    I have heard the reconstruction surgery makes you impotent.. and he is saying that he had a child after that..Please explain..

      It doesnt make you impotent bro, One of the possible side effects of Urethroplasty is Erectile dysfunction.. Which is also very slight.. its not a very common side effect..

      I have been living with urethral stricture for almost 18 years without knowing it. Got it form catheter during my hospital stay for perforated appendicitis back in 2004. After that, slow flow, incontinence and pain during ejaculation. Rushed to ER in May this year because of acute urine retention. Doctor said I have bulbar stricture which almost completely blocking my urine. Doctor proceed with endoscopic treatment and asked for self dilation which I found it hard to do. Good flow around a month now back to slow flow and the only option is urethroplasty. Every surgery have risk. If it able to help to urinate better and risk for ed which is very low, I would go for it.
