Any team that makes a conference finals can say that though. "If we get pass this team, we can win the title." Obviously. So I wouldn't say the past 2 years. Denver in 2023 was far better than Denver in 2024. Meanwhile Lakers 2023 was pretty much the same level overall as Lakers 2024. We were not beating Denver in any way in 2023. And this year had we got past them, the Wolves would have won. And the Mavs were better too.
I think AD and Lebron could play the same number of games if they dont have to exert themselves as much as last year. With better coaching, more contribution from the younger guys and fewer blown leads in the 4th that forces Lebron to go back in, Lakers could get around 47-50 wins with LBJ and AD playing 65 games.
Folks keep forgetting prior to the Olympics they played their last game APRIL 29th. Without the Olympics they would have gone 5 months without really playing way too long! I actually think their slow starts at the beginning of the season comes from getting the rust out, they should be well oiled.. Gold Medal game is AUG 11th. Anything less than 30min for Lebron is going to be fine. And, in regards to the physicality of the Olympics Lebron is probably the only player that actually gets less calls in the NBA. NBA officials are biased against Lebron's size and often let players be extra physical with "only him" for some reason. These Olympic officials are not biased the same way and the opposing non-NBA players don't seem to foul Lebron and get away with it the same way players often do in the NBA.

In AR case, it was his first time taking part and playing basketball competitively with Team USA during the summer without any prep. I’m sure given his experience now, he would be not be as burnout as we saw him during the first half of the Laker season.

I think the Olympics will fill that void of him having to rev up to top level ball siince he'll go right from Olympics to training camp. Even better, Rui is playing too, so you have half of your contributors getting real reps and stakes. I know the health is always a thing, but that's us. These guys want as much basketball as they can possibly get.

I’d rather watch them play here than exert themselves during the Lakers season. They actually look like they’re having fun and are obviously competitive. Plus based on the terrible off-season the Lakers have had, the likelihood of a championship this year is basically zero. Helps their legacies more than whatever we can realistically expect from this upcoming season
