent visitor to Perth from Ireland and with many friends in Rivervale, , I hope I meet you sometime. Fascinating stuff. I love trains. I love Perth. My mate's sons work up in the Pilbara. I'm too old for all that! I'll hang around Rivervale and Oats Street. Thanks for your vid on the old railcars, riveting stuff.
Worked for a period on the beginning of the Tom Price- Paraburdoo rail, also worked in the powerhouse at Robe River rebuilding a V16 Mirrlees that was stripped to the block and crank, almost 4 months work. all over a small internal water leak, it was decided to do a total rebuild as one was due in a few hundred hours. Great country up there, loved every minute of it. Hope to see more of your posts soon, Terry, they are great!
This is some really cool footage, those big old Alcos were really working! I’m from the US near the Powder River Basin coal fields and I always wish someone would’ve taken some videos of that area when things were really popping off in the mid-late 70s. Thanks for sharing!
Hamersley iron had two mines at Mt tom price iron ore mine site and eastern range mine at Paraburdoo and cliffs robe river iron associates and mt Goldsworthy mining company at Mt Goldsworthy and shay gap
When i was in grade 6 and Hamersley iron ore trains took me and my grade 6 class to dampier and stayed at Pilbara camp school in dampier western Australia Australia 1980.s
