    People who never studied an instrument can't possibly appreciate how difficult this piece is. Great performance!

    Wow, wow, wow. I have watched this at least 200 times. Probably more like 500 times. Let's just say too many times to count. I think you are amazing.

    Say, this is a pretty fanstastic performance of a very daunting piece. Technically impressive, but that is so often the case today that it's no longer remarkable. What is very remarkable indeed is the sensitive musicianship. Kho Woon Kim, keep up the great work! Here's hoping to hear more of you in the near future.

    Great performance!! I reading the score as she was playing and she omitted the 2-count rest at 2:07, otherwise very well done for a very difficult piece. ( Not as difficult as Liszt's transcription of Wagner's Overture to Tannhauser. Very few pianists can perform that piece without technical, or mechanical error.)

    An excellent interpretation that brings out all the inner voices, many of which are key melody lines, without resorting to absolute pounding on the keys. Very well done! Bravo!

      "Bravo" is for male, for a woman you need to say "brava".

    • @gunthermathiasbausellapiz5211
      @gunthermathiasbausellapiz5211 4 роки тому +2

      @@totidan38 well yes that's correct, but its common to use ¡bravo! always if you are not italian, not saying it's right, though. In spanish, for instance, nobody says ¡brava!, because bravo/brava, is an intalian adjective, meaning good, hence why it is used as a compliment, but in spanish, bravo/brava is a completely different adjective, meaning brave, so when we borrow the expression from Italy, we use it as an interjection and not as an adjective, and thats we are used to use ¡bravo! in spanish regardless of the gender. And of course, you don't have gender distinction in english adjectives, so it is also understandable for an english speaker to don't say it right

    Kho Woon Kim's sensitive tempi, phrasing, and articulation are all superb in her performance of this knuckle-buster. I'd be inclined to call it the best performance of Liszt's Rossini transcription that I've ever heard (and even overlook the klunky sounds at 11:30 and 11:43). But I cannot for the life of me understand why she omits one of the finale's most wonderful touches, namely the four-note phrase that leaps up an octave at 9:44, 9:47, 11:07, and 11:10. She just sits in the same octave...

    My pristine admiration for Kho Woon Kim knows no bounds. Besides G. Rossini', her Brahms, Beethoven, Schumann, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov ... she plays them supremely well. She gives life to them bringing all emotion from their supreme perennial Art.at totum.
    And indeed, her G. Rossini', is a special case, and particularly his overtures. I think her interpretation is reference, not only for her technical perfection.
    As I feel to this composers, I have not heard anyone who approaches so much to his spirit as Kho Woon Kim.
    I truly expect that she will discover my compositions,
    my personal music, and then start to play, to perform me. >>> YAN AYRTON, Classical composer from XXI century.

    Lacks energy and excitement. Falls flat. This piece requires a bravura technique and a very big sound. She is simply unable to produce that sound. Technically, she is good, but her sound, tone, touch simply lacks force and power. An average performance of this at best.
