Good to see the reunion of the best coaching duo on the internet. I hope you guys you could start preparing videos focused on advancing play levels for intermediates (NRTP 3.5). I see a real gap in that coaching since online coaches focus on either: * total beginners (how to serve, continental grip, etc.) * pro level players (imitate top ATP techniques) We need more videos like this and tailored for intermediates.
I am the crippled punisher/dominator with outstanding ability to mess up the incoming defensive moon balls, slices and short nothing balls :) So way too often I just punish myself when I hit a great shot and have to play that one more awkward defensive ball…
I like the idea of starting out as the wall for a few games and then switching to the finisher/dominator for the rest of the match... going back to wall if I make too many errors. I guess that means tactician overall?
I purchased the related course. The best course I have ever seen on the subject. Covers everything. It's an absolute must for anyone who is looking to win their matches!!
I think I am definitely a tactician; I mostly transform into the wall (when facing big hitters) and also into the finisher, because I like to come to the net and also chip'n'charge vs weak serves.
Love this!!! So good to see you both explain and by example show us these type of plays/players. Thanks so much and thanks for coming to film this in Crete, Greece 🇬🇷 at Nana Tennis Resort (come back again soon please!) ❤🥇🎾
Hi Simon and Alex, what a great video and well explained ,I have played all those ways to win matches and we all have a favourite style,. Also depends on conditions, ie Court surface, weather, etc. My coach s first rule was attack when you can, defend when you have too,and .no free points! Play to strengths ! Keep up the good work, will use this with my players on the rock ! Would be good to do a video re doubles roles and responsibilities, like your singles video above ! Ian From Jersey on the rock !
Thanks for all your help, doubles is such a vital game in developing parts of the all court game, and especially serve and return and net play, playing as a team, for juniors and seniors in a club, thanks ian
I love your videos, they are so very helpful. Thanks a lot. ❤ Could you please add a video about what we have to do a day before and until the match hour?
Hello Simon and Alex, its a good video again 🙏🏻 how can i play against good slicer ? In my last matc h, my opponent hit just slice and drop shot, he hadnt any winner but his slices is so low and deeper 🙁
@@TopTennisTrainingOfficial thanks, where is the weight divided? Mostly in the handle I guess, since you're playing a OHB. Do you get enough power on it?
Good video! weeks ago I thought on describing myself and decided I was a Punisher, I thought I´d come up with the term tennis wise but it seems not! 😂 Who are the greatest all time examples, in your opinion, of each of these styles? Mine would be: - Punisher: Djokovic, Nadal (not looking to start a controversy here!) - Dominator: Federer, Serena - Attacker... Sampras? - Tactitian... Murray? Graf? - Wall? I can only think of Wozniacki, was Borg in this category?
@@Macgonagle76 Hewitt and Chang!! definitely! Can't believe I didn't think of them. I don't intially see Ruud as a wall, I think first of De Minaur, of Tommy Paul as such (I didn't mention them because I was thinking of al time greats)... but yeah, thinking about Ruud, I guess he'd be either a wall or a punisher. Saludos ✌️
I am a Waiter. I serve the ball and stay in the place (no reason to waste the energy). 90% of the time, my opponent hits outside (makes a mistake). So, I simply wait 😂
Re. The wall. I played a solid wall in a competion last year with this strategy. Each game involved pretty intense rallies lasting 20 to 30 shots on the majority of points. I usually outlast my opponents but that was the first time I've ever played tennis to near complete exhaustion. I lost (cracked) in the end by attempting to finish points early with decisive winners - unwise idea...should have dug deeper and stayed on strategy.
Body tracking camera gadgets may look cool initially but it’s actually quite annoying for watching tennis because focusing on the player only is first of all a dizzying effect for the viewer and also you miss the other side of the court and even where the shot goes sometimes because of that tracking one player strictly.
I’d love to blame one of them but this video was filmed by a new cameraman we were testing out and we don’t need to explain how it went 😂 sorry for the quality
For me, the tactician seems to be the best strategy in theory because you adapt every single shot to your opponent. In contrary, this acquires all skills of tennis which are out there and of course a lot of intelligence of the game. So for me, I am a tactician but not able to ececute it on the court because of my lacking skills :D
When I'm serving, I'm a combination of the tactician and the dominator. When I'm receiving, I'm a wall, looking to for an opportunity to become the deminator. I think. Lol
Tactitian. Anxiety and anger at myself during matches are my biggest flaws. If I stay focused on my "plan" for every point, less of my attention is on my physical and technical shortcomings - save that for practice! Great lesson, guys!
Would of loved to watch your video but the camera movement is terrible sorry. Wide view, farther back, just let us watch the impact of the ball movement not you hitting. Tactics were probably decent but well never know I stopped watching..
We would agree with that completely. That week we were testing out a new camera guy, and he done a terrible job. But, the video was already filmed so we released it

That is called "strategy" not "tactics"
You should stick to one of them

Poly strings, an unknown brand, strung between 38-42lbs depending on the conditions

That’s a pro stock extreme tour 317g it’s Jay Clarke’s racket, not sure the exact specs

Nothing wrong with staying patient and getting the ball back in play! If they can’t handle it why do anything else 😁
Counterpuncher at its finest 😁😁
Man, your serve must be a rocket!
It would be great to see a video on how to counter opponents that are themselves using one of these 5 strategies.
We cover that inside our tactics course on our website 👍
I like the dominator. Next to skill you need a lot of stamina.

The wall is a hard player to defeat, unless you’re physically in great shape
