My #1 beef is when I see Ashkenazi "experts" and academics online trying to tell people what Sephardics are. They need to get out of the way, and listen to what the peoples' have to say. Enjoyed this video professor Gampel.

Peace. כולנו יהודים. We Ashkenazim, especially in the US, have our own share of popular fairy tales and ignorance about our history, more so than the Sephardim. I have no beef with the Sephardim. I think that Sephardi, Ashkenazi, and Mizrachi histories can be viewed as a loosely integrated whole. We didn't exist in separate boxes. There's plenty of evidence that many Sephardis made their way into Central Europe, where they adopted Yiddish and Ashkenazi culture. See "Zamosc Synagogue" in Wikipedia.

My take is partly that Ashkenazi are some what propagandist since they are mainly founded by the Jewish priestly class.... They carry the baton though in other words they are zealots and have always been so, they sold Jesus out since he was against their power.

Today Sefardim does not mean just Spanish Jews anymore. It goes beyond the spectrum. Anyone living in Western Europe North Africa to turkey are or are considering themselves Sefardim. To me Sefardim is people descended from Spanish Jews. Period. Ashkenazim came into the Iberian peninsula and later considered themselves Sefardim. We are not the same peoples. When the Sefardim went into upper Europe they eventually mixed with the ashkenaz. That’s why they go by mother lineage. Today you will see many ashkenazim in Spain who considers themselves sefardi. Maybe some have sefardi connection and or maybe some are just connected by religion. But what’s for sure they have infiltrated most if not all Sefardic culture.

King Solomon had businesses with Tartessic civilization, that's biblical. And Tartessos had their own coinage in which can be traced several data, that's an observative fact. From here to the story of tax collectors in those times, I'm not aware of any data from that purpose.
Jews collecting taxes is only observed in Portugal kingdom formation (X century onwards), where most of the finance people were Jewish, but that's not new, it was part of the business to setup the Kingdom, and didn't change even after King João III signed he expulsion, which is a funny fact.

I was told one time in a lecture that Constantine founded the Christian sect, Iprotested and was shouted down. I vindicated by a lady who had been in the lecture. • @larryjohnson1457
      @larryjohnson1457 7 років тому +1

He didn't change the sabbath day. He declared that Christian worship should occur on the Lord's Day which is Sunday, the first day of the week. This was done since primarily to symbolize the newness of the Christian faith as it was a Sunday when Christ was resurrected. In short: Saturday=Old Covenant, Sunday (c/o the resurrection)=New Covenant.
Recall from Scripture, Christians are no longer bound by the Old Covenant (for an example, see Romans 14) thus declaring that Christians must worship on the Sabbath goes against what Scripture actually teaches.

The earliest Christians were Jews. So ethnically, the early Christians and Jews were all related. So imagine this, you convert to Catholicism and ask your Jewish cousin who happens to be a rabbi to come and bless your food. Yes, they were married. No big surprise there. Christians aren't an ethnic group.

You can not simply make statements like 'what the jews of Spain and Portugal like to believe'...... or state that these traditions are myths and imagined history without challenging them on the basis of research or archaeological proof. Otherwise it simply looks like the professor is promoting his own personal views as fact.

I never get a straight answer as to whom Sephardim claim as an Abrahamic matriarch. Sarah, Hagar, Keturah, or concubines? Besides Joseph and Judah... who were the wives of the other ten patriarchs in the Land of Canaan, where there were no Semite/Hebrew wives (Gen 24:1-3; 28:1-4; 37:1)?
It has been my finding that Sephardim are circumcised "Shelanite" (Num 26:20) descendants of Judah via his "Canaanitess" wife (Gen 38:5, 26; 1Chr 2:3). Judah's "Canaanite" father-in-law Shuah (Gen 38:1, 2), was one of Abraham's second wife Keturah's "children"/"sons", NOT Abraham's (Gen 25:1-4; 1Chr 1:32, 33). Therefore the veiled Sephardi Abrahamic matriarch, is Keturah.
Christians have been accused of Covenant Replacement Theology for 2k years. I get the distinct impression Sephardim claim themselves to be the 'new' Promised Seed of Abraham, via Abraham's second wife, Keturah. That original Replacement Covenant Theology, began with Keturah replacing Sarah; and, Keturah's son Shuah (Judah's father-in-law), replacing Isaac. And, Judah's Canaanite son Shelah, 'father' of the Shelanites (Gen 38:5, 26; Num 26:20), replaced Jacob, and his sons.
A Sephardi Jew may be willing to refute my position. But, the fact remains in my discussions... their Abrahamic matriarch remain elusive, as well as definitive, or sound hermeneutics, as to whom those ten other patriarch's married in the Land of Canaan, where there were no available Semite/Hebrew brides.
Earlier still, who did Shem's sons marry in a land cleared by the flood? The possibilities: (1) Shem's sons married their Japhethite/Gentile first cousins; or,
    (2) Shem's grandchildren were the cursed progeny of first-degree sibling incest. Before Mosaic Law, Noah said the progeny of first degree mother-son incest, is "cursed" (Canaan, Gen 9:22; Lev 18:8; 20:11).
    (3) Shem's sons married the 'daughters' of Ham by his nefarious, antediluvian wife, of dark and dubious ancestry (matriarch to the Babylonians, and Assyrians, Gen 10).
    (4) Shem's sons married the 'daughters' of Canaan, cursed progeny of incestuous Ham, and his mother, Noah's wife
But, I can't get a straight answer from a Sephardic Jew, as to whom Shem's sons married, either. Who did those ten patriarch's marry? Who do the Sephardim claim as an Abrahamic matriarch? I just can't get a straight answer from them.

@@TorahisLifeandLight Matt... if you wanna unravel the mystery of the OT, start with ancestry: Jacob was 'father' of God's chosen Israelites (Deu 7:6-11), NOT Jews. Jacob's Israelite patriarchal son, 'Jewdah', was 'father' of the Jews.
Problem: Judah married a "Canaanitess" (1Chr 2:3; Gen 38:2, 11) contrary to Abraham's infamous quest for a wife for Isaac (Gen 24:3), contrary to Isaac's marital instruction to Jacob (Gen 28:1-4), later contrary to God/Moses (Deu 7:1-5), and a "great trespass" according to Ezra (Ezra 9:1, 2, 7)... a forbidden marriage resulting in Judah being personally disowned in the last book of the OT according to Malachi (Mal 2:11, 12).
Judah's betrothed (to his Canaanite son, Shelah, Gen 38:11-12, 26) daughter-in-law Tamar, risked death by fire (Gen 38:24), to conceive the 'illegitimate' twin sons, Pharez and Zerah. That relationship was contrary to numerous Levitical Laws. Therefore, the descendants of Pharez and Zerah ("Pharzites"/"Zarhites", Num 26:20), were under 'bondage of the law' being ineligible heirs to Judah's Promised Land in 'Jewdah'/'Jewdea' encompassing 'Jewrusalem'.
But, the primary issue was which descendant lineage of prophesied Messianic Judah (Gen 49:10; Isa 65:9) would produce God's Messiah? The Shelanites? Or, Pharzites/Zarhites. By Jesus' day, those Shelanite descendants of Judah usurped the ancestral title "Jews", they squatted his Promised Land in Judah/Judea/Jerusalem, and claimed themselves to be Judah's Messianic lineage, the 'false gospel', and 'endless genealogies'.
Meanwhile, as was King David, Jesus was explicitly a "Pharzite" Jew (Gen 38:28-30; Num 26:20; Mat 1:3; Luke 3:30-33). When a Pharzite/Zarhite declared Pharzite Jesus as God's Messiah, they inherently and retroactively 'legitimized' their origin, and were no longer under bondage of the Law.... Hence: Jerusalem fell 70AD. Those circumcised "Shelanites" 'got religion' following the Books of Moshe (Mat 23), being the scribes and Pharisees. Those Shelanite 'Jews' rebuked Pharizite Jesus on the grounds he wasn't a Shelanite. Pharzite Jesus spilled the beans on their lies and ancestral hypocrisy (Mat 23; Rev 2:9; 3:9), so they plotted his crucifixion (John 11:45-53).
All Jews are not the same as you suggest. There are 'Jews' by geography (inhabitants of 'Jewdah's' Promised Land. And, there are 'Jews' by theology. But, the ONLY ancestrally authentic Jews were Pharzites and Zarhites, period (1Chr 4:1, contrasted with 4:21+). The only way for a Jew to scream anti-Semite, is to show me their ancestry from Pharez/Zerah, smh.

But, Sephardim are neither ancestrally authentic, pure pedigree Hebrews, nor Israelites, although one may claim the ubiquitous title 'Jew', being of Judah... It's belived that the first jewish comunities reached shefara with the carthaginiams in 200 BC , the jewish as semitic people used to move along the world with other stronger semitic civilizations , and I pretty sure that the first christiams and jews in shefara in the first century did not know exactly the diferences between Judaims and Christanisty , about all because the old christanity on exencia is sheer Judaims
