She is being criticized left and right for her acting (not that she is bad but SM didn't give her any training) , but she had great potential to be a great entertainer if she had pursued in the direction of being in an idol group.

For all the people saying, "She's pretty but she can't act/she doesn't have the aura of an actress." No. Her acting isn't bad. You just didn't like the characters she played, just because the roles she got wasn't a badass female. Yes, badass girls are cool, but not every girl has to be badass and physically strong. There's nothing wrong with being emotional or not being able to kick asses or crying. And it's not uncommon that people hate heroines in dramas/anime, which have multiple good looking guys and only few girls, for no reason but just because the girl is 'weak' or 'too sweet'. And even if you didn't like the characters Ara played, it's the writers' fault for making her characters that way, and not her. Sorry for the rant , but I think there are too many people who criticize actresses, not because that's your opinion, but because every other comments do that, so you believe them and you do it too.
