    If you decide to purchase a bagger on this tractor, don't forgot to install your containment tray underneath your mower deck. It makes a huge difference for building pressure in your shute and will prevent your shute from clogging.

    Your probably the first person I've ever heard say to engage the blades at a lower engine rpm... The reality is its a clutch that's getting slammed together when the switch is flipped, and the higher the engine rpm the more that clutch is going to get burned up every use. On my old 60's tractor I actually just idle the tractor and engage the blades then proceed up to full throttle. Its a mechanical clutch on that one and a huge pain in the butt to re-build lol So I do it that way to avoid re-building it as much as possible.

      Same here, never knew enough to do this! However, that being said, my 23 year old Simplicity I have always engaged electric PTO @ full throttle without wearing out blade brake! Lucky, I guess! Nevertheless, I am thinking of replacing my Simplicity with a TS 248XD Husqvarna! Thanks 4 the ideo.👍😊

      @@davidkirkham6497 Hmm, well if its lasted 23 years.. I guess I wont worry too much about it. I just purchased a TS242XD today actually, much smoother than my 60's garden tractor I hate to admit.

    I was considering a mower like this after my old Cub Cadet exhausted my patience, but one thing I noticed, all of these machines are virtually the same, different color and slightly different headlights etc... but same engines, same wheels, same chassis, same seats, etc... etc...
    So I said the heck with them all, a d went with Massey Ferguson GC1725M. (10 year warranty or 2,000 hours) 😁👍

    I was having problems with the mowing deck scalping the lawn so I dropped the deck wheels to the lowest position. I still get uneven cuts especially on small hills or uneven lawn surfaces even with the deck in the highest cut level. Should I downsize from a 48" deck to a 42"?

    Another question about these lawn tractors with the “locking differential” is do you find it gouges the lawn when making tight turns? I saw another “tube” where this was happening to his particular TS 254XD.

    • @Carlsmower
      @Carlsmower  3 роки тому

      Turning to tight, to fast, on a damp surface can cause the diff lock to engage and tear turn. So slow down on corners and you should be fine. Remember once it slips it going to grip.

    Great info and tips! I just had the TS354XD delivered, which is very similar. Mine came without the reserve fuel value and a seat pan like yours, which are different in my users manual. I assume they stopped installing the reserve fuel feature and just need to update the manual. Thanks for the video.

    • @marydoub4801
      @marydoub4801 Місяць тому

      What is the reserve fuel feature?

    • @harvey8695
      @harvey8695 Місяць тому

      @@marydoub4801 This is an explanation another user provided: The on/res/off valve is what determines when the engine runs out of fuel. When in the on position a small tube or straw sticks up from the bottom of the fuel tank When the fuel level drops to the top of this tube, the engine runs out of fuel. Then you end up with an inch or two of fuel in the bottom of the tank that won't come out. When you turn the valve to the reserve position it opens an orifice at the very bottom of the tank. This allows the remaining fuel to come out.

    I was thinking of upgrading to a zero turn. However, some of my property has 20 degree slopes. Can a zero turn handle that or should I stay with a locking diff Husqvarna tractor?

    Thinking about picking one of these up. My property is very hilly and I really like the locking diff. However, can you explain the reverse key position? If the blades are engaged, can I not reverse unless I put the key in that position? If the blades are disengaged, does it operate as normal?

    • @Carlsmower
      @Carlsmower  3 роки тому +3

      It’s simply a safety device as long as you have the key in the reverse mow position you can mow forwards or backwards all day long. Hopefully this clarifies your question properly otherwise I can potentially shoot a specific video showing how that functions let me know if I need to do that.

    ts 248xd Husqvarna, That's what I own. I cannot find a bag system anywhere. For it. It does not have the hook. Like you have on this one, so you can just hook your noscel onto it. And shoot the leaves grass whatever up into the back. It is not a stamped deck. So something must be different any ideas.

      @jaxturner7288 Рік тому +1

    • @jaxturner7288
      @jaxturner7288 Рік тому +1

      @@johnwilliams3555 no not likely, most came from the factory with engine rpm set within a couple hundred rpm of what their max was supposed to be.
      While max rpm is adjustable and you could possibly safely turn it up a bit, the dead area in the throttle is not affecting maximum rpm.
      When the engines are initially installed they pull all the slack to the throttle lever and end up with half the travel wasted. You can adjust most of it away so it starts having an effect earlier in its travel but it’s not going to move further open unless you turn the adjustment screw for max rpm out. And like I said they were already set close to max at the factory so you don’t want to go much if at all with that adjustment.
