I'm impressed spot, Woe I'm really impressed, Neca has made really awesome Alien figures and other figures based on movies really well. Neca never disappoint us fan.
I think it's simply to make it a more modernized movie monster. Let's face it, as iconic as the original Big Chap is, under bright lighting his proportions are exposed which make him look kind of clumsy and give away the fact that it's a guy in a suit. Even the action figures of Big Chap capture that guy in a suit kind of look. As the movies progressed, they've made the designs sleeker not only to make the Xenomorphs more agile looking, but also to get away from the guy in a suit look to them. By selectively increasing and reducing certain proportions, they got gradually less and less humanoid looking and were more monster-like, which is something that I loved about the Resurrection/AVP designs of the Xenomorphs. It's a shame that they also did away with Giger's signature biomechanical design though.
@@windowsVDknow this is an old comment, but I always thought big chap was the most humanoid looking Xenomorph because its host was a human. So when they’re growing naturally in a hive they look different, or if it’s host was a dog you get the “dog alien” or if it’s host was a Predator you get the Predalien ect. That would also make sense with all the Xenomorph variants canon or not. Obviously I’m not saying anything you said was wrong though, you’re right, I just think that’s the reason they can get away with it easily, that’s the reason I don’t have a problem with it at all anyway.
@@badassdanthepowerman6438 Uhhh, all of the Xenomorphs from every film had human hosts, save for the Runner-Alien from Alien 3 and the Predalien. Where did you think the other Xenomorphs came from?
@@windowsVD Been a while since I’ve seen Aliens but yeah now that you point it out yeah most of those are human hosts because they take over that base, oops. That just completely slipped my mind so my theory has been murdered haha.
i bought 2 these aliens because they looks awesome, i though Warrior alien is only one type, but this type of Warrior alien is perfect alien to collection, your figure review is awesome
Harri927 the predators wouldn't stand a chance against a bunch of the big chap like xenos. even the one in the '79 film was really dangerous by itself and seemed waaay smarter than the ones in Aliens. I honestly want to see the design again in one of the future alien movies. He was also my first alien figure and to this day remains my favorite type of xeno alongside the queen of course
The middle neck spine on the back of the Alien Isolation Xenomorph figure is actually a mistake by NECA. In the game, that's one of the key differences between the original Drone and the ones in the game, is that they lack those middle spines. The feet are accurate, and so is pretty much everything else however. I think later designs might have removed it because of the Alien's repetitive need to scale walls and ceilings and stuff.
I like the design the of the 79 and the warrior aliens (from aliens) as well as the protomorph. I like the desgin of the 79 and warrior aliens with the digitigrade legs. P.S imagine a warrior style protomorph.
I thought I was the only one who thought about this alien looking better haha, it is similar to resurrection model too. Neca Alien Covenant is pretty Good if u haven't got it yet.
I don't think that's possible due to licensing. Even though they have the license to do Alien figures and it's an Alien, they don't have the rights to Mortal Kombat. So I think there would be an issue there.
I made one myself, custom. Used one of the older neca aliens, and sculpted an entirely new head for it, and the claws, and then repainted it and added gloss.
Will buy this one easily and the grid one :D But do anyone here recommend a seller on ebay that sells these? Most sellers on ebay seem to be from china and they are well known to sell bootlegs of these and dont wanna buy a fake one with horrible quality...
No, they wouldn't. They'd be considerably larger than the MKX figures. Those figures are in a 6 inch scale, though they seem to be on the shorter side of most 6 inch scale figures. They seem closer to 5 and a half. The Aliens would look like giants standing next to them.
well i only have kitana and alien is a giant compared to her in the game soooo ill think about it regardless. i wanted to pose her cutting his head off lol.
Too much like the ones in Resurrection, which I thought looked much less sleek and armored than the previous versions, and sort of...I dunno...sticky. In addition, the way the neck narrows towards the bottom makes it look like it's being squeezed in. Basically, the Resurrection/AVP xenos look more squishy, almost blob-like.
Jarfulous The colour has changed from brown to black and the fins that the Resurrection ones had for swimming are gone. The webbed feet are also gone and the front of the head is a bit sharper. The lower torso on the AVP Xeno is also a lot skinnier and more sunken in. That's basically all the changes made.
Absolutely! This AVP design just awesome. My fav!

I agree with you, this figure is very very movie accurate.
I wouldn't say that NECA NEVER disappoints us, but it's rare that they do. Their work is usually always impressive.
@@SlasherIncorporated And even on the occasions that they DO disappoint us, their sculpts are on point 92% of the time.
This is what I see when I think of a xenomorph. Slender body, long tail, those back things, a smooth black dome, and all black, a must buy.
Agreed
My take on their role is that of much slender, faster warriors that appear in larger numbers than the bulkier typical warriors.

Is it just me or do the AVP xenomorphs look exactly the same as the Alien: Resurrection xenomorphs?
They're similar with minor differences like the hands and legs
Lemmy thunder I agree with ya because das basically what it is
yea i was thinking that too but with this repaint its really appealing to me
The only difference is the color and the leg length
@knifeheadcategoryiv584 yes they are mostly identical but the AVP version is slightly improved.
My favorite Xenomorph design, my favorite Xenomorph is Grid

My favorite Alien design is the original 79 Alien.
Harri927 Same here, behind that for me it's the Protomorph design from Covenant
Yeah me to. As the movies went on the design became less mechanical and more biological ie this warrior alien.

I got this for Christmas i absolutely love it
Other than the head, I think it’s actually a mostly reused sculpt from the AVPR 2007 figure.
I dont know why but i like the brown Cameron version as the best one!
avp xeno is also my fave
I like this one ☝️
I like it mainly the colour and i love the tail length

Are the fingernails and toenails painted in silver or do they just look that way due to the reflection of light??

I hope NECA can make the Mortal Kombat X Alien. I think that would be pretty sweet.

true
ya the alien from mortal kombat x is cool but mortal kombat wouldn't give neca the rights to make it unless mortal kombat got all of the prophets.

which is better? this one or the runner xeno?
The runner has a higher probability of a loose torso joint,so that's something to consider.

Never been a fan of this alien design. It looks goofy and a bit like a turd.

They're actually the same as in Resurrection with just a few updates.
