I accepted Christ at a young age. This is one of my dominant giftings. I never had a name for it, but growing up, I always felt weird because I would discern things in people and didn't know why nor did I have a name for it. It's a weird, but very helpful gift.

This is my main gift. God puts me in positions to use it, that often have me confronting spiritual leaders. They don't like that. Some think that spiritual discernment is the ability to sense the presences of good or evil spirits, either in the room or in the people around them. While some people may possess this capability, it is not the biblical definition of discernment. Spiritual discernment for the most part, has to do with wisdom… and the ability to tell the difference between truth and error. Hebrews 5:13,14 “…for everyone who lives on milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, since he is a child. But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil.” The ability to discern, according to these scriptures, is becoming skilled in the Word of God (word of righteousness) and “constant practice” (by which we gain wisdom and experience). Understand that first of all that God is the only one that give you wisdom and reveal to you what is in the truth...Jame 1:5, if you lack wisdom, ask God.
that is incorrect rodney, the GIFT of discernment is not referenced in the scripture you provided. Hebrews is not speaking of the GIFT of discernment but rather using the knowledge of the word to identify truth from error. The gift of discernment operates in the ministry and this gift definitely alerts me to the presence and operation of unclean spirits.

Many of these gifts were given for the establishment of the 1st century church. and now that we have the full canon of Scriptures, these gifts are no longer necessary!
If you really want to get a handle on what is really behind the presuppositions of this kind of theology I would suggest that you read a book called The Gnostic Empire Strikes Back by Dr. Peter Jones at Westminster Seminary. This modern form of Christianity has its roots in the pagan power religions.. Thats why everything is always framed with the words extreme and supernatural. If you notice Patricia uses this word all the time. Read the book. You will know why after you read it.
I Have that discernment. When I Watched a group of minsters who are black . They preached something and I Felt strange feeling they preached that only blacks are saved and that whites were rejected from the Grace of God and they did not believe in the trinity.

When Revelation 1:14&15 describes a black man. You say that these black ministers preached that you had to be black to be saved -- but they never built up a whole country and raped, murdered, and pillaged the land and the people like white people did standing behind their Christianity. With discernment the very first thing God does, is reveal his true church, there only being one. This is how you know there is no one with this gift. Apostle Paul said, he knew a man taken to heaven and shown unspeakable things, unspeakable because the world views them as lies, and the lies they tell are the truth. Your supposed to use it to find salvation, not believe the lies told to you, as you believe your already saved =). God knows what in your heart, and he will show it to you, if that's in your heart. This is the true gift, and how it works. Not unlike Moses, I too sought out God, and he introduced me to his son, this vision took place in a mirror, where he was going to help me, 2nd Corinthians chapter 3. Seven years later I was transformed to be like all them written about in the bible, and yes even understand them. At that point I still wasn't saved, but I knew I was looking for the match I was given, that none of the others had. Eventually I asked God to show them to me, and they came for me, just like peter on the roof top. Its not changed, God calls the shots not us. It wouldn't have mattered if I thought I was saved, I wasn't. There are those who want power, or money, but they don't know the answers, that is why Christ sent the Holy Spirit to help us. So please don't be fooled, and led astray by every whim, you owe it to yourself to find the truth, and its not here.

Sounds like the man in the closet that I saw in shadow form years ago. Then years after, I saw 3 demons running towards me and Jesus pushed them away from me to get to me in a sunflower field. Then, years after that, I saw a glory cloud when I was praying about something. It was shaped in a chair and Jesus face and white hair. All of it freaked me out but now I am studying up one why or what is happening to me.

God talks to us through his word. I am reformed and I believe in Sola Scriptura which is scripture alone. God talks to us through his word. Anything in contradiction to word is false and subjective. Having to say everything is fine is very southern. It isn't unusual for northerner a to be put off by it. Occasionally, some of us are very alone in this phony crowd. But the matter of discernment is far more important. I figure that if I attend to the word of God & compare what I hear with it, if prophecy is for today & true, God will not condemn me for testing the spirits to see if they are from God.
In addition I would like to add. I never asked for any gift of the Holy Spirit. And it is God only who decides what gifts we should get, they are for service. I see demons in so many people I cannot believe how bad off humanity is. I especially see them in the ones arriving to our country from India. I am sure I am supposed to tell these people that they need Jesus. Discernment is given to those in harmony with the compassion of Christ.

Have you ever prayed to God and ask Him what is His will for your life? Of course the first place He leads us is to Jesus and His shed blood always. But later on comes the Baptism in the Holy Spirit which prepares us for service. HE can then tell us what to do, we obey, HE does the work, and we get the credit with jewels in our crown in heaven. I am not really looking for teachers. Just fellowship. Listening to people on here is great. I am from Detroit where people were friendly interactive and very caring for the lot of them. Now I live in a place that does not understand any closeness to others at all. It is a different world here. I'm not a anti supernaturalist. I believe that God can do anything he wants to. I just think we should be sceptics when people make general claims to the miraculous. Patricia King is not theologically sound as a teacher anyway. The parting of the red sea and raising the dead are not common miracles and those kinds of miracles don't occur in our day. The New Testament says the Gospel is the power of God unto salvation. So if you want to see the power, there it is.
The whole KJV of the Bible is filled with miracles. The greatest miracle is for one to truly reach God, believe what He has in the bible about Jesus and accept HIM as Lord and Savior of their life. He is the only way to heaven. This Jesus had to die shed his blood to wipe out your sins. If our good were good enough, Jesus would not have had to be our sacrifice for sin. If you continue to serve the Lord and are open to anything he has you will see miracles without asking for them.
Not so the scriptures on the Holy Spirit are literal and gutteral and for today. Maybe that is why Greek was the major language of the time it is both of these. With discernment the very first thing God does, is reveal his true church, there only being one. This is how you know there is no one with this gift. Apostle Paul said, he knew a man taken to heaven and shown unspeakable things, unspeakable because the world views them as lies, and the lies they tell are the truth. It is more important to know God, than it is to have a gift, because they will say they did those gifts in the name of Jesus, but Jesus will say he doesn't know them, and he doesn't know you.

Your supposed to use it to find salvation, not believe the lies told to you, as you believe your already saved =). God knows what in your heart, and he will show it to you, if that's in your heart. This is the true gift, and how it works. Not unlike Moses, I too sought out God, and he introduced me to his son, this vision took place in a mirror, where he was going to help me, 2nd Corinthians chapter 3. Seven years later I was transformed to be like all them written about in the bible, and yes even understand them. At that point I still wasn't saved, but I knew I was looking for the match I was given, that none of the others had. Eventually I asked God to show them to me, and they came for me, just like peter on the roof top. Its not changed, God calls the shots not us. It wouldn't have mattered if I thought I was saved, I wasn't. There are those who want power, or money, but they don't know the answers, that is why Christ sent the Holy Spirit to help us. So please don't be fooled, and led astray by every whim, you owe it to yourself to find the truth, and its not here.

Miracles in the New Testament were for the purpose of authenticating the divinity of Christ. They also confirmed the calling and AUTHORITY of the Apostles. They were not to dazzle people. People do not believe because they see miracles. Even after Jesus performed miracles in front of thousands of people they still crucified him. The Bible says that we are more blessed if we believe and have never seen any miracles. Saving faith comes by grace through faith. It does not come from miracles.

Sounds like the man in the closet that I saw in shadow form years ago. Then years after, I saw 3 demons running towards me and Jesus pushed them away from me to get to me in a sunflower field. Then, years after that, I saw a glory cloud when I was praying about something. It was shaped in a chair and Jesus face and white hair. All of it freaked me out but now I am studying up one why or what is happening to me.

God talks to us through his word. I am reformed and I believe in Sola Scriptura which is scripture alone. God talks to us through his word. Anything in contradiction to word is false and subjective. Most of these Super Apostles like Patricia King do not exegete the scripture and they come up with a lot expressions and ideas that do not comport with scripture and Bible doctrine.Patricia Kind is more on the Gnostic side of the coin. Having to say everything is fine is very southern. It isn't unusual for northerner a to be put off by it. Occasionally, some of us are very alone in this phony crowd. But the matter of discernment is far more important. I figure that if I attend to the word of God & compare what I hear with it, if prophecy is for today & true, God will not condemn me for testing the spirits to see if they are from God.
In addition I would like to add. I never asked for any gift of the Holy Spirit. And it is God only who decides what gifts we should get, they are for service. I see demons in so many people I cannot believe how bad off humanity is. I especially see them in the ones arriving to our country from India. I am sure I am supposed to tell these people that they need Jesus. Discernment is given to those in harmony with the compassion of Christ.

You do not know the bible. The Baptism in the Holy Spirit is what happens after you are saved. It is from God and it is separate. It can happen right after you accept Jesus, but usually does not. If it happens to you then you will know it. I am not the only one to believe in Jesus and then receive the Holy Spirit. I do not listen to false teachers. I look for true ones. Yes the Lord does teach us. However we are not to forsake our assemblings.

If you are hungry to know more of the Love God has for us, you will love listening to this woman, who indeed has been exceptionally close to HIM.
Have you ever prayed to God and ask Him what is His will for your life? Of course the first place He leads us is to Jesus and His shed blood always. But later on comes the Baptism in the Holy Spirit which prepares us for service. HE can then tell us what to do, we obey, HE does the work, and we get the credit with jewels in our crown in heaven. We also might get the soul winners crown. It is really quite simple and Ms King is actually simple.
I am not really looking for teachers. Just fellowship. Listening to people on here is great. I am from Detroit where people were friendly interactive and very caring for the lot of them. Now I live in a place that does not understand any closeness to others at all. It is a different world here. I'm not a anti supernaturalist. I believe that God can do anything he wants to. I just think we should be sceptics when people make general claims to the miraculous. Patricia King is not theologically sound as a teacher anyway. The parting of the red sea and raising the dead are not common miracles and those kinds of miracles don't occur in our day. The New Testament says the Gospel is the power of God unto salvation. So if you want to see the power, there it is.
The whole KJV of the Bible is filled with miracles. The greatest miracle is for one to truly reach God, believe what He has in the bible about Jesus and accept HIM as Lord and Savior of their life. He is the only way to heaven. This Jesus had to die shed his blood to wipe out your sins. If our good were good enough, Jesus would not have had to be our sacrifice for sin. If you continue to serve the Lord and are open to anything he has you will see miracles without asking for them.
Not so the scriptures on the Holy Spirit are literal and gutteral and for today. Maybe that is why Greek was the major language of the time it is both of these.
