I want to get singing lessons but I'm scared to put myself out there like that.
Do it! I began a month ago and love it. Can I afford $80/week? ABSOLUTELY NOT….but I don’t regret it
You could first try lessons on UA-cam like vocal warm ups and vocal range exercises. This will make you feel like you can already sing because your voice wil be so clear and you can hit higher or lower notes. Then if you're interested in learning more, you can get actual vocal lessons.

It has 3 more parts which you could also check out. But that one alone already makes you sound so clear.

My problem is...When I sing so I'm imitating the singer....I cant find my voice..😒😂

You could try speaking it first then singing it like how you usually sound when you speak. I don’t know if that made sense but it helps me.
Same! Sometimes when I sing with music loud, when I sing this specific part, I cannot hear my voice its like blending with the singer. So i dont actually know if I sang that right or not 😂😂
if you want to find your voice try these
Singing tips:
Do like when you are bored and the sound you
Warm up your voice for at least 10 minute
Sing with a straight face
Say lemon in your mouth to find the real sound of your voice
Stop trying to sound different from when you speak
Breath through the stomach
Do the warm up this vocal coach told you about. Do it is really really works
Dont sing while listening to the actual singer.Youll end up imitating him/her.

I want to start taking lessons but I’m not sure how to choose a coach. I’m wary of ‘schools’ but also extremely nervous about going to a freelance coach
My experience at music schools has not been good. I feel like freelance coaches are the way to go!

Adam Mishan Yeah. When I was a kid, I quit because the guys in my school started bullying my friends and I over singing. They would say "Singing is for faggots", called us gay and would even threaten us with violence. It was messed up so I quit.

Please don't give them control over your decisions like that. Being a good singer doesn't make you gay and I know for a fact that woman don't think that way. We love a man that can sing.

Everytime i try to sing a high note the throat squeezes idk how to explain
What's happening is your larynx (ie your Adam's apple) is rising as you sing higher in your range. When your larynx rises the muscle around the larynx tighten causing the squeezing feeling you are experiencing.
Adam Mishan is that a good thing or bad thing? I ask because the same happens to me as well.
