Juan, did you know that Sediment in gasoline and diesel is so small that it goes right thru the filter screen and holds the check valves open. reducing the ability of the pump to pull fuel up from the fuel tank.. it also reduces fuel pressure held in the line to the carb or injection pump. on gasoline engines.. the reduction in pressure to the carb allows the heat off the radiator and engine to turn the fuel to vapor. the expanding vapor pushes liquid fuel out of the fuel pump and backwards thru the sediment coated check valves and all the way back to the tank.. a 10 micron rated fuel filter. will catch most of the sediment. a strong magnet stuck to the bottom of the fuel tank will attract sediment to the magnetic field thru the fuel tank.. putting a magnet inside the fuel tank works even better.. nice animation..
